This book is about a young rabbit who discovers he has epilepsy. He goes fishing with his grandfather and has a seizure. This book teaches young readers that it is okay to be different. It is a children's book with pictures to go along with the short story.
Honestly I read this because I thought it might be the most peculiar children's book to happened across. I was surprised that it actually seemed to be helpful information for a young child who has recently discovered they, a friend or family member has epilepsy. But I'm not sure that I would recommend it for light reading before bedtime.
There aren't many pictures books available to teach children about epilepsy. Though this one is old, it isn't bad. I wish the grandfather didn't fall asleep during the fishing trip as I think this muddled the issue.

I can see how this book would be helpful in talking about epilepsy with kids from a certain age group. But also it doesn’t talk about any kind of seizure other than absent seizures, so maybe not that helpful if you’re hoping to destigmatize other, more outwardly “dramatic” types of seizures for a child who has them or knows someone who does. Still, I could see how this story would be a helpful tool in specific situations.
This is a decent story to introduce children to epilepsy. Lee has a form of epilepsy, speaks with her doctor, and learns that it doesn't have to interfere with her life.
