Interessante ma non all’altezza.

Ho amato profondamente il primo libro di Dune ed è stato piacevole dare un occhiata al passato dei personaggi principali, ma non ho apprezzato la resa che hanno dato a molti di questi. Primo fra tutti l’imperatore, che sembra più un ragazzino viziato e annoiato piuttosto che una figura in grado di tenere in scacco molte casate e il loro destino.

Se amate la saga è sicuramente da aggiungere alle vostre letture, ma dopo averlo terminato non ne sentirete la mancanza.

I just read the original Dune series by Frank Herbert and wanted to give the Brian Herbert books a chance. In my opinion these books just aren’t worth reading, they are fine but just take away from the (WAY better) Frank Herbert books. If you are really craving more Dune it is a fine option, but I think it is just better to stop after the original six.

Una delusione. Dei tre libri, il primo è discreto, il secondo mediocre, il terzo pessimo, infarcito di banalità e noioso. Lettura sconsigliata. La scrittura del figlio di Herbert è di sicuro più scorrevole e moderna di quella del padre, ma i contenuti fanno sembrare i suoi romanzi come la versione Disney di quelli del padre. Emozioni, poche, parole, decisamente troppe.
