Over all the series was pretty good. I highly recommend reading the Welcome to Hell Series before reading this to have a better feel for the world and characters. I stopped reading that series around book 9 and there were references in this series that were new to me and I suspect were touched on in Welcome to Hell or the Hell's Son and Hell's Daughter series.
Having read the full series I'd have to say books 1 and 4 were my favorites (even though I didn't love Book 1 it's still way better than 2 and 3). Overall I feel like the relationships are kind of rushed. Book 4 kind of ends with a lot of questions, which was annoying, and doesn't appear to be a Book 5 anytime soon.
My impressions of each book:
Book 1 - Pushing Up Posies
Ok, I really liked the idea of this concept but so far the execution is just ok. If you haven't read at least the first few Welcome To Hell series books I think you'll be even less impressed. I have read several from that series but didn't finish it so there seem to be a few spoilers in this book and also it's a little confusing with the prologue if this is your first intro to this entire world. Anyway, that said, I felt the prologue was a bit long and felt it took a bit to get to the point of the story. I felt the two main characters were a bit cardboard cutout with no real depth (it's a shorter book but still felt there could have been more) plus Posie's character is a complete contradiction. She's supposed to be this super polite and shy person and then is snarky to her new neighbor - ok she's got a little backbone, that's fine, but then she's like all "in your face" to an angel and it just didn't seem to mesh with who she was supposed to be at all.
I also understand that in this world the guys in hell are actually the "good" guys while those from heaven leave a bit to be desired but I feel she went over the top with that concept as the angels aren't just "sanctimonious pricks" as described in the books they're condescending and rude at the minimum and villainous/murderous at the extreme. I just wish there had been more even competition between the reaper and the angel than reaper = best choice and angel = horrible choice. Too black and white and simplistic.
I also wished we'd seen more of what a Reaper is and can do. He has a cool cloak that protects him, he can seem to phase in and out of this world and shepherds souls to Hell (what about heaven? those undecided?). And why are reapers associated with Hell? Shouldn't they be more "impartial"? That's never explored.
Book 2 - Sweeping Ashley
Ok, I again, continuation of an interesting concept but the execution didn't get any better. Compare to all the books, this was my least favorite. Comparing it to the first book in the series it kind of felt like I was reading almost the same story - except now the snarky woman is a witch and the handsome reaper is less refined. Other than that, it kind of felt too similar.
Again, the female character is a complete and illogical contradiction but in this book it's much worse. She's described as a "neat freak" and acts like a germaphobe -- but I guess if the guy is hot it all goes out the window? No, it doesn't and certainly not that fast. If she'd been characterized more as picky (which she also was), that would have been fine but she literally went from not shaking his hand - because you know, germs, eww - to being all over him a short time later.
We don't really get anything more about Reapers and what they can do (we sort of do but it didn't feel like enough), but we do get more of an explanation about angels and what the rules are for "relationships" with humans; however, it is a little vague.
I also initially was happy that the angel in this story started out as real competition for the reaper and then he turned homicidal. WTF?
I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars because the unlikeable heroine and how the angel went off the rails (worse than book 1) but gave it 3 because I did like Derrick and the .
Book 3 - Contempt of Kourtney
It was a fairly quick read. I liked it better than book 2 but felt the first book was still the best. It felt really rushed at the end. I was on the last chapter and hit the epilogue and actually thought I'd mistakenly skipped a chapter.
I also liked the characters but felt like Dwayne was basically Derrick from Book 2, without as much good dialogue and personality. I don't know, maybe Dwayne needed a little more depth somewhere. I did like that he was honest about what he was from the start.
I got a bit confused, too, about Lakely and the "woman" in the silver cloak. I don't think they're the same person. If not, then a huge drop of who/what the woman is and why she's doing what she's doing. None of this is even touched upon in Book 4 so it's a very annoying cliffhanger.
Book 4 - Knocking on Helen's Door
An interesting premise and some better execution but still liked Book 1 better. This book does give more explanation into the rules for angels and beings in general. The book of beings was kind of cool. While we see some things sort of resolve this book raises WAY more questions than it answers - including Gaia acting weird, granddaughter Lucinda, the fog in Hell, and more - which wouldn't be so bad except there is no Book 5. This book seems to have come out in 2021 and there isn't a new book in the series expected according to her website, so this was kind of annoying to have so many cliffhangers - which is why I didn't give it 4 stars.
It's still a good book and worth reading but know going in you're going to be irritated by a lot of mysteries.

Love box sets for easy reading with no stop to the storyline. Didn't love this enough to get the audible versions though.
1 - PUSHING UP POSIES
Fun idea and great to have a side series from Hell.
But it just fell flat, even with Lucifers antics.
I’ve never been a fan of Bambi, DNF her book and she is annoying in this as the boss of Grim Dating.
Though I loved how Posie could SEE everyone and her telling off the angels was brilliantly funny.
I would have liked a bit more explanation of her childhood. Did the medication make her switch of from the world? why did she suffer from anxiety? those were important factors in who she is now.
I hated what happened to her at Raphael’s meanness, what a ratbag he was.
But the missing conjoining words, and there were lots, was truly annoying. Something a good BETA reader would have picked up.
2 - SWEEPING ASHLEY
Okay if a bit of a rinse and repeat of book one.
Just couldn’t like Ashley. She is a case OCD taken to OTT amounts.
And once again a heavenly angel acts untoward in his actions.
I’m sure they are not meant to go around killing humans as as happened in both books.
I found myself more interested in Lucifer and his two young babies.
3 - CONTEMPT OF KOURTNEY
Probably my favourite so far.
Only because the heroine wasn’t killed by an angel this time, and once again we had a bad angel.
Entertaining read with likeable characters and I enjoyed the plot off this one, though once again I was more interested in Lucifer and Gaia’s going ons.
Wonder what happens to Lakely?
4 - KNOCKING ON HELEN’S DOOR
Helen’s naïveté, though believable, was annoying for too long. She was nearly murdered by another angel and still believes.
But once the truth started sinking in, lots of fun times.
I liked her and Julio together, even though everything happens in a short space of time.
Lucifer was up to his usual machinations but I’d really like to know what is going on.
So many hints/plots of different things going forward happen in this book, but no answers are given.
Where is Charlie?
What will God/Elyon do now he’s escaped confinement for his lies and misdeeds?
What is the fog?
Will the rings of hell return?
So many unanswered questions.
Let’s hope Ms Langlais answers them.
Although it’s been 5 years since this book was written and I’ve not read anything that continues this interlinked series, or answers any of these questions, as the author has gone off in other directions with her books.
