One of the things this book does so well is not make assumptions about the reader’s knowledge base. It exemplifies clarity in that way by starting at square one with concepts that might seem overly simple at first but build a foundation for the more complex concepts introduced later on. While some readers might not fully appreciate that, others very much will. Not everyone has a foundational understanding of visual tools, and plenty of people might think they do but have misunderstood the basics, so I think this approach is completely appropriate to the text.

I do a lot of presentations and am very language-based in my head, so I appreciate the reminders that less is sometimes more with text and to add more visuals instead to increase engagement.

Great guide all around!
