In Strange Sorcery, the latest installment in the A Sorcerer’s Tale series, the battle to save the S.P.M.A. from the incursions of the Bloodseekers kicks into high gear. Nearly everybody we know in the Society is involved in this battle, and each of them has their part to play. But the attacks have become constant, despite severe losses among the Bloodseekers, and the general effect is one of chaos as the scene of action changes from one Society realm to another and one witch, wizard, or group of witches and wizards to another.
Casper Renn and Henry Blinn, each enacting his own battle for the benefit of their daughters as well as the rest of the Society score separate victories while working toward the larger goal. Casper, leading one of the leaders of the Bloodseekers into a trap, prepares to enact his vision of surrender, which he thought would mean his death. But with almost everybody in the Cendryll watching this encounter Kaira urges him not to give up. Ignoring her father’s expressed wishes, she launches a light spell into the mix kicking off a flurry of other interventions leading to the obliteration of another section of the Bloodseeker army. Casper decides that his death may not have been as close as he had feared.
A large contingent of Society warriors and creatures pushes most of the remaining Bloodseekers into the Velynx, the Society prison for the worst of the worst. Only when they are trapped there do they begin to break down and give some hint regarding the mysterious “homeland” they are supposedly seeking to return to.
The Society's gains are not without a price, however. Several newer warriors facing their first battles suffer injuries. And it seems that some old friends who don’t appear in this book are making their contributions as well.
Jacob and Guppy fear that their mother is in danger of falling under the Bloodseeker’s influence and want to move her out of danger. Although nothing has happened to her yet, there have been hints that her Melackin status may lead to a role for her in the war.

Retaliate or submit?
The vampire army is inundating Bibsley Corbett to the point where even the non-magic residents know there is something wrong. Casper is fading from the dark poison at a time when the power of the Renn family is desperately needed. Breathtaking battles for survival between SPMA warriors and a vampire army may not be enough to save the magical universe.
R.A. Lindo's descriptive style builds a universe in my mind brick by brick and then populates it with unforgettable characters! The action is non-stop. Don’t blink or you will miss something. Argh! The cliffhangers will be the death of me!

leaving us wanting more
As with all his books to the end each one stops at a crucial point and wanting to start the next one immediately—I can’t believe I only have two left in this series

This is an action-filled adventure in a magical world that has wonderful characters and a terrific storyline. If you love Harry Potter, then this series is a great read for you.
