As a dweller in the Forgotten Forest, the reader makes decisions determining the course of the story after his pet beast becomes trapped in the manor house of the Master of Mazes.
This was my favorite book when I was eleven years old and I’ve wished and searched for it for years. My wish came true today and I got my hands on a copy that looks like it was loved just as much as my original paperback that I bought with my own money at the Scholastic book fair. It’s a choose your own adventure style book about a young man that follows his best friend into a mysterious manor surrounded by mazes. I’ve been reading it all day and lightly napping because it is really kind of a soothing book with rich descriptions of fantastic settings. Reading this as an adult also has the added bonus of recognizing that if you choose the option that represents wisdom, ethics, or etiquette you always win and get to leave with your friend to have more adventures.
