Such a helpful book for the more novice sewers among us! Excellent pictoral and written descriptions of 200 decorative stitches. I referred to this so many times in my crafting endeavours throughout the year.

Ok, so I don't know from where, but I had this sudden impulse to actually try to learn how to stitch, so I reserved a tonful of books regarding embroidery, needlepoint, and so forth, and I have to say, this one is THE ONE.
It explains the very basics, and includes almost all stitches possible, and how to make them. A few projects, and it's full of pictures, which helps a lot.
I wasn't frustrated with it as they explained how to do each stitch (which has happened with a few other books), and they did something, that me, seemed a great idea. In white work, they did the step by step in colour, so you can actually SEE what you're supposed to be doing, instead of looking at the pictures and thinking "ok, so I have to do, this and that, but really, it all looks white to me and I see no difference!".
And thankfully, it is not very heavy in weight (hey, I have to carry this books with me to the library and from the library, of course I'd prefer one that is not heavy).
So if you want to know where and when and how to make stitches and not feel lost on it, do see this books, it is very good. Seriously, don't read the reviews, go, get the book!

I am on an embroidery/crewel kick right now. This is a great reference book for all of the bazillion stitch options. Now I just need some creative inspiration to strike so that I can put the stitches with a design.

This book is definitely one that I'm going to keep next to my needlework. There were many stitches that I tried and feel pretty confident in using them. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves stitching.

Borrowed from library with the other book. the instructions for the stitches are not as easy to understand as the other one. overall still quite a good read for the extra knowledge on fabric and hoops for a beginner like me.

Quite impressive set of basic and advanced stitches. I am a complete novice and find this book very useful. The slovak translation is, however, incorrect, but you can understand everything from the pictures.
