In a culture that promotes independence and self-empowerment, we are taught to stand on our own two feet, to "pull ourselves up by our bootstraps." What happens, then, when we trip and fall? What happens when we realize we're weak, or weary, or lacking wisdom, direction, or strength? Let's learn to live out (and promote) a different leaning. Leaning on Jesus. Leaning of Jesus is an eight-session women's Bible study that aims to teach women that they need they receive from the forgiveness and strength for today, direction for today and tomorrow, and hope for eternity. We lean into Him and follow His lead as He calls us into our vocations and other people's lives. Leaning on Jesus is perfect for individual or group use, and includes a Leader Guide, weekly study review, and daily readings.

I love this study and so does my church! Since I picked it up in January, so has a group that meets during our Sunday School hour, and a group that meets on Monday evenings. This study was set up in a traditional weekly then daily format so there was a theme for the week and then sessions for you to complete each day which makes it great for groups to meet and discuss or for individuals to travel through. One thing I appreciated about this study that made it unique was the "Leaning-In Action" or action items that would pop up throughout and give you things you could apply to your life. Thank you, Deb, for encouraging us to lean on each other in a culture so set on individualism!
