Notorious Texas hellion Abby sets out on a passionate campaign to prove to Major Jonah Tremain, the man of her dreams who is searching for a proper lady to be his bride, that she is the perfect woman for him despite her hoydenish ways. Original.
Evelyn Gee was born on 1939 in Texas, USA. She makes her home in San Antonio with her husband, Jim and their son, Jason.
She signed her novels as Constance O'Banyon. She also wrote as Micah Leigh with Texan writer Emma Merritt. Her books range from historical to contemporary and include several novellas. Many of her books have been published in trade paperback.Among her many awards, she is the recipient of the 1996 Romantic Times Career Achievement Award. She says: "I have always loved history, and I loved storytelling — it was only natural that I would one day put them both together. I must have lived in another life and time, because when I write, I can almost feel I was there. My favorite part of writing is the research. Whenever possible, I will go to the place I am writing about to walk the land and smell the air."
I used to love these cheesy little books. Now I have read others that I have ruined it for me. Liked the characters, liked the story, just had a hard time with the book itself.
Well I thought Abby would be more of a spitfire, but she ended up being more of a homewrecker and all she did was whine about it and pretend to be friend with Patricia. I really hate homewrecker and the fact that she whined and said that she can't helped it continues to basically keep going to Jonah despite her spitfire-like character is annoying. It's like half way through her character loses its backbone and willpower and complete becomes a pushover. I couldn't handle it.
The Half Moon Ranch books are about the Hunter family. Moon Racer is the third book in the series. This book is Abby's story. It was an entertaining story even if some of the situations seemed contrived. Looking forward to the fourth book and the conclusion of this story. Hope that the evil Edmund Montgomery gets what's coming to him.
This book was so exciting. Abby wore men's pants and trained horses on the ranch she grew up on. She meets Quince's best friend Major Jonah Tremain. Sparks flew and kept sparking all the way through the book. Love this book and need to read more in the series.
This is one of my all time favorite books and it pulls on my heart strings every time. It's my go to when I'm going through things. I absolutely love Constance O'Banyon.
I enjoyed this book. Of course I am an avid horse lover so it was right up my ally. The characters were real and the story was a "couldn't put the book down"!
This was my favorite in this series so far! I absolutely loved reading about Abby and Jonah!!! Beautiful love story full of family friend and adventure!!!
This was ok. A nice romance about Abby a girl who grew up a tomboy on a ranch in post-civil war Texas and Major Jonah who rides into her life. They have a hate to love relationship and are full of doubts about their relationship or lack thereof (he is engaged to another woman back East). Very light on the sex scenes and nothing very graphic. I disliked the villain, he reminded me greatly of the old-timey cartoon of the man dressed all in black, twirling his evil mustache, and kidnapping women and tieing them on railroad tracks - he was just too two-dimensional. Gorgeous cover though! I am seriously obsessed with O'Banyon's covers.
This story was exciting up until the end, then the ending left too many unanswered questions. what was the father doing that he couldn't make it back for his daughters wedding, what happened to the banker?
