Rate this book
When love takes you hostage, what’s the correct fight or flight? Jameson Hill has been a walking crime scene ever since he lost both parents as a teenager. Since then, his life has been one big run-in with the justice system — not that Jameson has ever had any faith in the law. In fact, all he’s ever wanted is to wipe the smile off the face of the thieving judge who stole his family’s inheritance. So when Jameson gets the chance to seize the most powerful bargaining chip of all, he goes all in. Law student Lily Hayes is following determinedly in her grandfather’s footsteps — anything to make sure she doesn’t end up like her flaky, “free-spirited” mother. But when she finds herself the captive of a hot, spontaneous, billionaire with a revenge wish, Lily’s good girl intentions go up in flames. All Jameson has ever wanted was retribution, but every night with this sweetly vulnerable woman is bringing him closer to redemption. And that’s something he just can’t risk, if he’s ever going to set the record straight...

FLIGHT RISK is the first book in the Risk trilogy by Amelia Wilde. Featuring a smoking hot MMC, sweet but daring FMC, and a plot that will set your heart racing, this emotional romance is instantly addicting.

A chance meeting on the street left a last long impression for both Jameson and Lily. A chance kidnapping reunites them a year later.

Jameson and Lily have such a unique story. I love that their chance encounter left such an impression on them both. Undeniably traumatized, Jameson’s heart is cracked, but not shattered. And Lily. Sweet Lily. The dichotomy of her personality - strong, yet incredibly compassionate - made her so likable.

The ending came as a bit of a surprise so I’m anxious to see where the two go from here.

Review:

After reading Gabriel’s trilogy I didn’t thought it would get more angsty than that, but somehow Amelia did it.

Jameson seemed to be reckless in the other books of the series, but here we see his dark, anguished, tortured, messy personality. Amelia always has a way of putting us inside the characters heads and feel their pain. When Jameson tries to right wrongs of the past, he takes Lily so her grandfather will feel a fraction of what his family felt in the past.

Their chemistry is explosive and their connection is great. It’s clear that Jameson needs help and I hope he gets it on the next books. Yeah, this is the first in a trilogy, so be prepared.

holy hell. what did I just read? Flight Risk is a Dark Romance and I loved every moment of this book. I read this book in one sitting because it was just impossible to put it down.

please check trigger warnings before considering reading this one. and also, please mind that the book ends on a cliffhanger. right now I’m just counting the days until I can read what happens next in this series.

Flight Risk is dual POV, which you know that I love. I loved the plot and the characters. and oh my goodness, Jameson.
the relationship between our two main characters, Lily and Jameson, begins with Jameson abducting Lily and keeping her for several days in a cabin. I don’t want to spoil anything about the plot but their banter and their attraction are incredible. the book was intense and I loved every moment of it. there were a lot of spicy scenes and they were so good 😮‍💨

you can bet that I’m going to read more books by Amelia Wild

thank you Valentine PR for the ARC for this book.

ACR review of Flight Risk by Amelia Wilde💗

Overall Opinion - 4.25 💞
This book was fantastic. This was intense, it had my heart beating so fast. My emotions were all over the place! Lilith and Jameson had such wonderful organic chemistry! I could not stop reading. I definitely see myself coming back and re-reading it.

Point Of View- This book has a dual POV and follows both Jameson and Lilith.

Male Lead rating - 4 💞
Jameson’s character is complex. Haunted by his past he is trying his best to live his life and stay away from crime. He has a good job and a great family but feels like he does not deserve it. Sometimes you just can not escape your past.

Female Lead Rating - 4 💞
Lilith is one of the most interesting character I have read in a while. Determined to impress her grandfather she is studying to be a lawyer. But she is afraid that she is more like her mother than her grandfather. She feels this need to be the perfect granddaughter but she has her secrets.

Sadness level: Medium, no tissues needed

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and kinky scenes.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Other Woman/Other Man drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

We know the Hill family and the horrible hand they have been dealt. We’ve read Mason and Gabriel’s stories, and now it’s Jameson’s turn.

Jameson carries all the weight of his world on his shoulders and doesn’t always make the best choices. So when the opportunity presents itself to right some wrongs of his past he makes a choice. Too bad he doesn’t realize the consequences of that choice, especially when they have to deal with a beautifully smart, caring redhead with hazel eyes.

This is so much more than the previous books in the Hill family, this is gut wrenchingly emotional. Seeing the pain that Jameson puts himself through is going to gut you. All of that being said, there is still some serious steam.

This is Book 1 so don’t look for the HEA, you won’t find one. But what you will find is a love with an unconventional beginning and hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out what happens next.

Amelia Wilde never disappoints, I will read her words no matter what she writes, you should too!

OMG, Jameson and Lily's story is going to be your new all-consuming obsession. There is just so much I could say about this book. Filled with an inferno of scorching heat, excruciating tension, tantalizing drama, raw visceral emotions, stretch-your-nerves-to-the-breaking-point suspense, superb slivers of chuckle inducing humor, lush darkness, ample helpings of sweetness and heart, and juicy twists that are going to steal your breath, raise your temperature, play twisted games with your heart, and have your jaw on the floor. I absolutely adored these complex characters and oh, how my heart aches for them. Both are each as fierce in their own way as they are broken. Try to prepare for the cliffy because this is only book one of three and trust me, when you hit it, you are going to lose your mind, I know I did. Can't wait to continue this series ASAP!! I am independently posting an impartial review.

I received an arc for an honest review.

𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞. 😅 I love it when the hero kidnaps the heroine. And to top it off, she's a virgin. 😏 I 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 Jameson and Lily so much. They're probably going to be my 𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝟑 favorite couples from Amelia after Leo/Haley and Hades/Persephone. ⁣

Jameson is the 3rd brother of the Hill siblings. We already got Mason and Gabriel's books. I feel like you'll understand the family dynamic more if you read the brother's series before this one. But little bits of the background of the Hill siblings do get explain as well.

As always, Amelia's and her cliffhangers. I need book 2 asap!!

Jameson Hill has always considered himself to be a crime scene and the mask that he wears for his family is starting to crack. An impulsive decision to kidnap Lily Hayes, the granddaughter of the judge who condemned the Hill's to a difficult life early on after the death of parents, will have devastating consequences and bring together two people from opposites sides who were never supposed to meet and fall in love. Jameson—just like his brothers, Mason and Gabriel, is a broken man who hides behind a cheerful facade that is starting fall apart. Amelia Wilde continues to blow me away with her stories and characters because I went from being conflicted about what Jameson was doing to feeling sympathetic to his brokenness. The fact that he talks to Snowball, a bird that he rescued, was incredibly endearing and charming. Lily herself was also a force to be reckoned with—brave, innocent, kind, understanding, and defiant. Her interactions and chemistry with Jameson were explosive, charged, and steamy.

"I'd rather exist for her entertainment than be a human crime scene, seconds away from exploding into fresh heartache."

In the end, I loved reading Jameson and Lily's beginning. The book does end with a shocking cliffhanger and now it's Lily's turn to change Jameson's world and outlook on life. Despite their rough beginning, it didn't take long for both characters to start caring for each other. In many ways, her chance meeting with Jameson has irrevocably changed her perspective on the meaning of justice, her grandfather's shady dealings, and the path of law school that was initially set out for her. All she ever wanted was freedom and she experienced that with Jameson. I'm excited to see what Amelia Wilde will have in store for these two free-spirited individuals who might be each other's salvation. Fans of Mason Hill (Net Worth) and Gabriel Hill (Power Play) will not want to miss out on this story because it features the youngest brother who has always been known to seek justice against the corrupted.

Amelia Wilde is truly the enchanted mistress of the dark and broody broken alpha whose quest for revenge and answers is only rivaled by their pile of secrets. And Flight Risk introduces perhaps her most broken hero yet and his big also scarred brood of siblings. And I can not get enough of them!

Set in the Wealth world, Power Play is the first of a trilogy focusing on another of the Hill brothers, and like his brothers, Mason and Gabriel, Jameson’s channeled his considerable childhood trauma into a hardened, mysterious, mercurial shell- his pain and childhood grief transformed into a relentless and reckless mission of vengeance. He's perhaps the most ruthless, cunning, and unpredictable of the brothers- so of course Amelia gives us a story centered around a trope she excels at - ABDUCTION. Jameson has set his sights on one of the corrupt society members be believes had much to do with the tragedy with his family- and how better to cut him where it hurts than by targeting his granddaughter Lily.

Some forced captivity, a lost and lonely heroine, and some delicious dub con tension, and our heroine starts to fall for her ruthless and intense captor. And Jameson starts to realize he might not be able to have her love and his vengeance. Amelia deftly writes and delivers broken characters- with heroes with an edge and ruthlessness that their anti-hero qualities usually dominant much of their story, making them enemies to our beleaguered heroines. And Jameson is certainly an anti-hero. He’s so deeply broken, in so much pain, that unlike others, including his brothers, he can’t quite contain it, it just oozes out of his pores. And my how do we feel for our little trapped Lily. It all makes for the most addictive read. Of course expect a brutal cliffhanger - I wait with bated breath for more!

Flight Risk was such an emotional story for me and I fell in love with both the heroine and the hero. Life throws so much at Jameson and he is rightfully on the verge of becoming a shell of himself until he meets Lily whom he has met previously by chance again. Even though he has ulterior motives for his plans for Lily, he slowly succumbs to her light. Their chemistry was also off the charts hot. If you’re in the market for romance with broken souls mending each other’s hurts, Flight Risk might be the answer.

Jameson Hill is the youngest male of the Hill siblings. He too has been troubled by his childhood where his parents were murdered and he was forced to grow up too quickly. In his attempt to right the scales of justice, he decides retaliation is his best bet. But what if your plan suddenly shifts and you do something even more questionable? You seek retribution by kidnapping someone who is innocent but is unfortunately related to some who isn’t. This first book of the trilogy gives you a deep dive into Jameson, his wants and how he plans to achieve them. Lily his kidnapping victim challenges him. Will they be able to unpack their grievances and rely on each other for support? You’ll definitely want to read this amazing book.

STOP AND GO CHECK OUT THIS BOOK!
Warning it does end on a cliffhanger!

This was such a great captive romance.
Might it be my new favorite by Amelia Wilde? It sure is rivaling my love for Beast of Bishop's Landing trilogy.

Jameson lost his parents years ago. Something triggers his need for revenge and on his path to revenge he stumbles upon Lily Hayes. The granddaughter of the judge he wants to take revenge against. She gets taken captive and Jameson wants to make the judge pay through her. And sweet mother of revenge, he does this in a way that neither he nor Lily will ever be the same again.

𝑳𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝑯𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒋𝒐𝒌𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒍𝒍. 𝑰'𝒎 𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆.

Jameson truly believes that he is a crime scene. His heart is in the right place and I felt his pain. I am here rooting for him and his growth in this trilogy.
Lily has been raised by her grandfather and wants to follow in his footsteps and study law. Somehow Lily feels like there is something missing or not entirely right. Jameson makes her go through a lot in a short time but she is resilient. She sees so much more in Jameson than he sees in himself.
Both of them have a long way to go but they could not have been better fitted.

"𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒂 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆."

Amelia Wilde's writing really shines in this book. It gave emotion, steam and plot all mixed together and left me wanting more.
And the side characters. Ohh how wonderful they are as well. I mean a long tailed-tit bird. named Snowball is an absolute scene stealer.

It ended so good. That cliffhanger is going to keep me on the edge until the next book releases. And quite honestly, it should be a crime making us wait for more of Jameson and Lily.

Lily and Jameson are really unique characters I found immensely interesting and likable.
Their story starts out very unconventionally, I happen to love that aspect so much. I love a story like this with revenge, hidden agendas and the hope of redemption.
The author writes incredible damaged, tortured and sexy AF heroes that I love no matter how twisted they are.
The heroines always have strength, intelligence and are able to give the men a run for their money at the same time as being strong for themselves and for their man. There is always a quirk factor and I’m such a sucker for quirky characters, Lily seems to fit all of this this and I adore her!
The story pulled me in. I love the banter, heat and tension between the characters.
The setting made for a really entertaining story with great character interactions.
I was intrigued until the last word, which of course is a cliffhanger that has me desperately wanting to know where the story is going and what’s going to transpire with the characters. I can’t wait for the next book!

Oh my goodness, "Flight Risk" is one spicy read! 🥵 But don't be fooled - beneath all the steamy scenes lies a genuinely sweet love story that will have you rooting for the main characters all the way.

The book follows Jameson Hill, a man who's been in trouble with the law since he lost both of his parents as a teenager. He's got a score to settle, and when he gets the opportunity to do just that, he jumps at the chance. Enter Lily Hayes, a law student who finds herself in Jameson's clutches. She's determined to be a good girl and follow in her grandfather's footsteps, but Jameson's hotness and spontaneity have her questioning everything she thought she knew.

What follows is a story of love, redemption, and, of course, danger. Amelia Wilde's writing had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and I couldn't put the book down until I knew what was going to happen to Lily and Jameson.

I can't wait to read the sequel and find out how their story continues. If you're a fan of steamy romance with a dash of danger, "Flight Risk" is the book for you.

Everything that happened in Jameson’s life has led him to this moment and there is no coming back from it or is there? A chance meeting and then finding out months later that Lily may be a means to an end and Jameson just might get his revenge. What he didn’t expect was the sassy, strong willed woman to give as good as good as she got. Lily was drowning without a lifeboat and who knew that her kidnapper would turn out to be the bouy she needed to pull herself up and to start making her own choices in life and she wants Jameson, crime scene and all. Their story was amazing. I loved it and can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens with these two.

Loved every page of Jameson and Lilly's story. I found the premise to be original and the characters so easy to relate to and want to cheer on. The story had me on my toes and then reading the development of the characters throughout the pages and seeing how they personally grew created for a great adventure.

I received this as an arc from Valentine PR.

Holy cow!! I loved this book! Such an easy read! This book follows Jameson and Lily through dual POV. Jameson calls himself a “crime scene” and is dealing with trauma from his past. He wants to enact revenge on his parents deaths. Lily is a NYU graduate who is planning to go to Colombia law school to follow in her grandfathers footsteps.

Jameson and Lily met a while ago on the street but little does Jameson know when he kidnaps this girl, it’s in fact Lily. But this is his plan for revenge and it doesn’t quite turn out the way he planned…

Also this book ends on a cliffhanger

This book had me captivated from beginning to end! This book is unlike anything I have read before and I couldn't get enough.

Jameson had seen so much darkness in his life which has led to him taking Lily as revenge against those who wronged his family.

I instantly fell in love with Lily. Her strength, determination and headstrong attitude. I always have a soft spot for Tortured MMC's which means I loved Jameson.

I cannot wait for you to read their journey and I cannot wait for the next book in this trilogy.

Kindle Unlimited: No
Stand-alone: No- Risk Trilogy
Author: Amelia Wilde
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️
Spiciness Rating: 4/5 🌶
POV: First Person Dual Perspective
Main Couple: Jameson and Lily
Trope(s): Dark Suspense, Forced Proximity, Revenge

“I can be the kind of woman who moans out an orgasm while she rides a man. I can be the kind of woman who leans down to kiss him because I like the feel of his mouth. I can be the kind of woman who braces both hands on his chest and lifts myself up.”

Flight Risk (Risk Trilogy) is Jameson Hill’s story. Amelia has written about Mason and Gabriel. If you have not read their books, you can easily read this as a standalone, but of course to get the story from all POV’s will be worth the read. Here I am just reading along, getting to know Jameson, learning about Lily, drawing my conclusions, and then Jameson, goes and blows my mind. Like, this escalated quickly, y’all. And, Jameson has games to play for days. Jameson also has baggage for days. The load this guy carries on his shoulders. But, the other side of him. Gah- I have a shoulder he can cry on. Lily is his perfect angel. And, she is going to be the one to save him this time I have a feeling.

Jameson Hill, the crime scene, has been putting in too much effort pretending to have his life together with his family and work. He has struggled with the deaths of his parents and the injustice served to him and his siblings since he was a teenager. He is over it and has taken matters in his own hands. Literally.

Lily Hayes (Lilith, Demon Girl) has been raised by her grandfather after her mother abandoned her as a baby. She is following in his footsteps obtaining her law degree. Her life has revolved around school and study groups. Her only rebellion all these years is her job performing Aerial Hoop at the exclusive gentlemen’s club The Membership.

Jameson plans out his next step in his revenge plot, but it takes a major detour when an opportunity to make it even more personal presents itself in the form of Lily Hayes alone in a parking lot. So, what's a guy with a revenge plot to do, kidnap her of course. New plan, ruin the gorgeous Lily and send her back to her life.

Lily is terrified, but the desire is there too. Jameson’s plan gives her the freedom to act reckless in a way she has always avoided.

And, the scene stealer goes to….. Snowball. This bird has all the good advise.

I want to make the world better for you.

a year ago they bumped into each other on the street, and since then Jameson and Lily haven’t stopped thinking about one another. their paths cross again in present day, but not in the way either of them expected…

this is an explicitly steamy read with many kinks represented, as well as potential triggering sequences/topics. I suggest reviewing content warnings.

beware: Flight Risk ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared!

I read this in one sitting and I am not OK. In true Amelia Wilde style, this has gutwrencher of a cliffhanger.

This is Jameson Hill's story. If you've read the previous stories you will be familiar with the horrible hand these siblings have been handed by life. Jameson is consumed with guilt, sadness and the need for revenge.

Flight Risk is his ill conceived and spontaneous kidnapping revenge attempt. He steals Lily from her structured and planned out life and unexpectedly ends up freeing her and letting her spread her wings. Lily is spirited and hardworking and firy. From the word go she stands up to Jameson and only gives up power that she is prepared to sacrifice. His need to control, torture (with orgasms- I can think of worse ways!) and just feel is a perfect match to her need to fly and be free. He gives her something she has been unable to attain within the confines of her life.

These two have heated chemistry but there is also a vulnerability to their bond. You can feel that Lily will be a salve to his soul. We just need to get past that awful cliffhanger first.....

The Hill children have had horrible childhoods. We have read Mason and Gabriel's stories, and now it's Jameson's turn.

Jameson is by far the most reckless and troublesome Hill brother. He gets arrested on a regular basis, but usually it's for trying to make the world a better place. He tries to get that "crime scene" feeling off of him. It never works, so he decides to do something big. And that something big is the crooked judge's granddaughter.

Lily is a really sweet female main character. She wants to be bold and reckless, but not like her mother, so she's following in her grandfather's footsteps into law school. Until she crosses paths with Jameson.

This book is full of sex. Really hot sex. And it's really emotional at times too. I thought it was a touching and poignant read and I'm excited for the next one. It ends on a little cliffie!!!!

Flight Risk by Amelia Wilde, this is the first book in this series and this time we will meet Jameson Hill, the youngest of the Hill brothers, just like his brothers, his past has been marked by the tragedy of the murder of his parents, which It has turned him into a reckless and troublesome man, who is regularly arrested, his excuse is that he is trying to make the world a better place, which turns this billionaire into a kind of anti-hero, he feels that he is the one who should take revenge of the judge who ruined his family and is willing to use the necessary means to achieve it and as on other occasions, he acts impulsively and kidnaps Lily Hayes, who is the granddaughter of said judge, she is intelligent, beautiful, strong, affectionate, kind and full of sass, a good girl who does what she is told even though she is not very satisfied with the life she has and finds herself debating between following her dreams or following the path that was planned for her.
When Jameson kidnaps Lily, he does so with a plan in his mind but his world and his plan are turned upside down since he did not expect her innocence, her daring mouth, or that he would begin to fall in love, she by his side as more time passes with him and knows more truths can not help but see the real Jameson and fall in love with him.
Although this story is not easy to read, it will catch you and you will not be able to put it down until you reach the end, although I warn you it ends in cliffhanger, you will live every emotion of these beautiful and complex characters, the chemistry between them is undeniable, there will be moments of anguish, moments heartbreaking, also some laughter, a lot of passion and unexpected twists, I will definitely be waiting for what is to come, I totally recommend it!
*Thanks to Amelia Wilde and Valentine PR & Literary Management for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

Maybe I'm repeating myself for the umpteenth time, but every time I find a new Dark Romance and I'm so excited because they're one of my biggest weaknesses.
🥀Their destinies were intertwined before they even met. A man with a broken heart, longing for revenge, encounters a girl who has been searching for her place all her life. He wants to hurt his worst enemy and bring justice for the lives lost and the childhood taken away, but after meeting her, his revenge begins to lose its alluring luster.
🥀Jamison was looking for justice for the brutal death of his parents. The plan was perfectly structured and just waiting for its execution. The beginning is made, but every minute spent in Lily's presence and he begins to waver because she is like a ray of hope that he had lost so long ago. The heart begins a fierce battle with the mind, and it is not yet clear which will prevail.
🥀 Angel named Demon. Lily. Always looking for her place in the world. During the day, she is a gentle and kind, inquisitive and very funny prospective law student. At night, he seeks to find his place among the shadows of the past. She is the innocent victim in a revenge, but with every minute she spends in the hands of her captor, she reveals secrets more terrible and more cruel about the only person who has been by her side for most of her life. Time passes, and her heart is pawned.
🥀A tormented soul that seeks peace in revenge finds its cure in the kindest of its enemy.
🥀 “Flight Risk” is a wonderfully written tale of revenge. It is the first book in the series I guess because the ending was open ended and ended in a particularly surprising way. As I read the book, I truly ached for Jamison's childhood wasted so cruelly, because no child deserves to suffer what he, his brothers and sister endured. But despite the trauma, he has become a strong and steadfast man ready for revenge. To be honest, I loved him because, despite everything, he has a kind and very vulnerable soul. His every step was dictated by the cruel scars of the past. Lily, for her part, was funny and very strong for me. Despite what Jamieson did to her from the beginning, she found the strength to support him in his difficult moments and comfort him. This is a story filled with lots of tension, hot and passionate moments and a completely unexpected ending that left me with my mouth open and shivering in great anticipation for the sequel.

“Even the best Good Girls need to be reminded to behave.”

Firstly thank you Valentine pr & Amelia Wilde for this Arc in return of a honest review.

This was quite a fast read when I got into it, I was a little bit confused in the beginning but that can be due to me starting this book on the train and then having to take a break when I reached work.

We follow Jameson who carries a lot of trauma from the passing of his parents in his shoulders and it leaves him being a lost soul. He doesn’t quite know what to do but he decides on revenge and kidnaps Lily. Lily is a sweet girl but she feels empty and she doesn’t know what to do with her life, if she should follow her dreams or the life that’s been planned for her.
Jameson kidnaps her with the plan to sedand torture her, but as they spend more and more time with each other, the plans change.

Okey my opinion, when the scene by the window started, man oh man 🔥🔥🔥 but I needed more of the enemies, it went quite fast between them and for Lily being a girl who got kidnapped she changed her mind quite fast. And it was a lot of spice, which I’m not complaining about at all, it just went fast and I was a bit confused. I wed to add, that my heart went out to Jameson, his nightmares and the way he views himself. Heartbreaking.

Did I enjoy this book? Ehm yeah. Sometimes you need a spicy hot book to get through your day, and I’m a sucker for “Good Girl”🥵🌶️

It ended on a cliffhanger so you’re all aware.

Tropes: forced proximity, captive, enemies to lovers, broken hero, past trauma, revenge, virgin fmc, good girl

When love takes you hostage, what's the correct response: fight or flight? Jameson Hill has been a walking crime scene ever since he lost both of his parents when he was just a teenager. Since then, he's become rather familiar with the justice system, but that doesn't mean he trusts the law. All he's ever wanted is revenge on the corrupt judge who stole his family's inheritance. When the opportunity arises to secure a powerful bargaining chip, he doesn't hesitate to act. Lilith Hayes is a law student who is determined to follow in her grandfather's footsteps. When she becomes a gorgeous man's captive, all her good girl intentions disappear. All Jameson ever wanted was retribution, but the more time he spends with Lily, the closer he seems to be to redemption. But he can't risk that, not if he wants to set the record straight.

Over the past two years, Amelia Wilde has become an automatic click author for me. I will read anything she writes, and this story was just another example of why that is the right decision every time. The plot of this new trilogy immediately drew my attention and kept it until the brutal cliffhanger. Jameson filled the role of an antihero to perfection. I don't usually love a lot of dirty talk, but my lord, whenever he opened his mouth, I got hotter. My heart really went out to him as well. I loved Lily from her name to her part-time job, and I loved what she brought out in Jameson. I need time to go back and read his older brothers stories as I somehow missed those. The author wrote with a poetic intensity that seemed to hypnotize me. I can't wait for the next book in their story. I highly recommend this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
