The Scabs Trilogy in my rearview mirror, and Dead Hunger long finished, I introduce Emma's Rose: The Cave! It's my new ZOMBIE series.

It has been a while since I delved into the zombie world. I really enjoyed writing the Scabs Series, but something was pulling me . Perhaps they were dead arms, peeling and gray, reaching for flesh. My flesh.

As usual my stories are character driven. Emma's Rose is no exception. I hope you enjoy the whole new cast of characters, and the new adventure, along with the new zombies.

A HUGE thanks to all of you who have read any of my work.

Now ... about me.

Eric A. Shelman was born in 1960 in Fort Worth, Texas. He now lives in Cape Coral, Florida with his wife of thirty years, Linda.

Life is good. But it takes hard work.

Once again, although totally different from his 'Dead Hunger' series, which I totally love, Eric Shelman doesn't disappoint.
Frank Swanson, a ruthless serial killer, will have you liking him, then hating him a moment later -- or hating him by the next kill.
A Reason To Kill keeps you on the edge of the chair continuously, not wanting to put the book down until the last page. Highly recommend!

I like this so much because after a chapter or two it starts to read like true crime. I completely forgot that I was reading a mystery. It isn't necessarily a smooth read but it gets you there and has an unpredictable ending, at least it was for me.

Another amazing book!

I can not believe how Eric A Shelman continues to crank out such amazing books. You get so involved with the characters. Start out feeling sorry for Frank, a serial killer, then his captive, Olivia. After an incredible ride I was still surprised at the end.

WOW! Yes, that is what I said when I finished the last page. A great story, if you enjoy suspense, murder, serial killers and a well written edge of your seat thriller, this is a book you will love. Perfection A Must Read

Shelman's books are always imaginative and entertaining. This one is no different. He is always able to throw in unique and original twists to books that have you saying to yourself "I didn't see that one coming. Fans of the horror and psychological thriller genre can't go wrong with this story.

Unexpected but damn good

This was the last book I had to read to have all of Eric's and it caught me from the beginning. I didn't expect a serial killer book, I just started reading. But, I should know by now to expect the unexpected from Eric Shelman, lol. Great job. I loved it!

A boy kills his sister's molester and goes on to become a serial killer. I can see that. The journey that the author takes us on is a bit tense with lots of rough patches. Frank Swanson goes through life as a drifter, killing those who he thinks deserve it. He's gotten away with it for a long time because he doesn't stay in one are too long. The he accidentally shoots his sister-in-law and his brother goes off on him. All Frank wanted to do was stay a couple of days at his brothers house. he's on his way to visit his sister.Let's just say things didn't go as planned. The storyline is very good and it kept me quite interested. You know Frank is a total wacko and you really want to see him caught but not his brother. Some parts were more intense than others, so I didn't read the book before going to bed.

A fun and interesting story

A Reason To Kill is an interesting and fun Serial Killer story. This book reads like a first novel but because Eric Shelman is an excellent author it is a very good first novel. I have read more recent Shelman novels and in this tale you can see Eric finding his voice and developing his craft. The origins of the character is good and the characters come across as real people. The dialogue does not feel forced and is realistic. The pace is steady and does not drag even in the slower parts of the books. The characters are not ones that I rooted for but I was interested to find out what happened next. There is a good amount of violence but it is not gratuitous and fit nicely in the story. There is a twist at the end which I enjoyed. Overall I enjoyed this novel and I would recommend it to fans of Serial Killer novels and Mr Shelman.
