The new school year has arrived and the kids will be back in school. Charlotte takes flowers to the local nursing home and finds herself taking Ruth, a resident and the the activities director to the clinic where she has a baby. Charlotte ends up with a 2 hour a day job as activity director. Enlisting the kids to help is no easy task. Emily hates it and wants only to work on fashion design, Christopher needs a topic for his school newspaper. Sam is just miserable, he doesn't want to go to college he just wants to play soccer. Bob is cranky because Charlotte isn't around as much as usual. She is hurt because she has rediscovered what she once wanted to do and loves this job. She also realizes how much she has loved her life with Bob. Bob realizes how much Charlotte has done for the farm and him and realizes he hasn't appreciated her contribution. Ruth and Charlotte become friends. Helping out at the nursing home benefits the kids. Emily has her art project, Christopher his article. Sam starts seeing things in a new way. With the kids going back to school, Charlotte wonders what would her life had been if she had become a nurse instead of a stay at home farmers wife and mother. She gets offered a temporary position as activities director at a local senior home, does this make her want a permanent job there? Meanwhile Sam wants to play with a soccer club but first needs to start looking at colleges before Bob will let him join the team, also his relationship with Arielle is having some problems. Christopher is trying to find something interesting to write about for the school newspaper, Emily too has an assignment, can she figured what she can do for her art project? Charlotte and the grandkids meet an interesting woman at the home, Ruth, how does she affect everyone? Read the book to find out. A real good book!

This is a sweet story of new beginnings and the need to be appreciated, no matter your age or experiences. In many ways it reflected the changes that have happened in my life as I have become a "senior citizen", and underscored how lucky I am to be right here, right now.

Charlotte Stevenson has her hands full as a farm wife, helping raise her three grandchildren since the death of their mother. When a random volunteer effort at a local nursing home becomes a temporary part-time job, she finds herself questioning her life choices and wondering "what-if?" she had made different ones. How everything sorts out along the way makes for a Good Read.

As always, I really enjoy the books in this series. They are a great bedtime read. Nothing too exciting to keep me up, but interesting enough to keep me reading.

Book 13 in the "Home to Heather Creek" series.

A new school year has begun. Charlotte had plans to make a list of the items she's put off while the kids were home for summer vacation. Her plans get derailed - at least for a time.

Sam has been insensitive and things have changed for him as well.

Emily and Christopher have school projects but are at a loss of where to begin.

I love this good, clean series. It's Christian without being overtly so.
