A very powerful, true to life romance. The story bring us back to highschool in the 80s with all the great music, glam and glitter only the 80's could offer.

I highly recommend this beautiful, funny touching book to any generation.

The main characters Sally and James were spot on and true to the 80s. I really loved the storyline and the ending blew me out of the water.

I honestly can't wait for book two in this series to arrive. Great Job, Debby 🤙😎

"May I Have Your Attention Please" is a heartwarming coming-of-age story that can be enjoyed by readers of any age. I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the lives of Sally, James, and their friends as they faced relatable challenges. While those who experienced the 80s may appreciate the references and nostalgic moments, I believe it can resonate with readers of all ages.
James never expected to fall in love with Sally, but it happened on the first day of junior year. They were acquaintances in junior high, but Sally went to a private school for a year, and now she's back. Something has changed, and it only took three days for their romance to blossom. James and Sally navigate their emotions and the challenges of high school, including social inequality, family addiction, and mental health issues, all while trying to stay focused in class. They rely on their close-knit group of friends as they discover the joys and surprises of first love. However, can their relationship survive?
Throughout the story, they learn about the importance of loyalty and cherishing first friendships. This authentic love story transports readers back to high school in the 1980s, with all the iconic music, fashion, and culture that defined that era.
I am looking forward to reading the next book in the "McKinney High Class of '86" series, which follows seven childhood friends as they navigate life into adulthood.

This book brings you back in time, in all the best ways.

Reading James' and Sally's love story is like listening to an older sibling reminisce of their 1980s love story.

Easy to read, relatable, and fun, this novel feels like you know the characters before you ever began. We all know a Jack, a Sally, a Howie, and an Andie.

Fans of Sweet Valley High and Hallmark first love movies will love this story.

This was such a great coming of age book. While I was only four and five years old during the time period this book took place, it still brought back memories from my high school days.

This book is not a genre I typically read, but there was a lot to love about it, even for someone like me! The 80’s nostalgia was fun, and I found myself rooting for the main characters as the story went on. Strangely, (maybe?) my favorite part was the sibling relationships in the story—they were really well-drawn. I’m glad I read this book.

A sweet coming-of-age teen romance. Set in the 1980s, Debbie Meltzer Quick rebuilds that decade through great descriptions of styles, fads, and major social happenings. The characters are well-written, the dialogue natural, and the story easy to devour in small quick chapters.

Main characters Sally and James have known each other for years. They had no romantic interest for each other until after Sally spent her last year in junior high at a different school. During that year Sally blossomed from a shy, skinny girl into a lovely young woman. A woman James can not ignore. While the two build a relationship they must also navigate the typical ups and downs of high school, work, and family life, as well as the cultural quirks of the 80s. If you enjoy YA romance, this is the book for you!

I loved this sweet reminder of my past. All the references to the 80's, really were nostalgic for me. My family had a large oversized station wagon that I got the joy of driving when I got my license. The reminders of all the great musical artists of the time, help set the mood. This was a wonderful read even if you didn't have the delight of spending time growing up in the 80's.
Sally and James meet again in high school after Sally had gone to a private school the year before. That year changed both of them and the second they see each other again, they are drawn to each other. This coming of age romance story was very well written with multiple POV's and raw teenage emotion.
