I want to claim her, own her, and ruin her.
Mariella is a young twenty something woman working at a casino while she goes to culinary school. She realizes she keeps being followed and it's starting to freak her out. One day while working as a cocktail waitress she runs into the owners of the casino and their colleagues, who also happen to be in the mafia. One of the owners, Vicente, appears to take an interest in her.
“Everything you do with me will feel wrong. I’m not someone who does anything with morals in mind. Nothing I do with you will be appropriate. Wrong is all you get.”
Vicente saves Mariella from her stalker one day as she comes into work and insists that she take a break from her normal jobs and come work for him for a couple of days. One of her tasks is to accompany Vicente to a club opening. He fails to mention that its a BDSM club, which gives her a bit of a surprise when they arrive.
A man can whisper in my ear about how pretty I am, but if he can’t fuck me to the point where I become a desperate slut, then it means nothing.
While at the club, Mariella witnesses something she wasn't supposed to, so Vicente decides he needs to keep her under surveillance 24/7 for her safety. Throughout all of this, there is undeniable chemistry between them, which leads to some VERY steamy encounters!

There was a twist in there that had me guessing! I was dying to know what exactly was going on! I was totally surprised by what it was. You'll have to read it to find out. As we progress through the book, Mariella really starts to gain confidence in herself and refuses to let Vicente treat her like a doormat. She was fabulous. I loved how strong she was and how she owned what she wanted.
I’m not just a girl you stuck your dick into. I’m the woman that allowed you the pleasure of being inside me. I’m the one who gave you permission to treat me the way you did, because it’s what I wanted. Everything we did was only because I wanted it.
Throughout the first half of the book, Vicente really just comes off as this tough unfeeling mafioso. Finally, towards the end I felt like we really started to get to know Vicente. Once you read the whole book, you understand why that was. He is a villain in this story. He's not a nice guy. He doesn't have good motives. But he does finally explain his motivations to Mariella and refuses to let her go. This was a very enjoyable read.
You have to know that I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anything, but before you think I’m being romantic you have to understand I want you in the most unhealthy way possible.

To sum up my feelings about Vicente thru 75% of this book is, fuck this, fuck that, fuck you, fuck me, fuck him, fuck everyone, fuck fuck fuck. Plain and simple. Let’s just say he’s an easy MMC to love to hate, and more often than not hate to love.
Now with all that being said, this was a great read.😂 This was my first MF romance from Isabel, and while it didn’t top Dysfunctional for me personally, it was still a fun read and I had a good time screaming at Vicente thru my kindle screen thru most of it. Now, while I love to hate Vicente, y’all know how I love a possessive and jealous MMC, and I cannot deny that he is in fact one of those. This book was surprisingly fast paced and it was easy to get hooked and pulled into the action and never want to come out.
If you are looking for a MMC that is open with his feelings to the FMC, sweet and even caring, you’re gonna want to look somewhere else, cause you won’t find him here. Vicente is hard, ruthless, and he hates everyone, even and especially Mirabella. I will say that while I did love Mirabella, I would have liked to see a little bit more pushback from her in regards to Vicente dumping her like literal trash, then having the stones to act like a jealous ass when he sees her with another man. She was a bad fucking bitch thru 95% of this book, so why is she so compliant for that? Luckily that was my only problem with the book, so it was relatively easy to look past in the grand scheme of things.
Now let's talk spice. While there was an abundance of spicy scenes(like 1 per chapter tru certain parts), they weren’t as descriptive, nor as long as the scenes in past books I’ve read from this author. But I could also be biased, and I’ve just fucked up my spice scale with all the dark shit I read.😂 Make no mistake there is D/s, BDSM, marking (w/ a knife), degradation and much more, so this book is in no way vanilla. I will say, with the emphasis put on ENMY during this book, I would have liked to see a few more scenes set there.
This was a quick and easy read that hooked me from chapter one, and like always I love Isabel and her books and I can’t wait to see what she brings us needy readers next!

This book was phenomenal!! What starts out as a simple danger as someone is following her, Mariella gets more then she bargains for. She's a simple girl, living with her two friends and working in a casino. Her life changes in a instant when she runs into Vicente.. Vicente, is a very dangerous man who has his hand in a lot of businesses, and knows many different people. Vicente has had his heart shut off to love. He just wants women for one thing and then its over... With Mariella, he feels something and wants more for her. I loved both characters in this book. I love that when Mariella found out the truth, she had her moment and moved on like an adult. I really love that. She knew she had to step back and handle things. It also meant time to think about Vicente and if she wants that life. This book is action packed with twists and turns. Also this book has a Hero who isn't afraid to tell people who his woman belongs to and vice versa. I really loved that!! I also was a little shocked that he did it as well. If there's anymore books in this series, I will definitely be reading more!!! Such a great book!!!

The Prince Of Darkness is Isabel Lucero's first exploration into the highly addictive world of Mafia romances. I was very excited to get my hands on Vicente and Mariella's story. Dark romances with morally gray characters are my thing & mafia romances are their playgrounds. This story did not disappoint. Vicente is not the "good guy" not in the slightest but Mariella isn't wallflower either, certainly not after The Prince Of Darkness and a little gentle (not so gentle) persuasion. This was a flaming hot age gap romance with some toe curling scenes. Isabel Lucero, is out here cutting all our energy bills in half with the amount of cold showers readers be taking.

This is Isabel’s first MF book in a while and her first book set in the mafia world but she did not disappoint!
I love her serial killers so I was fast to sign up for this arc 🙌🏼

The story of Mirabella the young student/waitress and Vincent the older underboss, is set in a world Mira gets entangled in against her will. She finds herself used as bate in the middle of rivaling mafia families for reasons she can’t explain.
This book is fast pace and to the point and there’s something happening on each and every page.
Vincent is your typical cold blooded, crude killer with a kink for control over his women. He recurs her and offers her protection from her stalker, who keeps showing up wherever Mira is. But soon enough Mira finds herself underneath Vincent begging for him to use her but Vincent is also that guy that pushes Mira to use her words, ask for what she wants and eventually boosts her confidence.
“You’re feisty but also submissive and your stubbornness keeps you from fully succumbing to it. You’re a beautiful girl with filthy thoughts and you think that somehow makes you ugly.”
“He gives me a proud smile. “Look at you. So confident in telling me what you want.”
The spicy scenes have kinks, control, degrading and some great chemistry between the MCs. Sometimes in a sex club Vincent’s owns. The plot is well thought out and gets pretty interesting 🫣

But, it’s more than just physical. Mariella starts falling for Vicente, and while Vicente doesn’t get invested in women, he can’t deny the pull he has towards Mariella. When things come to a head with dueling mafias, Mariella is left out of the loop of the truth and struggles with what she did wrong. Twists and turns and more drama take place, but in the end, they get their HEA in their own way. 🖤

This book wasn’t at all what I expected to be it was everything that I needed. This book would be rated 100000 out of 5 stars if I was able to put that many stars!
Vicente Moreno is daddy! He gives you that I’m gonna punish you but I’m also gonna take care of you comfort you need in a book boyfriend. He also gonna kill someone that touches you and he’ll burn the world down to find you.
Mariella I just really adored her! Her personality and her attitude. I love how Vicente got her to open up and use her words.
The spice that is in this book will leave you speechless.
This book left me in a chokehold til I was able to finish it but once I knew I was getting to the end I didn’t want to end at all. I do hope there will be more of Mariella and Vicente in the future cause their story isn’t over it’s just beginning.

Mariella has the feeling that she is constantly being followed. I just wished she took more initiative in finding out who was behind it. Sometimes she is gullible but then other times she goes for what she wants.
Vicente is a man that get what he wants. He doesn't even wait on anyone. He is strongminded but just like everyone has a heart. A heart he tries to hide because it will make him vulnerable. Then he goes and finds the light to his darkness.

This is my first read by Isabel Lucero and it most certainly will not be my last! Vicente's plan was to use Mariella for leverage over a rival family but things change for him because he catches feelings for her. He didn't plan for things to go this way. When Mariella is then put in danger, he doesn't care who he has to go through to get to her because he is pissed and noone is going to stop him in protecting her. I absolutely loved this story. They are hot together. This book is not for everyone so please check your warnings!

Warning.... READ the trigger warnings for this one. I can't say that enough, I don't personally have triggers, but many people do and that needs to be said.
Okay, this is Mariella and Vicente's 'love story'. It has it all, Mafia, romance, BSDM, and friends that always have your back. I really enjoyed this read. If it hadn't been for the need of sleep, I'd have finished it faster, but you know how life goes.
The dynamic and what you will do for someone that means the world to you is a theme in this one. Great read, definitely for the 18+ crowd tho!

The BDSM themes in this book had me FERAL like a street cat. Vicente’s mouth is FILTHY and i loveddddd it so so much.
if you love mafia or BDSM please give this book a read — it reads so well and you’re invested and drawn in from the breadcrumbs along the way that Isabel strategically sprinkled in!

The Prince of Darkness was a great book!! It’s dark and gritty. It’s fast paced. It’s hot. And it kept me on the edge of my seat. Vicente and Mariella are fire. Vicente is an alpha through and through. Add the twists and I loved it!

It's been maybe close three years since I last read an MF romance. However, when I saw the Prince of Darkness I had to check it out. It was such a deliciously dark read and had such a great time with this book. Mariella was really likable heroine and seeing her gain confidence throughout the story was wonder.
It was sexy and dark read with a twist that kept me the edge. Overall I really enjoyed it and look forward to more MF romances from Isabel Lucero.

This book had me in a chokehold! I don't read much mafia because I'm super picky with how they are written but this was so good!! Vicente was *chefs kiss* he was alpha, dark, moody...all the things. I loved their relationship and how it naturally grew. I'll definitely be reading more from this author! She has a natural flow to her writing and I loved it.

2.5 stars. I have many thoughts, but first I want to make a disclaimer. Dark romances aren't my favorite, so some genre conventions are annoying to me that others would enjoy. Also, for brevity's sake I will state opinions like fact, but they certainly aren't.
okay, are we ready?
First up, the premise is typical of mafia romances. Female main character, Mariella, in this case, is in danger and only our male main character, Vicente, can protect her. Spoiler: It's fake danger that Vicente made up to kidnap Mariella, which was just crazy enough to catch my interest. I was really struggling with the book and thinking about DNF'ing before we got that reveal. Thankfully, the book read super-fast and spent a significant portion of it recapping events from previous chapters. That is both a compliment and criticism. Easy read but to the point of me losing brain cells. The sex scenes were okay (sometimes getting close to being hot), but definitely in the dubcon realm. Plus, Vicente is a terrible dom- barely any foreplay and bare minimum after-care. He can miss me with that shit. One last thing, the messages in this book have the worst takes. For instance, when Mariella blatantly said that you should ignore your friends when they tell you your boyfriend sucks?? Like gurll he does. NO man is worth losing a friend over. Alright, I'm done ranting.

One particular incident has her running into none other then Vicente Moreno, the owner of the club she works in, and also one of the most dangerous mafia underbosses in the area. But dangerous also means people fear him, and maybe he’s what she needs to keep her safe.
Vicente is out for revenge… a revenge that has been a long time coming. Vicente will make sure his plan comes to fruition no matter what he has to do or who he has to step on to make it so. Mariella may be a main piece of that plan. But helping protect her, having her in his home, his bed and possessing her has brought on feelings he didn’t expect.
Prince of Darkness was my first read from Isabel and I really enjoyed this book. It had me hooked me from the beginning. This is one of those where as the story progresses you know something is going on behind the scenes and everything isn’t all as it seems… but you just can’t quite figure it out, and that really had me flying through this book until I had all the answers. This was action packed and suspenseful. Vicente was all alpha and brooding, he was controlling and possessive and the mouth that man has should be illegal. 😮💨 While Mariella was a bit naive in the beginning, I loved watching her come into her own and stand up for herself. I enjoyed the plot and the writing here and the spice was 🔥🔥. I look forward to reading more from Isabel!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

There are times I'm not sure I even want to because with him, I feel alive, even as I teeter so close to death anytime we're together. I made a deal with the devil for my own safety, but now I'm in his lair, and he's scarier than any threat on the street. It's wrong to want him the way I do, but I'll happily be consumed by the flames of hell if it means an eternity with the Prince of Darkness himself. Why she has not a clue and she sure does not like it. I don't even know how to tell you about this story and not give something away. I loved Mirabella. She was sweet and innocent and sure not involved in the world she is suddenly thrust in and she also has a stalker. Vincent of course is a cold blooded man who has no problem doing what he has to do to protect the family and he sure is going to protect Mirabella. You just have to read the book. It is fast paced has tons of twists and turns and hooks you from the first chapter.

Having read Ms.Lucero's work many times before i always look forward to picking up another one of her books! As soon as this one was announced it caught my eye right away and i started looking forward to it from that point on. I really enjoyed this story!
Mariella and Vicente's journey hooked me quickly! Mariella is working hard as she attends culinary school. It's at the casino she works at that her world collides with Vicente's. As their paths continue to cross and with danger lurking, will Mariella give into The Prince of Darkness?
This story had me glued to my kindle so fast! I admired how determined Mariella was and related to her so much. Vicente and his darkness had me falling hard. The memorable fashion in which Mariella and Vicente were brought into each other's lives was something i so enjoyed. I wasn't sure how everything would unfold for them which had me on edge with my heart racing. The chemistry between Mariella and Vicente set ablaze to my kindle and made my face all kinds of red! I loved how these two had me feeling every bit of their story with them!
With The Prince of Darkness, Ms.Lucero has created such a great mafia page-turner that brought uniqueness, steam, darkness, suspense, and oh so many feels! Her writing always has a way of staying on my mind. ❤️🔥

Isabel Luceros books never disappoint. Now she’s back with The Prince Of Darkness !!! A age gap Dark mafia romance and BDDM Lifestyle that literally grabs onto all your emotions so quickly and pulls at your heartstrings in ways you will not be prepared for The intrigue , the suspense, the dark , raw gritty and emotionally charged moments, the twists and turns, the steamy moments, the non stop action, the heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, it all just keeps you glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next I was so intrigued by both Mariella and Vicente from the moment I started. Two people who. Could not be more opposite yet end up being absolutely perfect together. He’s a mob boss who is a complete alpha - protective, domineering and vindictive. Mariella is going to culinary school while working a second job . When her life is put in jeopardy Vincente comes to her rescue and from that moment on both their lives change . I was speechless just speechless the whole way through. There were moments I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest and then so flawlessly Isabel puts it back together. There really are no perfect words to express what a truly phenomenal book this is , you simply need to read it and experience all its perfection for yourself

Incredibly hot, twisted, and suspenseful Prince of Darkness has it all and then some. From page one when Mariella is being stalked it sets the tone for what is to come. Mariella is living her very ordinary life, aspiring to be a chef, and living from paycheck to paycheck. It all seems normal except for a while now she has had some people following her for reasons unknown until the night Vincente comes into her life and turns everything upside down. Vincente, dear lord this man is one that oozes power, everything s3x-y and I am here for it all. When Vincente set his eyes on her there was no turning back from the intensity and attraction that bleeds off the pages. He is epitome of a dark hero that at times you may hate him, but you will love every minute of it. He is ruthless and carries it well while Mariella is a spitfire, yet submissive towards him and discovering herself under him. The different turns of the story take us on a twisted journey that burns the pages up and I’m not going to give much away because everyone needs to dive in and enjoy what Vincente brings to the table. If you love mafia reads with some very hot s3xy times, this will be your cup of tea. I won’t say it’s a dark read because to me my boys in Dysfunctional are a lot darker, but it does contain some themes others may want to check out prior to reading. Absolute perfection!!

The best kid of dark and toxic

I devoured this story and wanted more of Vicente and Mariella. Fast paced, with lots of hate, deception, secrets, and passion.
A slightly different set up than normal mafia families, Vicente and his partner Khalid are not releated by blood or heritage, but are brothers regardless, their family is made up of those they trust. In a chance meeting, Mariella first meets Vicente while she's working at the bar of a casino. She then bumps into him again trying to run from one of the men who have been appearing to follow her. He insists that she spends the day working for him where he offers his protection.
The forced proximity add to the undeniable tension between the two and it is explosive! There is plenty of spice and pushing of boundaries for both of them. In true mafia style there is deception and danger, with a couple of twists thrown in to keep you guessing.
I am not much of a mafia genre reader but I really enjoyed this story and the style of writing. The characters were interesting, though I would like to know a bit more about Vicente's family and background to give him a bit more depth.

Vicente is the underboss of the Kinmore mafia.
He’s dangerous, ruthless and without mercy. He’s sexy and successful and will slit your throat with a smile on his face. He was brought up in that world and lives in it proudly/
Mariella is studying to be a chef. She works two jobs to keep a roof over her and pay for her schooling.
She’s sassy and feisty. Her circle of friends consists of two people who are her best friends and roommates. She’s your normal twenty something year old. But what isn’t normal is what’s going on around her.
When Vicente comes to her rescue. She falls for him hook, line and sinker.
But he’s a sheep in wool’s clothing. And Mariella has no idea of the enemy in her bed.
A fast paced story. It’s exciting and a definite page turner.
It’s sexy and wickedly hot.
Mariella and Vicente’s physical attraction is off the charts and intense.
But so is the danger and the threats.
And they are on Mariella’s heels.
I finished the book in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down.

I really enjoyed this dark, twisted, and k1nky mafia romance.
Mariella works at a casino while attending culinary school. She meets Vicente, one of the owners of the casino and mafia leader. The two have an instant attraction, but things aren’t as they seem.
Mariella is a great character. She is hardworking and strong. She isn’t going to just fall into line for Vicente. I love how she stands up for herself and knows her worth. However, it was super fun watching her explore her more submissive side in the bedroom as well. Vicente is a cold and disconnected mafia boss, who gets blindsided by his feelings for Mariella. He is dominant and controlling and no one is allowed to touch what is his.
The plot moved quickly and there were some unexpected plot twists. The spice was fantastic. My favorite was a primal scene where he chases her and then claims his prize. Vicente is also a co-owner of a s3x club and it would have been nice to have a bit more of the book take place there.
I also really loved the found family aspect of Vicente’s diverse mafia crew. I really hope the author writes more within this world!

A great dark romance featuring a man who borderlines on toxicity and a woman who loves to get on her knees for him. The story is very fast paced; something is happening every chapter, and this made for a very addictive read.
Mariella surprised me - for a hot minute I thought she was just going to be a doormat and do whatever daddy Vincente asked of her. But as the story quickly progresses and grows, so do her balls. I loved this about her 🖤 her confidence grew along with the story and I enjoyed every moment.
Vincente (aka Daddy V) seemed like a typical run-of-the-mill dark and possessive MMC who loves control. Don’t get me wrong, I’m here for it. I am. There just wasn’t anything about him that made for a standout performance.
In saying that, the chemistry between these two was 🔥🔥🔥 great spice, great cooked romance. M and Daddy V had some absolute swoon-worthy moments.
This book was even better after a couple of glasses of wine. Cheers 🥂

I absolutely love dark mafia romance! This book was so perfect, a page turner and well worth the read. My first book I’ve read by Isabel Lucero and I’m hooked! So many twists and turns, and a lot of surprises. Mariella and Vicente sure do challenge each other in this book. She also lives with two roommates, and is going to culinary school while working elsewhere. Mariella is being chased by someone. Vicente comes to her aid. This comes with certain stipulations though. Wait til you see! What is Vicente’s angle? It’s definitely twisted! How will Mariella react. There’s an electric spark between these two also. Vicente is a mafia boss and doesn’t do relationships-he’s also into BDSM. The scenes between him and Mariella is so steamy, hot, and it seems like Mariella obeys very well. I was kinda shocked at how this story ended, but in a good way. Maybe just maybe Mariella is the one for the Prince of Darkness. I just wanted this story to keep going and never end!

Mirabella is a young waitress at a casino just doing her thing when she finds herself being caught up in a brutal world when she's saved from a stalker by Vicente, and she's pretty much his at this point. He's definitely a morally gray hero to dark as his world isn't one for the weak, and yet, she's drawn to him despite her best efforts not to be. There's no doubt they have heat in spades, but it's filled with a lot of kink which I didn't understand fully, but somehow it works for our girl here. I've already said something about this world, and that's the part that I love, the dark & twisty with a kicker of action since that's totally my jam. I have very few triggers so The Prince of Darkness was right up my alley, but please check the TWs out before taking it on. This story was an addictive page turner that I couldn't get enough of at the end of the day so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was the first MF read I have read from this author in a while and definitely the first Mafia read I have read from her.
This book was fast paced with lots of twists to the story.
Vincente was your typical mafia Don with a penchant for controlling his women.
Mariella was his and she definitely had a penchant for degradation and BDSM fun. She also had daddy issues so the age gap fit in well.
Mariella is being stalked and in steps Vincente to be her protector. Setting out a convenient forced proximity situation.
The spicy scenes in this book are fully of kink, degradation, BDSM play and control.
There were plenty of twists in this book to keep me interested and it was well written.
Anyone with a trigger should read the trigger warnings at the start.

This was my first time reading this author but it definitely won’t be my last! It was packed with action, spice, and great characters. Mariella is a culinary student working at a casino to pay for school who finds herself being followed. When the mafia man who owns the casino comes to her rescue, sparks fly and secrets are revealed.
The chemistry between these two is immediate and I absolutely love Vicente’s dirty mouth. Mariella is faced with a lot from both him and outside forces and she handles it all in stride. I also was intrigued by the side characters, specifically the men who worked for Vicente, and I wonder if we might see more from this world in the future!
Overall, an exciting and steamy read that I would definitely recommend! Fans of hot mafia romance will enjoy this one for sure!
