I should have known I could never run fast enough to stay free of my family's clutches.

Now I'm back under my mother's thumb, being prepped as the heir to her mafia throne... and for other plans so shady she's keeping them secret.

But I'm not giving up on my figure-skating dreams or on the men who've stood by me.

It's a dangerous game that Mom's dragged me back into, but I'm going to play it to win. And I'd better... because one misstep, and it's the men I love who'll be paying for my failure.

Really enjoying this series!
I mean the ice-skating element on its own is really enjoyable to read, but the mafia storyline just adds more light and shade to an already fantastic story.
I was a little skeptical about the latest love interest, but he's growing on me.
I was cursing the authors at the end with that cliffhanger, but can't wait for the final book!

The storyline gets heated up in book 3 of this series! I really enjoyed the plot and the characters, this one was probably my favorite of the series so far. Close to a 4.5 stars from me!

We get more insight into Lu's dreaded mom and I was so happy to see her being bested by her daughter haha. I am worried what she has in store for her after how things went down in this book, but it was nice to see someone stand up to her and let her have it after all her scheming. The last member of the harem also was a surprise, I liked how he tried to fit in with the guys first, then proved himself with putting himself in the way when stuff happened. I also liked how the guys are being a unit, letting each other have moments with Lu but also allow for some fun group sexy times haha. I did miss out on some of the M/M between 2 of the guys, moreso the relationship and not the sexy times. I love M/M so I was hoping for some cute moments/serious moments for them.

Lu was doing a good job getting insight on her mom’s business dealing, making her own connections, while competing still in the ice skating competitions. That was so much fun to listen and imagine in my head. I love this sport in the Olympics, so will be excited for them again in a couple years with the next winter Olympics. I am intrigued by some of the new side characters. I can’t tell if they will turn on Lu and her guys or will help them out to take down her mom and her connections once and for all. Am eagerly waiting on book 4 on audio to see how it ends!

Same comments as the others in regards to narration. Some of the narrators are not my favorite but do a decent job. I think a lot of things could have been improved if this was duet and not dual narration but I get not all audiobooks can have that due to the cost. The emotions were high in this one with some of the main characters getting hurt, and the narrators did a fabulous job exuding those emotions in their performances. 4/5 stars for the narration.

I must admit it took me a long time to finish this book. I kept putting it down and reading something else. It isn't that I don't like the characters or the story. For some reason I have found myself reluctant to continue reading a book when the protagonist is about to get herself, or himself, into a sticky situation or something is about to go terribly wrong. I can't explain it. I know that nothing is going to happen that they can't get out of, but I just can't seem to go on reading. I eventually go back and continue on, like my anxiety has faded and I can now find out what happens next. If you have read any of Eva's non-magical novels you know that sticky situations are prevalent, as are cliffhangers. This one is no different - thus my tardiness in completing it.

Luciana had been forced back into her mother's dangerous world and had to leave her lovers and her skating behind. When the guys eventually track her down, she is afraid the Deadly Rose so find out they are near and hurt one or more of them. She walks a fine line as she tries to prepare for the Nationals and gather evidence about her mother's latest machinations which will pit the Deadly Rose against some of the other members of the Devil's Dozen. Can she find enough hard facts to keep her mother at bay?

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

This is the third book in the Blades of Havoc series. While my tastes tend to be more paranormal, I found that I loved the stories and characters that this author creates in her contemporary books as well as her paranormal books. While I'm not a fan of figure skating, I am a fan of the mafia theme books and watching Lou trying to lead her own destiny kept me drawn in.
This book starts with her back in her mother's clutches. I loved following her as she tries to keep her head above water and get back to the men she loves, as well as the new addition to their party. I also HATE cliff-hangers! While I wasn't surprised it ended the way it did, I wasn't happy that it happened to my favorite character behind Lou. I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys these genres. I can't wait for the last book in the series.
*I received a copy of this book for an honest review

Book three and we carry on from where we left off and it’s one of those series that just keeps getting better and better with each book. Lou is back home under her mothers watchful eye and she is not happy and well neither are the guys but Lou is not one to just back down! It’s a fast paced, action filled instalment with tons of danger, drama, chaos and more than a few surprises but not all of them bad! I really don’t like Lou’s mum and what she is putting them all through but Lou is more then up to the challenge of this dangerous game.

Can't get enough!

I can't get enough of this Devil's Dozen world! 😍 It never fails to deliver intriguing characters and captivating plots.
Having one of the antagonists 'swap sides' so to speak, was fascinating. Especially considering the tactics used. There's a lot of mother/daughter rivalry going on in this one and while it was on an insane level, I could kinda relate it to the dramas I had with my own mother as a teen, which only buried me deeper into the plot.
Very excited for book 4!

Hell hath no fury like a Criminal Mother scorned

Shots ring out, fists are flying and life is down right terrifying for Lou and her men. Lou’s mother has found her and proceeds to take her back home. The guys initially have no idea what happened to her. As they are searching the grounds for any clue Quentin, Lou and Jasper’s rival, approaches and reveals that he saw what happened to Lou.

The journey just gets wilder and more dangerous no matter how they try to get around it. This could be a real nail biter as they work at extricating Lou from her mother’s clutches.

So, so good!!! ❤️‍🔥

This book is so damn good, I even started liking Quentin!!! 😁
Seriously though, this book is fantastic, it had me on edge, biting my nails, wondering what will happen next... the twists and turns don't stop and appear when you less expect them! 🤯🙈
So glad Lou had her men backing her up, because the real war had just started and I can't wait to know what Eva has in store for us! 🖤
Oh wait, brace yourself for that cliffy because 😳💔😭

Lu has pushed hard to get what she wants. Her mother, however, is not having it. Her mother has serious control issues and needs to back off and respect what Lu has done. But before that can happen Lu kicks some tail. It was great to see Beckett turn up and I love that he is helping Lu achieve what she wants. The guys are the best and I absolutely adore them. I can't wait to read the next book.

Lou is back home and not happy about it while her men are not happy either. Plans must be made and mothers to survive. Lots of craziness, action, and watching Lou step up and not fold. I was hooked from the beginning and glued to the end to see how it would unfold. Not disappointed at all as things get hotter and crazier. And the mafia angle is here...

Lou and her guys are on a runaway rollercoaster ride with all the things her Mom is throwing at her.
Trying to make her jump through hoops and threatening her guys.
Eva Chance left us with a distressing cliffhanger.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This unique combination of sports (figure skating) and mafia romance continues with plenty of twists, action, drama and suspense. I love how Lou is pulling on her darker side to deal with her mother. So eager for the final instalment.

I love Eva's books, but struggled to get into this series. Nothing in particular, just did not capture me as she usually does. Still a good read, well developed plot and charaters, good narration too on Audible.

So much more action and storyline in this book! Still don’t really understand Quentin being introduced to be part of the family.

Amazing

This series just keeps getting better and better. It picks up right after the cliffhanger from book 2 and it's go, go, go the entire time. I kept wondering if Lou was just going to give up but she's strong, capable and stubborn. There's a lot of action in this installment as well as a few surprises, some good and some not so good. Just when you think that maybe things have calmed down we get that ending! Can't wait for the next book.

OMFG what did you do, those poor guys took a beating in this book, did any of them come away unscathed.

This one picks up right where book two left off, Luciana is exactly where she doesn't want to be and she's alone.

She grows more into her role of mafia princess and forges some allies which I hope to see more of, because I love a good character crossover!

I'm honestly not sure what I want from the next book, I mean can she have it all? Does she want it all? Does she only want to skate?

Our harem is fully formed now and i look forward to seeing them grow together in the next book from the bonding in this one.
