Thirty years before Dr, Sterling Mead and his wife, Dr. Tonya Mead started the Cenozoic Project to recreate extinct prehistoric mammals in the Yukon Territory; the newlywed couple began their careers at Scientific Institute of Chimera Studies in a remote region of upstate Washington.
In the nearby fishing town of Anchor Bay, Police Chief Dan Stone and his officer, Reba Roberts and her K-9 Zeke busily investigate a mysterious string of vicious animal attacks in the area.
Could there be a link to the privately funded animal hybrid research laboratory and are the Meads somehow involved?
Time will tell in the thrilling Deep in the Mongrels.
Really unnerving. Scary to think that this could possibly happen. Excellent writing by the author. I would have stayed up all night to finish this book. Fast paced with many twists and turns. The reader has to stay sharp to keep up with the story. The author did not let up on the action and suspense. He kept it going right to the end. Awesome story. Fantastic book.
This book serves as a prequel to the rest of the series by explaining how Tonya, Sterling and Morgan came to run the Cenozoic Project. As with the rest of the series there are terrifying creatures running around controlled by an angry scientist with an axe to grind. A thrilling read from start to finish!
I was a little disappointed by the ending, it felt like a cop out. But getting there was fun. Some parts of the story read like bullet points, and some of the characters had very little depth. That being said, I loved the concept of the creatures, and the pace of the book was perfect. I will be looking at the others.
Fantastic book, horror at its best. Gerry Griffiths is great.
Nonstop action, I could not put it down. I loved everything about, he is lone of the best authors around and I have slot of his books. You will get addicted too.
This book takes place when the Meads were first starting their research. Before they moved to the Yukon territory and begin the Cenozoic project. A crazed ex employee who had been fired by Godfrey Mattock is back seeking revenge.
