When a deadly virus upends civilization as we know it, a chance encounter for C-list fantasy writer Andy Rook helps him fight for his life. He struggles for survival as men around the world begin dying by the millions, and the battle to keep even a few men alive takes some very strange (and explicit!) turns, in this sex-filled tale designed to put a slightly filthier take on a pandemic covering the world.
In the epic erotic odyssey that started taking the internet by storm in mid 2020, author Devin McTaggart (aka Corrupting Power) spins a complex yarn filled with sex, violence and rock'n'roll, full of dozens of characters designed to make you think, "Well, as long as I live past the opener, his pandemic doesn't seem too bad."
Near decimation of the earth's male population, almost complete erasure of an entire generation, some pretty interesting intrigue and lots of sex of pretty much all kinds.
Covid definitely colors this book and it gets a little preachy in spots but who am I to judge. There's a lot of sex but it's not porn. There's enough story here that I'm not even sure I would even call it erotica. And, it's a pretty good story too. I am really curious to see where book 2 takes us.
Story uses porn-logic where all the women are essentially sex bots with no character development. The plot is basically non-existent. The only world-development is essentially "remember what living through the early days of the Covid pandemic were like?" but without introducing any real conflict or motivation for the characters beyond having sex. This story is just boring and the smut scenes aren't even very good.
The author pulls you into a fantastic, yet semi-believable world filled with loveable characters who each bring their own flaws and damage to the community. I found it to be a great escape.
