This is another delightful book from Holly Webb. Beautifully illustrated, it tells the story of Isabelle and how, during a visit to a zoo, she sees a beautiful snow leopard. This shy creature inspires Isabelle to buy a christmas decoration made by families living in the natural habitats of these elusive animals. This leads to an adventure she’ll never forget - but you need to read the book yourself to learn more about it!
The story has characters that other children will easily relate to. As the story progresses the reader learns more about the snow leopards and the people who live in their regions, the way conservationists are encouraging people not to hunt these animals and so much more. The story flows well and the educational aspects are integral to it, a delightful way to help children learn more about conservation, endangered species and different cultures. A really enjoyable story in its own right and one that could easily be used by parents and teachers to help inspire children to learn more about these and other creatures, including how everyone can help protect them. The letter from the author at the end of the book shares how a visit to a zoo inspired her to write this book and gives details of websites where further information can be found. Highly recommend!
Thanks to the authors, publisher and NetGalley, too for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
