Jeremy Mason (Jerry)—an ideal son, brother, and student goes missing from his very own house one night. An investigation that deflates with no leads. There is no ransom demand or death threat. The Masons are whipped by grief, confusion, and hallucinations. Their only support in these dire times is Mrs. Jane Davis the elderly neighbour, who loves the two children dearly. After six months of pining for her dear brother, Macy Mason finds a clue; words scribbled in his favourite novel—I Will Return – To Me. I Will Return - To Me by Shaljami Ahmed is a suspense thriller set in the quaint town of Redbarrow Woods. This mind-bending tale of love, loss, jealousy, yearning, and grief allows us to walk through the darkness of minds and space. And in this journey, we discover how far one goes for the love they hold on to long after it is gone.
One night, Jerry Mason goes missing and his family - father, mother, and sister - are left shocked. The police investigation begins, neighbours, are investigated, and stories are spun to figure out the mystery behind the disappearance of Jerry. On top of that, a cryptic phrase follows investigators - "I Will Return - To Me." Where did Jerry go? And why?
The book starts with the mother being anxious and slowly builds up to the point where the boy goes missing. The unfolding of events adds dramatic twists to the plot that gets unnerving with its progress. On the chase of Jerry, we also read Macy's monologue where she is flitting between her past and what's happening in the present. Besides, we are introduced to the lives of other characters that potentially might lead us to important answers.
Coming from a debut author, this book was a good ride. I liked the immersive narration that allowed me to get a hang of the plot and the developments. What I also liked the most was how it subtly hints at mental health issues and self-worth behaviours that could potentially harm an individual.
The author has woven a story that is both suspenseful and emotionally charged, drawing readers in with her vivid descriptions, captivating characters, and unexpected events. The characters are complex, relatable, and three-dimensional. The readers will undoubtedly find themselves invested in their struggles and triumphs.
If you enjoy books that keep you at the edge, definitely pick up this one.

My recent read I Will Return - To Me by Shaljami Ayesha is a crime thriller/ murder mystery.
The book is a story of a family whose son goes missing without a clue of what might have happened to him, which eventually turned out to be a kidnapping.
Let me start with the plot of the book. The author has written this book with minute details of character, events, situations and activities that occurred in the story. Overall the book was mysteriously eventful. The book is divided in three parts and I could only read it completely to know the real culprit. I tried to guess several times but all in vain.
I literally had goosebumps reading the story. I am surprised at the imagination of the author to write this book.
Thank you to the author for sending me this book. I had a good time reading it. I waited everyday to finish this book as I started but could not do it earliest due to some other commitments. I am glad to read this mystery novel.
The best part of the story was detailed description of each and every person, thing, situation and event. I loved the way how precisely the author penned each detail.

In the town called Redbarrow Woods, lived a boy, Jerry Mason, with his sister and his parents. Suddenly one day, he disappeared from his room at night. The window was broken.
Here is a Psychological Thriller with the undertones of Jealousy, Siblings Rivalry, Yearning for a son, and love of a mother.
With every twist and turn the mystery unfolds. It becomes more and more intriguing. The language and writing style is very subtle, which does complete justice to this Thriller.
I liked how the author kept the narrative short and concluded the story in a few pages. However the Author has maintained the thrill throughout.
If you are in a reading slump this one can get you out 🤗👍

His family, friends, relatives and neighbors were finding it hard to digest how a grown up boy could disappear into thin air with the door locked from inside. One day Macy his sister finds a clue in his room, " I Will Return - To Me" scribbled in the last book which he was seen reading.
There are many layers in the story. Macy has been depicted as a complex character with a lot going through her. It is irresistible and compelling story which highlights love, loss, grief, fear, anxiety, hate and envy.
The story delves into the complexities of human mind. The Redbarrow Woods, the place itself arises suspicious and mystery. The author leaves us in the middle of suspense. The plot thickens as we proceed further. In the starting I felt the pace of the book slow but it geared up as I continued forward. The narration is detailed and and beautiful. The twist and turns keeps us on the edge.
Definitely a page turner. The climax will leave you flabbergasted. If you are a mystery lover you will definitely love this.

'I Will Return -To Me' by Shaljami Ayesha Ahmed is a beautifully crafted novel that teleports us to to Redbarrow woods. It is a riveting tale of loss, love, jealousy, grief etc. Which allows us to discover the love they hold on long after it is gone.
It starts, when one night Jerry Mason goes missing and his family are shocked. The entire story is weaved around police investigation with several layers of mystery and suspense makes it an interesting read for us.
There is a subtle lyrical flow in her writing style that kept me engaged throughout the book. From plot-setting to character's development, author did a fantastic job by crafting them intelligently.
Overall "I will Return - To Me" is a thought-provoking mysteriously beautifully written novel. I really enjoyed reading this book with all sorts of emotions.

Shaljami Ayesha Ahmed has proved to be an amazing writer with this book. People fake around you so much that you tend to believe everyone around you is good. But is it always true?
Macy Mason from Redbarrow woods thinks the above for everyone around her. Suddenly her brother disappears with a lot of questions behind him. The story moves on very slowly at first but suddenly you hit a point from where there is no turning back.
The truth unfolds in such a pace that you as a reader will be completely immersed in the emotions that Macy is going through. The writing is beautiful yet it is powerful at the same time. The characters are written brilliantly. Just hold on till the story takes that pace and there would be no turning back from there.
