decent primer/beginner's introduction for making cocktails. i do not think it is exactly designed to be read cover-to-cover but i think if you do you get a basic understanding of mixing cocktails & have a knowledge of how to make to standards: Manhattan, martini, old-fashioned, sidecars, negroni/americano et cetera.

as you get older, binge-drinking, bar-hopping, well shots and cheap beer swilling gets kinda played out. sometimes you want the quiet moments of a party while relaxing on a bearskin rug by the fireplace w/ a nice hot toddy, discussing w/ your 3rd trophy wife how you think you can shave a few points off your golf game. sometimes you gotta just grow up...
