RootsMagic is the easiest genealogy software available, yet many people will barely touch the tip of the iceberg of RootsMagic's features. If you are one of these people, then Getting the Most Out of RootsMagic is the book for you. You start with basic data entry and continue by learning advanced techniques such as custom reports, citing sources, research tasks, creating user-defined facts, powerful tools, and much more. Mix that with time saving shortcuts, and you soon will have a strong understanding of RootsMagic and its hidden powers.

This is a terrible book about a terrible program. RootsMagic used to be a good program, but they ruined it when they completely redesigned it with RootsMagic 8. I bought this book to try and understand RootsMagic 9, but it’s just as bad as RootsMagic 8. The printing of this book is atrocious - the book can’t be read because it’s so poorly printed. I’ve read that the book was created in color, but they printed it in grayscale. The book is also nearly a reprint of books for earlier versions, but they changed a few things only to make it appear as if it was rewritten for RootsMagic 9. I’m now looking for another program.
Although RootsMagic 9 is not the newest version of this genealogical program, many of us still use this version. I found this work helpful in explaining differences since older versions. It also helped explain a few issues that I was unsure about in my own use.
My only suggestion would be that many of the photos of screenshots were difficult to read for me; the print was just so small.
Recommended for those using the program or considering purchasing RootsMagic.
