Their excuse for the king to have many wives is that he "have so much love". Japanese novelist really love polygamy. I struggled with this one, especially the last few chapters. MC wasn't smart and the king was utterly useless.

(Read at JNC)

On their way home Chise and Teto come across a massacred group of soldiers and a dying woman with a child. The woman entrusts the still living child to the two. It soon becomes clear that whomever killed the woman, is still hunting the child, so Chise and Teto retreat into the Desolate Area and take it upon themselves to raise the kid. What follows is a volume much like previous ones, the slice-of-life story of Chise and her relatively straight forward life as an adventurer and now a mother. Nothing deep, or special, but entertainingly enough with likeable characters. Although again, if you can create anything, I am sure there is a potion that can age you a decade or so.

Absolutely beautiful.

All the beauty and sorrows of a family growing and separating contained in one small book. Filled with meeting, living, loving, and parting. Be prepared, if you have a heart the last chapter will bring you to tears.

Beautiful and heartbreaking

A sweet unexpected story of a young woman in the body of a 12 year old becoming a mom. The trials and tribulations of parenthood and the heartbreak of letting them go. Make sure to have tissues with you as you near the end!

Have fun!!
