I love phillippa gregory books - this is her first book - i didn't love it. I found the underlying storyline disturbing. this occurs early on in the book and persists throughout the book. While not a prude, I just couldn't wrap my brain around the concepts of this book.

I usually love Phillipa Gregory, but the dramatics of this book were too over the top for me and the writing not as interesting as her later books.

By no way it's the kind of litterature I used to read by this author, one of my favorites.
