If you love fast-paced thrillers with lots of action - this is a book I recommend you read.
Sebastian Carter has just spent the past six years in prison – for a murder he says he didn’t commit. Now that he’s being released he’s out for revenge and looking for the person who set him up. Ava Harper has a secret of her own and when she gets a job caring for Lily Carter, Seb’s sister, she knows it’s here where she will find answers to her own questions. Living at the Carter residents has its perks when it comes to looking for answers. But when Seb first lays eyes on Ava there’s something about her that just feels familiar. Has he met her somewhere before?
Told in a captivating way, The Kill is a tightly-strung thriller that will have you hooked from start to finish. With so many twists that you will never see coming, and constant action, you’ll be entertained throughout. This is a truly fun read – an edge of your seat can’t put this book down type of read.
Seb is a likable character that you’ll feel for. Determined to not turn out like his father, Seb earned his money from property development. He always did things in accordance with the law – something his gangster father didn’t like. I think many will relate to the family dynamics and dysfunction that play out in the story. Each character is well-rounded and built from the bottom up with depth you don’t often see anymore.

I received an advance review audiobook for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you Evie Hunter and Rachel's Random Resources. I'm excited to be a part of this tour.
Wow! This my first book by Evie Hunter and is not my last. Evie is an amazing storyteller. This book is captivating with two riveting mysteries running along side one another. This brought a level of depth to this story and kept me engaged from start to finish. I’ve not read many gangland thrillers but think I should.
First, we have Sebastian, freshly out of a 6-year prison sentence for crime he did not commit. He is determined to find out who set him up. Second, is Ava who is currently living a lie. She wants to know what happened to her mother who walked out one day and never returned. Ava’s father tried to find her yet was unsuccessful when no leads developed.
Fast paced and told from multiple POVs, this book is full of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The red herrings had my all over the place and suspecting everyone at one point. The characters are well developed and likeable. The backstories helped me better understand them. I absolutely loved the final twist. It takes the book in another direction. I also enjoyed the descriptions. They are realistic and had me completely enmeshed in the story.
I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a well written and intriguing gangland thriller. I look forward to reading more from this author!

WOW what a great book, i loved it....Seb carter comes out of prison after serving 6 years for a crime he says he didnt commit and he is determined to find out who set him up and also who attacked lily his little sister.
Ava ,who is employed to look after Lily, has questions of her own. What are they? Who do they concern?
Seb and ava team up to get to the truth ..... But it isnt that easy,great story, kept me hooked to the last paragraph!!!! Highley recommend

Two tangled tales merge in Evie Hunter’s latest gritty revenge thriller. This fast-paced read had me glued to the pages. The characters were both delightful and loathsome. A must-read for anyone who a enjoys organized crime thrillers!

Ava is in love with the sweet child in an adult body but she has other reasons for taking the job. She’s hoping Seb will have answers for her when he’s released from prison. But she’s worried about his tough guy reputation, even though he hasn’t followed in his father’s footsteps.

A gangland crime thriller from Evie Hunter will always be a book I want to read. Especially when the cover looks as good as The Kills' does. I don't even need to read the blurb to pick the book up. Evie Hunter is an author whose books are always brilliantly written.
We meet Seb Carter, sent to jail for six years for a murder he didn't commit. Out and ready for revenge. Sebs sister, Lily has a new carer. Ava Harper has more than one reason for working at the Carter House. She has questions she wants answers to, and this is the best place to find them. The only problem is that from the first time seeing Ava, he is sure he knows her from somewhere, but will he work it out?
I was hooked immediately with this taut gangland crime thriller. I expect nothing less than superbly crafted characters, and that's what I got. Evie Hunter weaves a tale, so gripping that I read it in a day. I just couldn't put it down. The further I got into the book, the more the twists appeared, and they were some twists. Let me tell you!
Yet another fast-moving story from an author who is rapidly rising to the top of my 'have to read' list. Don't take my word for it. Just go read The Kill by Evie Hunter. If you enjoy a fabulous gangland crime thriller, she doesn't let you down at all.

The Kill, well what can I say except well done Evie Hunter, another scorcher of a thriller that has you page turning with speed to get to the next dastardly deed.
The dashing Seb Carter is determined to find who had the audacity to frame him for murder. Now he is out and he wants answers. Does this mean he will have to reconcile with his estranged father, Jason to get the answers he so desperately wants.
Then in comes Seb’s sister, Lily’s new carerr, Ava. She is a stunner who has made Lily finally feel safe after her brutal attack, Is Ava all she seems though. It would appear that she too needs answers and Seb’s family seem to be at the very heart of it all.
Evie hunter is fabulous at creating just that right amount of underlying threat that runs through the whole book. Everyone appears to have been involved at some level yet these characters are still highly relatable and believable. Who wouldn’t want some kind of revenge after serving six years for a crime you did not commit. The tension spills out of every page and the more I read the more I admired Seb and Ava. They made a great team and I would love to see them together in the future. An all round solid read.

If you enjoy gang thrillers, then this is the book for you! Told from multiple point of views, there are two mysteries going on at the same time, who set up Seb and what happened to Ava’s mother? While normally Seb does not like liars, he is intrigued by Ava and the reason for her taking the position and vows to help her figure out her mystery. When the missing pieces of the puzzles come together, I was absolutely shocked! I didn’t guess any of that from a mile away, and believe me, I was trying to figure it out along with Seb and Ava. I enjoyed both of these characters individually and together. I loved the softer side of Seb when it came to Lily. My only issue is that the big reveal happened so quickly, and felt a little too easily. Otherwise, a good read!

A story that has you going from the first page to the last. Sebastian was in prison for a crime he did not commit and once out he is out for revenge, but first, he wants to make sure he has the right person. He also has someone living in his home who is looking after his sister and she is not who she claims to be though she is doing a good job with his sister. Both people need to find answers and they will when you get to the end. In between, you have decent with his brothers and with others who think he might be weak after the time he spent locked up, not the case. A very good story, fast-paced, and has many good characters, a very good book. I received this book from NetGalley.com

This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last. Seb wanted nothing to do with his family’s criminal life, but after being wrongly accused of murder and being locked away for six years he would have no choice but to look into this murky world to clear his name. There are lots of twists and turns along the way for Seb to sort out. Will he ever got to the bottom of this mess or should he just get on with his life. A great read.

When Seb Carter is released from prison, after serving 6 years for a crime he did not commit, he vows to seek revenge. The book is well written and moves at a steady pace, with excellent characterisation. It kept me interested from the beginning, it flowed well but I felt the ending was just a bit rushed. I enjoyed it though and would recommend it. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

I have read all of Evie's books and they have never disappointed me.
This lady writes clear descriptions making it easy to follow. This book is another crime thriller with not too much violence, but theirs a heck of a lot more going on to keep the reader satisfied.

I found The Kill to be a well-written book with plenty to keep you reading.
I have read a couple of books by this author and I recommend giving this book a try.

A fast pace read; a must if you enjoy gangland genre. What’s not to love about Seb Carter? He did 6 years in prison for manslaughter (framed) and loves his sister who will always need his love. Definitely a fab read.

i've read a number of this authors books and I have to say they are very enjoyable. This one felt fresh with a gripping story line. A page turner that leaves you needing to read on.

As a devoted admirer of this author's work, I was beyond excited to join the book tour for this new release. This thriller about gang revenge was just as I expected it to be - packed with action, full of interesting characters and featuring a plot that had plenty of unexpected twists and turns. As soon as I began reading about Seb and Ava's life in the underworld, I quickly immersed myself in their world and the writing style captivated me with every chapter. This book falls short of five stars only because I have enjoyed other books from this author a bit more. Although this is what I think, I don't want it to stop you from taking the time to read this.
'The Kill' is available today, and a must read for fans of this genre!
