Heatverse #1

Heat Clinic

Rate this book
"It’s the literary equivalent of a bunch of fetish gear tossed into a dumpster and set on fire." -A beta reader
She checked in at the free use heat clinic for some relief and found a pack instead.

Emily has had one lousy heat after another and is finally ready to break that cycle of hope and disappointment. When she goes to the nearby free-use clinic, she’s not sure what to expect. Breeding waivers, group activities, and restraints? Maybe this is all she’s destined for. What pack wants a thirty-six year old omega who might be past her breeding prime?

But then she meets her handsome heat minder, Sam. Young, flirty, and fun, the beta makes her feel a spark of something more. In the treatment room, her worries fade as her temperature climbs. There’s no faces, no names, just heavenly relief. Until an alpha named Marcus walks in and changes everything.

Money can buy everything but a scent-matched pack.

Marcus and his bonded beta Tom have been relentlessly sniffing out the rest of their pack for all their adult lives. It’s been a long and disappointing journey, but finally, there’s hope they haven’t missed their chance.
One thing’s for certain, this little omega and beta smell like pack. But how do they convince them of that? Because this omega thinks she’s too old and this beta thinks he’s not destined for forever. Their pack isn’t going to make it easy to woo them.

And woo they do. In bed, in the car, in public. Marcus and Tom are determined to show their new packmates how much they’re loved and wanted, body and soul, no matter how many times they have to pound that lesson home.

Can this pack put their doubts and fears aside to accept their happily ever after, or will old insecurities creep in and threaten what bliss they’ve built?

Heat Clinic is a sweet and ultra steamy contemporary MMMF omegaverse romance. There are no shifters or werewolves in this novel. A content guide is included in the beginning for readers with sensitivities. This book features multiple love interests and a heroine who won't be choosing. If you enjoy nesting, an older plant-obsessed omega, a silver fox alpha with a breeding kink, a bratty British beta, a golden retriever gamer beta boyfriend, restraints, public fun, and 4 adults handling their business with minimal angst and no 3rd act break-up then this book is for you.

*4.5* Warning: this book is not for the sexually faint at heart. It is filthy. It is graphic. It has everything you have ever wanted to read if you like

Alpha/omega/beta dynamics
Breeding kink
Light BDSM
MF, MM, MMMF
Anal with actual prep!!
No cheating (loads of sharing)
Found family/pack
Older characters - youngest at 28, oldest at 42
Age gap
Reverse age gap
Reverse harem
Praise & brat kink
Breeding kink
Filthy dirty talk
Exhibitionism
DP, DVP, dogging, spit roast etc…

If there is a holy grail for book porn, this is it. Shockingly well written, with an actual plot and characters you care about.

If you want to read an actual review of the story, Isabella's review is a perfect wrap-up.

“I love you because you’re kind. Because you take care of everyone who you consider yours. Because you are loyal and thoughtful. But it certainly didn’t hurt that you have a massive cock, a talented tongue, and an arse to die for.”

BR with my lovely sister wife Isabella. 😂 I feel like we learned a bit reading this book. It was educational!

2 ⭐️ Only read if you’re feeling extremely horny 👍

WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ omegaverse romance
✨ reverse harem
✨ mf, mm, mmf, mmmf
✨ found family (pack)
✨ age gap
✨ loads of sex: anal, dp, and dvp
✨ kinks: praise, brat, breeding, voyeur, exhibitionism, bdsm, spanking, slave/master/mistress

This is not a bad omegaverse book. In fact, the writing and editing were pretty good. And the romance can be sweet and sexy.

But for fucks sake, this was all porn and no plot. Seriously, it’s a full-blown novel and 90% has to be sex. And look, I love smut. But I wanted / needed a little drama and tension to keep me interested.

Also, the smut itself didn’t really pull me in. I don’t want to say it was boring, because it was filthy, but the way it was written didn’t excite me either you know? Sometimes you just vibe with an author’s smut and I don’t think I did in this one. Most likely it’s because it just sort of leads into sex without much character/relationship intro and development.

Anyways, overall, it was fine but not an interesting enough story to finish without skimming.

DNF @ 37%

Now I know this book has an incredibly high rating- but let me ask you this question:

By 37% how much do you want your MC’s relationship to have progressed?

If the answer is that you’ve already read about 20% of solid sex and the MC’s have got down and dirty at least 5 times already- then download this book.

However, if you’re like me and want an emotional connection that’s raw, honest, complicated and relatable- don’t do it.

I like omega verse books, I like different character dynamics and I love to read about relationships and often some sexy times.
But I’m not a fan of too much sex, enough cum and slick to physically drown in, pack mates that smell like bakery/sweet things and clits, hoods, knots, orgasms and wombs.

That’s just me, it might well be your thing my GR friends- but I suspect not xxx

My favorite thing about Omegaverse is the different interpretations that can be had. The dynamics from the Alpha, Beta, and Omega roles can adjust and change per each story - meaning: one alpha/one omega, or multiple alphas/one omega, or one alpha/multiple omegas, but in the story we get: one alpha, two betas, and an omega. While this story holds the typical storyline of Alpha, Beata, and Omega becoming a pack, it was still fresh and new. I truly enjoyed the journey that is given.

We start out by meeting a lovely mid-thirties Omega, Emily. I loved the aspect of getting an older Omega story, for all the mid-thirties women out there, it was great to read about a slightly older woman that hasn't settled down - yet. Many stories hold the young, new Omega finding her Pack, but not this go around. Emily is tired of using the Omegaverse version of Tinder - finding random Alpha knots to help her out with her heat, and she decides that she wants to try the free clinic. Best decision she has ever made. With the trip to the clinic she is able to find her pack, something she didn't think would happen for herself. She finds her adorable, charismatic Beta, Sam; the over-protective older alpha (again, happy to get some older characters), Marcus; and the Alpha's bonded brat Beta, Tom.

What I liked most about this Pack finding love story is that Alexis truly takes you on the full ride of finding, courting, mating, and bonding for the whole Pack. Marcus and Tom are already bonded from many years past, but thanks to Marcus never giving up on Pack and traveling to clinics to find his packmates - by scent finding, he finds his Omega and new beta. It was just a heartwarming travel from beginning to end, best part is that it isn't a quick pack finding story, we get a full, in-depth story with a HEA. Yes, there is light BDMS, light degradation (but nothing at all extreme for my standards), but there is plenty of purring, knotting, nesting, and bonding - which let's be honest, is the whole wonderful main reason to enjoy a good Omegaverse story.

The only thing that I didn't care for in this book was... Tom. I didn't feel connected to his character. To me, when Marcus found Emily and Sam, it felt that it was genuine finding and connection. Marcus was looking to complete his pack, but when it came to Tom, it felt that Emily and Sam were just the new kids on the block having to do Tom's bidding. For the pack dynamic it felt that Marcus was the center piece. On one side there was Emily and Sam - who were not meant to be a "pair" (according to Sam, but kinda did feel that way), and then Tom on the other that came with history. I just felt that when Tom interacted with Emily or Sam it was forced and there was no genuine love. By the end, I felt Tom may have 'liked' and had a friendship with Emily and Sam, but if something were to happen to Marcus - I could totally see Tom packing a bag and not looking back. BUT, even thought I didn't care for Tom, I still would highly recommend this Omegaverse story!

99% smut.

Sometimes I read things and think “for all the books I DNF, THAT one I can read all the way through”!?

This book is something. I’m just going to list my thoughts.

1. I like how emotionally sensitive Sam is. He’s the first to say “I love you” and basically says “life’s too short not to be open with how you feel”.

2. This free clinic sounds absolutely filthy and awful. Basically, they line her hole up to a hole and randos just f her. It’s gross. And a little bit scary.

3. There is a LOT of degradation in this. Including an absolutely hideously disgusting “lick the floor to clean up your mess”.

4. I am not a fan of the heroine being a mess until she’s rescued from her unsuccessful life by wealthy and successful partners. She’s 36 and has a terrible job, car, apt, family, and few friends. Really!?

5. So many gendered stereotypes in this. Some of which are mentioned. Like she doesn’t want to plan the party but it gets assigned to her. Cause she’s the woman!?

6. This is a polycule’s polycule.EVERYONE gets with everyone.

7. There’s a point in the book where two of the partners are hanging out in a garden and the woman notices a plant she loves. The guy decides to grab/steal it and they run off giggling. She’s a plant lover. And as a plant lover, I would be distressed, not happy, if my partner uprooted a plant without thought. It’s so easy to kill a plant that way and not really a romantic gesture. Let’s leave aside the morality/ethics of stealing a valuable plant. But in terms of that, she’s later selling cuttings from this plant and that just makes me dislike her. She could have grown her own cuttings from the original plant without tearing up a garden. I will never believe that a true plant person would act this way.

There’s probably more I’m missing.

This book is not for the squeamish or faint of heart. It’s messy and dirty.

✅️ Omegaverse (non-shifter)
✅️ Reverse Harem (w/MM ⚔️)
✅️ Lots & Lots of Kinks
✅️ Mulitple POV

⚠️ Mating, Breeding, Scenting

First, I would like to say thanks to the author for putting the omegaverse description and explanation in the beginning of the book. Even though I have read omegaverse in the past, this helped with why things happened in this story. 🙌💕

Next, I need to state that if you are not open to reading MM- there is a lot in here.

In fact, this baby is loaded with smexy times all around! 🥵 I'm talking she made a list of kinks, positions, pairings within the group- and checked them ALL off! 😆🥵🥵🥵🌶🌶
(Exp: DP, DVP, TP- diff 🕳, praise, fetish, BDSM, brat taming, exhibition, etc.)

Starts off with Emily (36yrs) having to go to a heat clinic (free clinic) for her heat cycle. This is where she meets her first packmate Sam (28 yrs, beta), who worked there. Sam was so flipping cute with the dirtiest mouth! 😍

Then while in the 'heat of the moment' 😉😉 (hehe) she meets her alpha, Marcus.
Super possesive and dominant ✔️

Marcus (42yrs) is excited to have sniffed out his mate and calls in his original packmate Tom, to come meet Emily. ❤️
Oh Tom and his instigating ways.... 🤭

This was a super cute story and I really enjoyed it. 🤩🫠

There was lots of emphasis on scent and breeding- that was different for me. Felt more like monster smut I read. 😂

I also really enjoyed the 'no breakup in the 3rd act'. It was strictly their story. ❤️😍✅️

Okay I want you to ignore the cover please. Because this was so freaking cute 😭 and Emily has plants 🪴 she's an omega in her late thirties who has plants 😭😭😭

Edit: I had to take this down a notch just because the dynamic with Tom felt...off. I can't really put my finger on it but I never really felt the chemistry between Emily and Tom grow or intensify at all. I can't really describe it because they did have spicy scenes but there was a lack of... I don't know. I can't really put words to it. It was still really good but not one that I would be going back to unfortunately. That kind of hurts me to say. But the first 50% is so good.

This was just...not it for me. There wasn't nearly enough plot for how long this is. I don't think I've ever said that in my life. It was definitely kinky and unique in terms of the author's take on omegaverse and the sex, but it just wasn't...good? I don't know how to explain it. I found it very boring and was skimming pages to try to make it go faster. In the end I just gave up and moved on. Not memorable or exciting.

The good
+ Nesting
+ Scenting
+ Sam
+ Same taking care of Emily
+ Plant stealing as a date
+ Rubbing and rolling in the new nest to spread their scent
+ Marcus carrying around his mates
+

The neutral
o I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. My review remains honest and unbiased
o The whole 'meeting the parents' was mentioned many times, and then summarized in just a few sentences as if it was unimportant. It was a bit jarring

The bad
- Emily didn't want the party. Tom made her go through all that horrible planning. Sam just laughed it off when Emily complained. None of them (including Marcus) apologized to her
- Marcus fucked up again the day he caused their dinner to burn. The dinner Emily had been working on for hours. He just apologized and that was it. I wanted some kind of groveling or just a way for him to make it up to her
- In the epilogue, Marcus and Tom still shared a bedroom, while Sam and Emily each had their own. Why didn't they all share a bedroom, when they love cuddle piles so much? Having just Marcus and Tom share a bed while the others slept alone made it seem like they never lost or evolved the dynamics from before they met
- I didn't like Tom. He made Emily do all kinds of things she didn't really like (like the shopping and event planning) just because he enjoyed it, and he used being a 'brat' as an excuse for being a dick
- The connection between some of the characters was too unconvincing for me, especially for such a long book. I believed Sam and Emily truly loved each other, and I liked the connection between Marcus and Emily too. But Tom didn't seem to have any connection other than sexual with either Emily or Sam, and Sam's connection with Marcus was also a little lost on me

Quotes
x Her mouth flattens into a thin line as she glares at me. It's cute. It's like being mean mugged at by a hamster.

I liked this book. It was a bit long, but I enjoyed it anyway. I could've done without Tom, and think the book would actually have been better without him, but it was probably good for Sam to not be the only beta. Sam was also the best caretaker. Would recommend if you're looking for low relationship angst and lots of sex, some of it kinky.

Look, the book isn't badly written. Not at all. And I know this is a smut story (I love smut), but I found out that there is something as too much smut. Let me explain.

First, Emily? Bland as bland they can come. I am sorry but she didn't feel like a person almost at all. She was horny and anxious 24/7 and that is about it. Apparently, she is supposed to be plant obsessed? Where and when? Like, she barely gave her plants a look. And is being plant obsessed supposed to be a personality trait?

I read almost half of this book and all we got to learn about her is that she keeps dissing her "office job" because it's boring and she is replaceable. Like girl, how about a career change? And that her mother is weird. Nice!

Sam had the most personality, I swear. Even Tom and Marcus were something. But Emily? Sorry, we didn't have the buget. It was so hard for me to like her or relate or something!

Look, the smut was HOT, ok? I found things hot that I didn't even knew that they could be hot. And that was ok at first. But after they got together and even started talking about children (AFTER THEY LITERALLY JUST MET 4 DAYS AGO) it started to irk me. Ok, sex is sex. Nice. But where are the... I don't know... the foundation of a relationship? Like feelings? And love???

I totally don't believe that Sam loves Emily after 4 days. He was like: "You are hot. I love you."

Gee, thanks. I love that you love my looks. And my ass. Very romantic!

Marcus and Tom together? Amazing! Emily and Sam together? Double amazing? Emily and Tom? ...*silence*

Maybe they have their moments later on but so far I wasn't feeling it. It felt like Marcus pushed Tom into that direction when Tom was comfortable with just the 2 of them. Idk, man...

And also, do they even like each other...? Between the four of them...? And I mean personality wise. All they do is fuck and think about fucking. I know, don't scream at me, this is smut. But goddamn, smut is smut and porn is porn.

I love the devil's tango but they are supposed to start a life and a family together. Can you even have a conversation that lasts more that 3 sentences that DOESN'T revolve around sex???

Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant. I liked this book but it was going nowhere.

I am so frustrated because it's so hard to find good sweet omegaverse books. So far I only liked Kathryn Moon's books. The others are badly written or bully romances which I HATE. If anyone reads this, can you recommend me some? Thanks.

This was 90% smut with very little plot. It was fun to have two betas, one alpha, and one omega in a pack. It shook up the norms for omegaverse. Sam and Tom were absolute menaces and always tried to push Marcus’ and Emily’s buttons, in a loving way. Emily was dealing with some family drama and did get support from her pack with that, though I wish there had been more open discussion between her and Sam and Marcus about it, instead of just Tom. Overall, it was a fun read.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: emotionally manipulative parent, internalized ageism, designation prejudices

A MMMF Omegaverse romance with some fluffy plot, All the STEAM, I repeat ALL the STEAM, with many kinks & a cute HEA. If it isn't clear, This is the hottest book I've ever read! I liked the characters, read this in 8-9hrs.

Emily (36) is a omega, she's pretty sweet tho had damsel vibes. She goes into the heat clinic for a good heat, meets Sam (28), a cute, fun bratty beta who's her attendent (biker🔥). During her heat, along all the alphas who fuck her, one is different. It's Marcus (42), a protective, caring alpha (works in finance)...who smells them & knows they're both pack. Soon comes Tom, Marcus' pack mate, a posh British snarky beta (does sensual photography)!

Heat clinic is a glory hole, after reading I realised it'll be pretty horrific irl (if it's not their kink 😉). I liked all the tests done & actual birth control used (Not see it much in Omegaverse). It's fun to read the author's explanation on Omegaverse. The world build is good.

How Marcus & Tom spend the heat with Emily & Sam, then court them is cute to see. Dinners, co-living! The everybody fucks dynamics makes chemistry Hotter, with MM, MF, MMF, MFM, MMMF! 🥵🔥 There are many kinks, like role play, DP, puppy play (a fun surprise 🤣), praise, voyeur, mild humiliation, etc. The sexy times never slow down (made the book long), with sweet scenes sprinkled in. (If I ever wanna read smut, I'll definitely come back to this 🔥.)

Em & Sam move from Boston to New York to be with Marcus & Tom together (the 2 are stupid rich). It gave me fish-out-of-water vibes as Em & Sam both kinda integrated in the pack work. No job search? Poor Sam, is it just me or was he doing a lot of lifting work in background at start lol? In climax, I'm happy they'll be working on Em expressing herself/saying no 😕.

It was fun to see the 4 become a family, the nest, mating & marriage (😅), but I felt the sexy times overshadowed the sweetness. Like gift giving, trips...we could've gotten more of them, in more detail. That gave me Insta feels. I've read & loved Pure smut, but oof I wanted more of just their relationship. But overall I enjoyed it, skimmed only some at starting chapters. This was my 1st by Alexis & will be looking out for more! The bonus is sweet & yup HOT.

::Thanks to the 3⭐ review which said it had 90% smut, I read this due to you!::

Story ratings: Enjoyed—> 4.5/5

I just can't get into this book. I mean, I expected Omegaverse erotica and lots of drippy sex, but the titular Heat Clinic where our FMC is strapped into stirrups and endlessly railed by nameless and faceless alphas just feels gross. Then she finds her pack and there's just so much endless fucking and ass training and fucking and chafed clits and fucking and D/s stuff and fucking and spending piles of cash to show her new alpha is rich and fucking and cervix-hitting and fucking and so, so much cervix-hitting. Fuck. It is just exhausting.

Life is too short, and there are plenty of writers that combine Omegaverse filth with things like actual plot, character development, tenderness, and humor. People like the incomparable Kathryn Moon, Roe Horvat, Wendy Rathbone, Amy Bellows and Victoria Kent, and all the others I haven't discovered yet.

I have mixed feelings. I liked the idea of a safe place for omegas to go during their heats and I appreciated the care Emily received. I did feel her connection to Sam and that was probably my favorite part of the book.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really feel that with Marcus and Tom. And that’s where the disappointment comes from. I get that so many chapters were focused on the heat (which means sex non stop). However I was hoping that afterwards there would be more development of the actual relationship. But that’s not what I’ve got. And as a consequence, I didn’t really connect with Tom and Marcus or got on board with their connection to Emily and Sam. It also felt like there were 2 separate couples getting together as a pack but not just one whole pack.

I would have liked more actual discussion between them all, seeing them actually getting to know each other. Especially as a mating was the end goal. When the 3 months deadline was up, I felt like I had missed events. But nope. Another consequence was that for me, for a few pages, it felt like they were using Emily to give them what they couldn’t have before (a surrogate and not a partner).

I was also confused at times by the ages of the characters. I honestly thought Emily was in her early 20s most of the book (despite being reminded otherwise). She didn’t speak or act her age. And the same goes for Tom and Marcus.

50% in I think I started skipping the sex because, well, it was basically every chapter and I wanted the actual conversations between them. Also some of the kinks were not really my cup of tea but that’s on me.

Overall the first half was good but the second one lost me a bit despite the solid writing and plot line.

I love omeagaverse and am always trying to find good ones. Lucky that I found an arc 2 days before release 😂
I literally can not believe how much smut was in it. I am a amazed. It was a smooth sailing, smutty, long omegaverse novel. I was hoping for some drama or angst and there was some but it was like a scene or two. I loved the part were Emily bit Marcus and he actually realized what she was feeling. The plot was good with the whole heat clinic, then the back stories, insecurities, getting to know each other, becoming a pack. But it was all overshadowed by the smut. And trust me it was a lot. Not that I'm complaining 😅
Would actually read other books by this author especially if they were RH or omegaverse.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Hard to rate this one because I felt like I’d tried to skip a few grades while reading. 😳 98.5% smut but some of the kinks just weren’t for me (degradation, DVP) so I did skim a few scenes. I probably didn’t connect enough with the characters for a 400+ page book.

Crazy spicy omegaverse with light BDSM themes.

For anyone who looked at the content warnings and flinched at the degradation play, it's fairly tame so don't let that deter you!

In a nutshell, we've got a single omega going to a heat clinic to get through her latest heat and everything that happens after she meets a few guys there. Since we are starting with her heat right away, it's spicy right from the beginning- definitely not a slow burn here! And overall, the spice level is super high, like 4.5/5.

It was interesting to read about a different kind of heat clinic with some unique features I haven't seen in other books with omega heat services.

I'm a little biased (since I don't like domination or degradation) so I had a hard time liking the main male characters acting degrading, but it's clear that the FMC requested it and it works for her.

Overall, it's a nice super smutty read for folks who are interested in exploring a little bit of BDSM that isn't too overwhelming.

When I first got this ARC I had high standards. Let me just say Alexis blew them out of the water. Between a found family and kinks galore this exceeded my expectations. This was such a heartwarming and spicyyyyy book all wrapped up in one. I loved that the characters were older and they only had one Alpha in the group, that was a nice change to have. Although Sam the beta does have my whole heart, what an absolute golden retriever and cinnamon roll. I just want to wrap him up in bubble wrap and keep him forever.

I’ve never had an author properly explain the omegaverse at the beginning of the book, this was a first and I wish I had something like that when I started my omegaverse journey. As well as an extended epilogue for those who aren’t into pregnancy.

All in all an absolutely amazing book that hit every mark plus some. I will definitely be getting this in a paperback as well to keep on hand for anytime I need a pick me up.

I chance-glanced another review about this book on here before I dove into it myself that claimed that this read was purely p*rn.

And I have to say, I concur.

I honestly never thought I’d live to see the day I’d be out-pizza’d by the Hut but here we are.

Guys… I got to maybe 23%(?) before I had to put this down in favor of breathing in the fumes from Canada instead bc it was all s€x. And no gosh. darn. point. 🙄

I was outdone. Out-spiced. Promptly laughed out of the dumpster by the very waste on fire for how quickly I folded and begged “no more!”.

Today, I am a fallen master Iron Chef limping away from the wreckage of an over-spiced kitchen.

I, for now, maintain my pride and dignity as a high heat reader after such a narrow escape from a tragic reading slump death. 💀

I don’t recommend this. The corn just ain’t worth it. Trust me.

I read this one on the back of Isabella. R’s review (which I am not smart enough to be able to link here) - and it didn’t disappoint. Why Choose smut with heart and a plot, what’s not to love?

Did author learned female anatomy from hentai and furry comics? It's the only explanation I can imagine behind so much cervix hitting in this book. Also, feeling penis through an abdomen? I understand the heroine has... different anatomy, but the only thing I could think of constantly was how much this shit would hurt.

Maybe I just missed the "only for readers with a penis" warning.

The Facebook book club moms were raving about this…. I simply could not tell you what I just read. Even for an omegaverse book this is bad 😭
