Australian flowers are truly unique. Banksias and flannel flowers, wattle and waratahs all offer their own magic of colour, shape and texture. All across this country there is botanical beauty right in front of us.
Native flora and foliage offer a beautiful alternative in the sustainability-challenged cut-flower industry. Our diverse landscape and climate produce incredible flowers that inspire our gardens and fuel our creativity. Here are over 50 plant profiles with notes on growing, cutting, conditioning, arranging and drying, with florists’ insights on what makes them so special.
Bush Flowers will give you everything you need to bring Australian native plants into your home, and to see the bush around you in all its beauty.
I know all these natives well, and great to see a book promoting using Australian native flowers in floral arrangements, covering all the aspects. The paper is not glossy but fits with the native theme. The title implies you could get the flowers from the bush which is slightly unfortunate, as wild picking should be discouraged.
Beautiful flowers, beautiful book! I really enjoyed the insights and the pairings. I was looking at the book as a reference for botanical art and it was helpful but i imagine it would be just amazing for floristry.
Bought this book a while ago, it provides you with everything you need to know about native flowers, the varieties and bringing them inside to your home. A much better alternative to the much-challenged sustainability of the cut flower industry.
