Luna Perez just wants a quiet life, away from her famous family’s reputation. But when her brother’s fledgling racing team is in dire straits, Luna offers up her own inheritance to keep it going. Suddenly she’s part-owner of Team Perez, and she finds herself speeding into the spotlight where all her perceived shortcomings are on full display.

And worse, so is her loneliness.

Then Luna meets Devin Flynn, a driver who lives for scandal and attention. He’s crass, infuriating... and sexy as hell. Caught up in the glamorous racing world, Luna is thrown from London to Milan to Rio and back again—and thrown together with Devin more and more. When she’s with him, she doesn’t feel so lonely. But Devin is a playboy and clearly not interested in anything serious. Not to mention he’s her brother’s rival and totally forbidden.

Luna’s got to stay focused. Saving her brother’s team, her inheritance, and her privacy? She might just pull that off. But if she doesn’t hit the brakes, she may not be able to save her heart from racing’s most eligible bachelor.

This was so good.

I'm a huge Formula 1 fan thanks to my dad. Although I used to hate race weekends as a kid because he would hog the TV. Also I have a massive crush on Charles Leclerc (seriously go look him up) so I kinda imagined Devin to look a little like him.

I don't know if the author is a big racing fan or if she just did one hell of a research job, but it shows. Everything about this race wise, was perfect. The lingo, the way the racing world works all of it was flawless. Sometimes in sports romances it's obvious the author doesn't know the sport well but this was not the case here.

This is a slow burn as in it actually is a slow burn. Sometimes its a slow burn but then the characters get together in chapter five. But this actually was slow burn.

I loved the way Luna and Devin's relationship grew. From enemies to friends to finally lovers. It was so much fun to read
I really enjoyed this.

I was lucky enough to receive an arc for the second book and I so look forward to reading it.

The plot itself was okay; it wasn't anything particularly memorable to me but it was still a simple and fun story. My main struggle with this book was with the characters, especially the mmc. There really was no development between Devin and Luna and their relationship happened so abruptly. Also, there were some things that Devin would say that made me dislike him and I just couldn't connect to his character. And for someone who said they were into commitment, I felt like he moved even quicker than Luna. There will be more books in this series but I don't think I'll be continuing with this series; it's just personally not for me!

Thank you to Grey's Promotions for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book stresses me out!! I was constantly waiting for the third act breakup or betrayal of some sort. IT NEVER CAME!!!! And I’m not sure how I actually feel about it! I’m so used to all the drama of that breakup and the happy reunion that I wasn’t even sure what to do with myself.

I really enjoyed this one! I think it was my first racing sports romance and I am here for it. I will definitely keep reading this series!

I had a blast reading this book. I fell in love with Devlin and Luna, and I really enjoyed watching their relationship progress. The banter between these two had me cracking up, and I loved that it made me do that. This is a fast paced, crazy ride, but it's one you won't want to miss.

She’s in for the Race of Her Life

Devin Flynn, playboy race car driver meets strait laced, no fun business girl, Luna Perez. And nope, it’s not love at first sight… far from it. But the journey to that happy-for-now ending is so much fun. This story may be centered on professional auto racing, but the real story is Devin and Luna. And boy, do opposites attract. Oh yes they do, but when you get to know them, they just may not be so opposite at all.

Luna’s the daughter of a racing legend who lost his life on the track. Now she’s helping her brother, Rafe, keep their dad’s legacy alive. They are doing their best to keep the Perez racing team afloat. But good cars, good engines, good drivers alll take money, a lot of it, and the Perez team is falling short. They need more sponsors.

Devin might be a playboy but he knows how to make money, attract sponsors, get publicity and invest wisely. He didn’t grow up with money like most race car drivers did. Devin had to work his way up the ranks. And who would guess, Devin thrives on being a trouble maker. Hey, any race car driver worth his grain of salt needs publicity, right? And publicity brings in the money Devin needed for his start.

Soooo, while he’s out turning heads, that strait laced business girl… not so much. Luna’s self-esteem is too low to think anyone will notice. But how wrong she is. She just needs some confidence, some help to come out of that shell, and Devin Flynn is the man to do just that. And that is a big problem…. see, they are on opposing teams.

Maybe it’s time to rev up those engines for the final turn. It seems the more these two are warned to stay away from each other, the closer the finish line is. Just watch out for the turns!

🤔 OBSERVATIONS:

✒︎ Would have liked more space on developing Devin and Luna. Both have stories to tell with touching backgrounds and a solid future, however we get very little of that. Being the first book in this series, we meet a LOT of people who probably will be featured in later books. It took me awhile learning who was whom and trying to figure out just what their roles were. At times the side characters got in the way of the main plot/characters.

✒︎ Poor invisible Luna …. so insecure, so self conscience, so self deprecating, she has no idea who she really is. All I’ll say is, Devin is a good teacher, and I’m not talking about the bedroom scenes. He knows the road to success and Luna benefits. Loved the little we got in those parts of the story.

✒︎ Devin and Luna have a lot more in common than what is seen on the surface. Is what Devin projects on the outside just a ploy to hide the real Devin deep within? Watch for the clues.
Was it that he needed that self-righteous, outgoing appearance to make it in the racing world? I’m thinking both Luna and Devin will be developed more deeply as the series continues. I look forward to that.

✒︎ I kept wanting Devin and Luna to one-up some of the ‘naysayers’. Why not tell them to go fly a kite and start their own racing team? They both have the skill, the money, and Devin knows how to obtain sponsors. They could pull it off easily.
… Or will Rafe get his act together and bring Devin over to the Perez team, like a smart business person would do? Hmmm, Rafe, you could win it all or lose it all, it’s up to you.

✒︎ Ugh…. Both Devin and Luna have control freak moms that need a good dose of understanding . Neither seem loving, only controlling. And what was that tiny bit in the book about Luna’s mother and stepdad separating? It almost causes Luna to do the unthinkable. Yep, Luna’s mother has her own story to tell. I’m sure it is sad and painful, but just look how it impacts her children.

✒︎ This is very different from other books I’ve read by this author. I’m looking forward to see where she takes the story in future books. I sense there will be troublemakers causing a lot of pain and choices. We do have hints of future trouble brewing from greedy and pompous racing people.

I was given an advance copy of this book and freely leave my review

In "Full Throttle" by Anna Albo, readers are introduced to Luna Perez, a woman yearning for a quiet life detached from the overwhelming reputation of her famous family. However, when her brother's struggling racing team faces a dire situation, Luna selflessly offers her own inheritance to keep the team afloat. In an unexpected turn of events, Luna becomes a part-owner of Team Perez, thrusting herself into the spotlight where her insecurities and vulnerabilities are laid bare.

Amidst this whirlwind, Luna crosses paths with Devin Flynn, a driver known for his appetite for scandal and attention. He exudes a mixture of charm, infuriating behavior, and undeniable allure. As Luna becomes more entangled in the glamorous world of racing, she finds herself jetting between London, Milan, Rio, and more, and increasingly drawn to Devin. Their connection helps alleviate her loneliness, but Devin's reputation as a playboy and his rivalry with Luna's brother make their relationship both enticing and forbidden.

The author skillfully captures Luna's journey as she navigates the challenges of saving her brother's team, protecting her inheritance, and preserving her privacy. Luna's determination and focus shine through, as she strives to fulfill her responsibilities while attempting to guard her heart from the captivating grasp of racing's most eligible bachelor.

Anna Albo's writing transports readers into the fast-paced world of motorsports, offering vivid descriptions of thrilling races and the glitz and glamour that surround them. The chemistry between Luna and Devin sizzles on the pages, drawing readers deeper into their forbidden romance. The story unfolds with a blend of heart-racing excitement, emotional depth, and a touch of humor, making it an engaging read from start to finish.

"Full Throttle" is a delightful contemporary romance that explores themes of family, identity, and the sacrifices we make for love. Anna Albo expertly crafts a narrative that keeps readers hooked, cheering for Luna as she balances her desires and responsibilities. If you're a fan of captivating characters, pulse-pounding racing action, and a forbidden love story, this book will leave you satisfied and longing for more.

This was my first Anna Albo book, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Luna Perez is a pretty serious girl. She doesn’t go out and party and much prefers to stay home and indoors. Her father was a racing legend, and her brother is determined to be just like their father. Rafe, her brother, and Luna own the Perez racing team, but they’re struggling to make ends meet.

Devin Flynn is a race car driver for an opposing team. He’s a total playboy, but he knows how to make money and get sponsors. When he and Luna meet, they do not hit it off. He’s rude to her and calls her boring, but he’s really not an a**hole.

He is told explicitly that Luna is off-limits, but he can’t stay away. Sure, he’s not pursuing a relationship with her because he’s not a relationship guy, but he can’t stay away. He keeps being flirty and playful with her and leading her on and there was a moment where I was so mad at him for what Luna had to see.

Anyway, I loved how he didn’t instantly go from playboy to being a relationship guy. He really took time to figure out what he wanted and was capable of and that was because he truly didn’t want to hurt Luna. Luna had always lacked confidence, but Devin helped her with that.

I really thought something was going to happen and they would break up, but nothing happened, so I enjoyed that. I do wish there was more to the development of Luna and Devin’s relationship though. I also would like to know more about Devin’s past as that was left unanswered. Hopefully it’s answered in the next book.

I was honoured to get this an arc
This was my first book of Anna Albo and I can’t wait to read more.
I fell in love as soon as I seen brothers rival and motor racing.

Luna being the daughter of a racer that lost his life on the track and her brother Rafe keeping his dad’s legacy by racing. But when they are trying to save the team, she has to get involved with the racing world again. She is thrown into a world where she feels alone more than anything. But to save her team, her dads legacy and her inheritance she does what she has to but getting closer to Devin was not part of it.

Devin being everything she is not… a playboy, rude, thrives off attention. But there is more about him, there has to be right? Devin hides his true self with his facade he has and the more time they spend the more Luna sees it but she can’t fall for him especially when he is her brothers rival.

This story goes through the scarifies we do for the name of love, family and trying to find yourself in a world that cares more about winning races being the villain then your true self. You would expect to root for Luna when goes to the struggles of glitz and glamour when she has responsibilities over powering her desires and how she is trying to balance everything out. Where she finds her self getting closer to Devin but doesn’t know what to do because he is definition of forbidden

I loved this race car driver romance. I have never read this type of story so it was a fresh of fresh air for me.

Luna is part owner of her brothers race team. She falls for Devin: the sexy bad-boy, man-whore who races for a competing team.

Devin gets his shit together when he realizes how much he truly cares for Luna but all the media sees is a publicity stunt.

I loved the banter and the growing friendship the two main characters had.

There are a lot of moving pieces with the two different teams with multiple side characters I had a hard time placing. And they travel all over the world constantly so trying to keep up was strange for me, but done well enough that it wasn’t distracting from the story at all.

I missed Jess in the last 30% but hope she comes back in more in book two.

I was not expecting this to be an open ending book! I wouldn’t say cliffhanger, but def open ended for book two to come in and save the day. I thought the series was going to be standalone books about the related characters. Shows me for assuming! 😂

It was a great read and I’m looking forward to The Chase. I have also already recommended this book to at least ten people and it just released yesterday!

Anna Albo is a new author to me, and I love fast cars and sports romance, so this was right up my alley.

I loved the ending (no spoilers)- it was cute and sweet, and left you wanting more. Book 2 can't come soon enough so I can see how things go for Luna and Devin.

I fell in love with Luna Perez, she was a sweet, and quiet girl who just wanted to help her family's racing team but stay in the background and not become too involved in the racing scene. That is, until she meets Devin Flynn, and she sees the racing world a little bit differently. She can talk to him about things she feels like she can't with her own family. He brings out the joy of racing again for her.
but there is one problem, Flynn is on the competitors racing team, and is off limits, but she allows herself to take a chance

read this one if you like:
*forbidden romance
*sweet main character
*racing
*bad boy/good girl
*player MC
*Grumpy/sunshine

can't wait for book 2

I’m a bit on the fence with this book. I mean its set in the world of Formula One racing so I expected a fast paced romance but as I was reading Full Throttle all I could think was that I was stuck driving in a twenty zone and waiting for something to happen. Right now I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt since it’s the first book in the Life in the Fast Lane trilogy so perhaps this book was more to introduce characters and set the scene for what’s to come but I hope they take their foot of the brake. None of the characters made any great impression on me, not even playboy driver and hero of the story Devin Flynn. He came across as more naughty school boy than philandering bad boy although I did feel sorry for him when the other drivers all looked down on him and his working class background for daring to enter their elite world. As for Luna, I just wanted her to stand up for herself and stop listening to everyone who obviously have their own agendas.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Devlin and Luna’s journey. Luna just wants a quiet life away from her famous family’s lifestyle, but when her brother’s racing team is in dire straits, she selflessly offers up her inheritance to keep them going, and finds herself as co-owner of team Perez, which has her far away from the quiet she seeks. Devlin is a playboy driver who is Luna’s brother’s rival, and he thrives on scandal and attention. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable, but can they have a romance together? This is a well written story which has family, friendships, challenges, sacrifices, romance, and love, which leads to a fast paced and entertaining addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the eARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was my first racing romance and I’m addicted now. There was the perfect blend of racing with the romance. Since I was completely new to racing I worried I wouldn’t fully understand what was happening, but anything important was fully explained so I never felt confused.

The relationship between the two main characters was interesting to read. It’s a forbidden romance considering she’s the partial owner of a racing team and he’s a racer for an opposing team. Oh, and her brother hates him.

But the two start out trading insults and soon become friends. I loved their friendship so much I was a little sad to see them turn romantic. But sad enough to be upset because I had been waiting for a kiss!

Their story isn’t over yet. There is a second book releasing soon that I can’t wait to read.

🏁 🚘 This one was not a favorite.

I read it so that I can ARC read the second but now I’m dreading signing up. There was no timeline going on in the story and I was lost as to how long these people were even “dating.” The main character had a “job” as being the “face of a racing team.” But she had almost no race content. Their love story and energy was flat. I feel like the author didn’t get into details on any of the topics. Racing, love story, odd family drama, depression, loss of parent, and woman in a male dominated industry… doesn’t that all sounds interesting…. Well it falls completely flat in every field. Wouldn’t recommend.

*3.5

I really enjoyed most of this book. Before they got together they were super cute and I loved all of their conversations where they were getting to know each other. The fact that he would just randomly call her to see what Luna was up to was adorable. The book did lose me a bit when they got together though. It felt like they hardly spent any time together. I am rooting for the second book to be better though. Theoretically they should be together the whole time so hopefully we get those cute moments back.

I received an arc through grey's promotions.

Luna was supposed to be a silent partner in the racing team her brother and uncle were running. Until she is called on to play a more hands on role. And to add to things she did not expect, next came Devin, a competitor and naughty guy who catches her attention and the attraction is mutual. These two have a lot to navigate as their involvement grows and the caring becomes more real. Their story was a good lead in as there is a second book coming that is connected. I am glad I read this one and have pre-ordered the next installment.

It will be you and me against the world. And whatever we come up against, nothing will tear us down.”

If you’re looking for a fast-paced,fun book with good banter, then I recommend reading Full Throttle by Anna Albo.

Luna and Devin’s relationship, so far, is super fun! I loved their banter as well as the conversations they had throughout the book. Although Devin is classified as a “player”, his character growth is substantial after meeting and being with Luna.

I am looking forward to reading more about Luna and Devin in the upcoming book, The Chase!

Another win from Anna Albo!

I love the way this author writes. She just tells it how it is and makes you feel like you are right there, really in the moment. What could be more sexy than living life in the fast lane, with all the glitz and glamour that goes with it? Well, you need to read this story to find out what really goes on behind the scenes. Is Luna going to get what she wants? Or is the competition just going to be too tough? A full 5* for this one, and I can’t wait to read the next.

I had a really fun time reading this book!! I absolutely loved Luna and Devin, and could relate to Luna in a couple different ways. I loved seeing them both grow and build a friendship. I do wish we could have seen them together a little more in the end. Especially the goofy side of their relationship since he got her to come out of her shell a lot more. Lastly I'd like to say that the water gun fight was so much fun, and loved reading about that!!!

This is one of my first f1 books and I enjoyed it. I am going to read the chase and I’m looking forward to it!!!

Luna had been pulled into f1 as her whole family legacy is f1. Her dad was one of the best racers in the world and her brother is trying to fill that legacy.

Devin is ab f1 racer but he didn’t come from the rich background like everyone else. He’s also a bit of a mystery and I want to know more about him.

Luna Perez and Devin Flynn ha⁷d me laughing the entire time. Loved the banter between these two opposites. Luna is part owner of a racing team along with her brother and uncle. Devin races for another team and when Luna's brother forbids the romance, Luna blows him off. But Devin is a playboy, and without giving much away, can she even win him over?

This was such a fun ride, but it was also really stressful!!! I WAS STRESSED OKAY!

Even though I was stressed I really enjoyed Lina and delvins relationship. They had the funniest banter and they made me laugh out loud a lot.

The plot was okay but I really could not click with the characters. I thought Luna was childish and I just didn’t like Devin. Their relationship was not natural, it just happened all of a sudden and I didnt understand where it came from. I needed more tension and angst.

Part one of a three part trilogy and it gets off to a good start. Set in the word of car racing, the Perez team over Luna gets together the Russo team driver Devin. There relarionship is risky given they are on different teams, but it's full of steamy hot chemistry waiting to burst out. But thier race to the end is far from over with some sharp corners to come ...

Luna Perez has been around Formula 1 racing her whole life, he father Marco was considered the best to ever drive - that is until he died in a horrible crash. Her brother Rafe is following in his footsteps and needs Lina’s help to fund Team Perez. Luna has realized that all drivers have a bit of a cocky overconfident persona- but none bigger than Devin Flynn, a driver for a competing team. Devin is known for being a playboy, but he can’t help but to be drawn to Luna and want to win her over.

This is the very first book I’ve picked up from this author, and it will not be the last!

I am a lover of all things fast, so, of course it was a thrilling ride to experience Luna & Devin’s journey.

Emotionally? It kept me in the scene, from excitement, to sad, to happy, to a boiling point, Devin’s actions were questionable at times, but I suppose that is part of the process, part of the reason you end up rooting for them to find themselves together. 🥹

I highly recommend you check it out, because it will give you something to think about. And if you’re like me, who has a movie playing in my mind when reading?

it will be you and me against the world.

the premise of Full Throttle is fun. there’s nothing quite like a playboy helping a straightlaced girl cut loose while simultaneously being reformed by her.

overall, I wanted more from this book. I just didn’t connect with the characters. there wasn’t anything wrong with them, but the chemistry was lacking for me, and a true conflict didn’t seem to actually exist.

Luna definitely puts up with some ridiculous people in her life. her brother acts like a spoiled child, and her lifelong family friend, Erich, seems to be weirdly obsessed with her. I don’t even know where to start with her unreliable best friend. Luna and Devin were the only ones that I actually liked.

as an F1 fan, I always get excited to read Motorsport romances, and especially excited when the sport plays a big part. I appreciated that so many aspects of it were highlighted in this one —
from sponsors to mechanical details and everything in between.

Thank you to Anna Albo and Grey’s Promotion for giving me the opportunity to read this early.

This book was fast paced and interesting but i will say that as an F1 fan, there were some inconsistencies of the places that they race and other things.

The conversations that they have before they were officially together were so heart warming and they are so good together.

Some of the things that happened at the end i seriously need to know the answers. So i might just have to read the next book 🤷🏼‍♀️
