About the author

Gonzalo Alvarez is a First-gen Mexican-American graphic novel author, game designer, Illustrator and mesoamericanist from Port Arthur, TX, animating the stories of his Mexican ancestry.

He completed his BFA in Drawing at Lamar University and an activist immigration game installation, Borders, which gained international acclaim. Now he’s at work on his Aztec epic fantasy graphic novel series, “The Legend of Polloman.”

He has exhibited and conducted panels internationally at Sheffield Doc Fest, Worldcon76, Fresno State University, and more.

Gonzalo’s literary representation is Marietta B. Zacker from the Gallt & Zacker Literary Agency and his debut graphic novel series, "The Legend of Polloman," is soon-to-be published in 2021 and the sequel in 2022 by HarperCollins' HarperAlley imprint.
