Shelby is the weak spot in these books. She’s constantly doing dumb stuff, getting herself and her team into danger even though she’s supposed to be the “leader”. All she seems to do is run around like a chicken with her head cut of shrieking “crap, crap, crap” 🙄🙄🙄 ughhhh

This continues with Chelby facing murder investigation, learning that Balk the head of the supernatural council is her enemy having enlisted the unseelie to aid him. Jonas has been taken and she finds that she is mated to him, though she must admit she has felt something all along but feels bad for Brody, but her team has her back as they head to the Spring court to attempt a rescue into the enemies lair, and she must help protect the Unseelie king...it just gets better..lol I look forward to continuing this story line.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. Will her newfound allies give Chelby the chance to claw back freedom and safety? Or will it be too late to save all that she holds dear? I guess we will find out. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I highly recommend to everyone.
Although Chelby has rescued her father and friends from Sector Nine, they remain in comas near death. Believing her foster father may have information on the cure, Chelby and Jonas break into his home office. Unfortunately, the general is dead and although his safe is open, several documents are found, one of which is the solution to the magical coma. Chelby’s foster mother and sister come across her and believe she is the murderer. While they escape, Chelby is now wanted by the human police. The best way to fight the murder charge is to prove she is innocent and a security tape has some leads. One of the leads is a shadowy figure in the room that Chelby never noticed. It is a Shadow Dragon. Once cleared, the PMC start looking for the shadow dragon, leading them back to Scotland. But there is more involved than the dragon, unseelie fae are also involved. A lot happens in this book that is caused by Chelby’s innocence, she’s still too young to understand how her actions can have some results. That’s a little annoying trait that runs through the books but not enough of one to stop my enjoyment. There is action, mystery, surprises and suspense in this quick, easy reading book.
The fourth in this series, the fast pace continues but the tone gets a bit darker as the dark forces press closer to the light. Yet the darkness brings the team closer together as the battle truly begins.
The downer for me and this is twofold. First and most annoying is Jonas‘s total lack of character growth. The rest of the team grow in maturity but he continues to be very immature and unreasonable in the way he controls his emotions. The second thing that is beginning to grate is the continual addressing her Pegasus Eros as “buddy“ over and over and over again when she is talking to him. Seriously? Otherwise, I am hopeful that book 5 will continue the story and perhaps Jonas can start acting like a man rather than a boy.
I defended the first two books from the harsher critics and even managed to get through book 3, without too much flinching. However, this fourth book is just so predictable that it’s terrible. A child could identify who the bad guy was going to be in book 1 and 2 … so it was no surprise with who it was and what happened.
I really don’t like leaving series unfinished as it hurts my neurodiverse brain - however, this one is now being happily left behind and will never be read again! Which is a very harsh criticism from me.
I am still unhappy with this heroine and her juvenile attitude. Also, still unhappy with how much this author takes her characters' emotions for granted. She really needs to get better at building the circumstances that lead to all these intense emotions believably within the story. Having said that, things did seem to improve a bit with this book so I have hope for the future of this series. I sincerely hope future battles involve our H and H fighting together to overcome their enemies.
The Hunt: Cupid (Paranormal Mercenary Corps Book 4)
The Hunt: Cupid (Paranormal Mercenary Corps Book 4) 💖💗💝💕💞 Chebly and her team need to find out who the shadow dragon and why he/ she killed her foster father Robert and what his plans are for the magical cross he is trying hard to get. This book is very incredible with a few added twists in it, along with action and I am looking forward to the next book to see how things turn out. Definitely recommend this book /series !!!! Now need to start book 5!!
The story was well told and had more than a few unexpected twists. There was one scene that seemed out of place and character, but it was essential to the story. Chelby continues to build her team and gather more allies. However, the foe that replaces Sector Nine is stronger and becomes the focus for this story and the book to follow. This was another enjoyable read.
Chelby and her team have to find out who killed her foster father and why so she does not get blamed for it. They also need to find out who the shadow dragon is and what his plans are for the magical cross he is after. This book is very good and had a few twists in it, along with lots of action and I am looking forward to the next book to see how things turn out.
Chelby is terrified of losing anyone else. She lost her mother when she was young. She lost her teammate Hicks to Sector Nine on a mission. So she has convinced herself the only way to save everyone is to take on all the risk. See how well that works out when the Unseelie come for her, she is framed for murder and a solo cowboy gets kidnapped.
this entire series is filled with errors and bad writing
There are multiple continuity errors which are annoying and disappointing. I expected better from Andersen. I am not going to go on about the bad writing but it would be helpful for the writers to get help. I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings but the writing needs work unlike the other books from lmbp.
This was an ok book and story line. Like many of the books in this genre/shared world, it was quick to ready with a long and arduous story line that ends quickly and decisively. Entertaining and worth the price as a Kindle Unlimited option. I wish these had more depth but appreciate authors using Kindle Unlimited.
I really enjoyed the characters and thought wow they are getting better and better. The storyline is getting intense the more it continues. The war is just getting started and the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Chelby and Jonas have survived again and again through this series. It really is like it a Fairy Tale. Awesome series, I can't wait to see how it ends.
Chelby and the gang face a dangerous adversary, the Shadow dragon! The adventure takes them to the world of the Unseelie to find a hidden cross and kidnapped partners. Lots of action!
