Other than 4 authors, all here are new for me. It will be interesting to check out the new material!
1. A Summer Of Love & Death Janna Ruth 3.75/5
Entertaining, Paranormal romance. You get Vampires (2 breeds), magic & Hunters & a HEA. I'd be up for reading more from this author.
2. Abra Cat Abra Pepper McGraw 4/5
I've read a number of Ms McGraw's books in the Pawsitively Perrfct Paws series. I love kitties, & really enjoyed the first few I read. Short synopsis: Bygol is the top cat in a goddess' kitty matching service for shifters. Unfortunately, after the first few, the all became irritatingly similar. I'm glad to say that in this one Ms McGraw changed the formula enough to make it interesting again. This is more about the fated mate pair than it is about the cats (though they are still definitely there!) & she takes the plotting into a somewhat different place than the last few, I enjoyed this.
3. Broody & The Beast Lulu Sylvain 3.5/5
Ms Sylvain is a new author for me. This one is hard to review, as a 65 y.o. Hetro male, I am totally not part of the story's target audience. A lot of words are written about attractive men, about what a pregnant woman goes through, with very little Paranormal magic (there is some). The fact that I read the entire story & my rating reflects that Ms Sylvain is a good writer. There were time I wanted to put this down & move on to the next story because it isn't real relatable to me. It's a compliment to the author that I did finish it & enjoyed the HEA at the end. I think many females 16-35 or so would really enjoy this. Not child/early teen appropriate in places, but compared to some of the "steamy" paranormal books I've been reading lately, this is pretty tame by comparison.
4. Haunted Holiday Andra Dill 4/5
Also my first time with this author. I enjoyed this. Our protagonist is a witch, who's main power is the ability to communicate with ghosts. Fast, enjoyable read. She meets a "good guy" vampire, who helps her track down an evil killer of children. I would be glad to read more from Ms Dill.
5. Igniting The Witch Erin Richards (her name is spelled incorrectly as Andra Richards in this anthology) 4.25/5
Really well written story from yet another author I was unfamiliar with. I will be getting more of her books. Basic plot is a young witch from the Wilde clan has inherited the role of #1 witch of the USA. A very evil witch, Zelda is challenging her & trying to steal Sage's Warlock. Zelda is a strongly evil villain, & may cause some triggers. Fortunately, she is killed off fairly quickly. The plot & the characters kept me interested. Paranormal fans will enjoy this one! Suitable for 12 or so through adults.
6. Immortal Curse Eden Hart 4/5
A Vampire & a witch fall in love. Unfortunately, in this universe, that is forbidden. Though they try to break the curse, they don't succeed. The Vampire agrees to give away his land for no useful reason, & the witch marries someone she doesn't love in hopes of breaking the curse permanently.
My guess is that this is going to be a really LONG series, & that Sage & Cristian will finally meet in another reincarnated lifetime & get to be together. However, that is just a guess.
Other than the unhappy ending, this was an enjoyable read.
7. Kiss Of The Scorpio Moon ND Testa 4.5/5
Talk about an HEA; this is one giant HEA! Really well done feel good story from yet another author I am not familiar with. Some of these stories feel like the retelling of fairy tales, but I am not familiar enough with the genre to put 2 & 2 together. So far, this is the most enjoyable story for me in this compilation.
8. My Warlock Professor Cara North 3.5/5
This one gets a certain wow factor for originality. Our paranormal plot is the male protagonist (Vampire) & female protagonist (Succubus) fall in love in a universe where love between the 2 species is cursed & brings about ugly consequences. The vamp has no family, the Succubus (not the standard version) has a disabled sister, a witch mom, & a mean King for a father. Not my favorite story in the anthology, but probably the most original.
9. Earth Witch Gina Kincaid & CD Gorri 4/5
I previously read & reviewed this book in June of this year:
"Another enjoyable book in the Westwood Series. There is said to be 2 more left to be written. I've really enjoyed this series.
One thing I find interesting: I can't tell the 2 author's voices apart. Reading doesn't feel like 2 different people wrote different sections. I believe they did, but it's nice for my reading experience.
This one is a bit different from the others or even an average YA paranormal. One part of the plot is about the protagonist of this book, "Earth Witch" Jade. She is over weight, & has low self-esteem as a result. Part of the story is how finding her mate & her magical power enables her to work through the low self-esteem.
One possible concern: the above is specifically a teenage theme, & there are several sections in the book that some would not find age appropriate for teens. Doesn't bother me, but I'm not you and I don't have any children!
In general, this is another enjoyable book in the Westwood Universe & moves the master story ahead, while leaving at least 2 unresolved issues for the last 2 books (There is 1 book for each of the 6 major witches in the series). It appears that with some (likely) upcoming twists & turns the Academy's unstated goal is to unite several different categories of witches & save the magical realm.
Looking forward to #5!"
10. Heaven Knows Ariel Dawn 3/5
I really liked this, & would have given it a 4, but it is so short that the reading is left with "huh"??.
I suspect what she's doing is setting up a long series of short books. My GUESS is this book will be free until the end of time to draw people in. Whether it draws me in will be dependent on how long book 2 is.
The basic plot is both Heaven & Hell have a bureaucratic admissions department. A 17 year old girl who obviously belongs in heaven based on the Christian mythology is assigned the wrong code & end up down below. A kind demon (is there really such a thing?) tries to help her & triggers a summit between the top angel & top demon. And the book ends, without even a clue as to what the resolution might be. Grr. If I was to GUESS, my guess is that the Angel & Demon clerks will fall in love before it's over & done. At the time of this review, book 2 is not yet published.
11. Curvy & The Cursed Jude Cocaigne 2.5/5
One of the oddest paranormal/fantasy stories I've ever read. There are 4 main characters:
A billionaire Evil Male Warlock (I don't get what the Billionaire/Mafia thing is in fantasy books…), Bella, who is both beauty & the beast & a very strong witch, An extremely overweight your lady (the book makes a big deal of her size) & the young lady's best friend, Nola. Nola talks her friend into being a waitress at a party at the billionaires home for lots of money. Upon arriving, he learns how evil the warlock is & falls head over heels in love with Bella. Nola gets kidnapped, & our other female protagonist saves the day. Finally, her & Bella live HEA. Odd stuff. It is readable, but didn't really hit me emotionally.
12. Pitchfork Prep Academy P Mattern Did Not Finish 1/5
This mediocre NC17 Sex comedy is totally out of place here. It isn't very funny, & wouldn't be erotic for most old enough to legally read it. MEH.
13. Red Moon Rising Erzabet Bishop & Gina Kincaid 3/5
I like Ms Kincaid's writing, but when she teams up with Ms Bishop it seems to always turn into adult (NC17) reading, though at least they waited for the last few pages this time. This was better than some of their collaborations I've read. I much prefer MS Kincaid on her own or writing with Ms Gorri.
14. Goddess Of Mischief Cailee Francis 4/5
IMO, this is the best story in this set.I've never heard of this author before, but if book 2 (Angel Of Magic) is out, I want to read it! Really great story telling. It's especially telling of how much I enjoyed it as it did contain 2 elements that tend to bother me:
1. Christianity
2. Explicit adult behavior in a supernatural book (inappropriate imo).
That said, the characters & plotting were so well done that I've found a new top 10 author!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from booksirens for giving my two cents. This was a fun compilation of paranormal books. A few reviews of individual books. A Summer Of Love & Death by Janna Ruth sees Lucille going home for a break only to meet a Finnish vampire who's gf is her reincarnated lover from 500 yrs ago. What lucille didn't count on was a head found outside the camp window. Now Lucille along with her friend Fsbian will help clear the vampires name and let love triumph. Abra-cat-abra by pepper Mcgraw made me LOL. We have mysterious cat dieties who find other cats to become familiar and then intertwine them with witches. Beta wolf Corwin and head with Natalie butt heads like no tomorrow. Things are happening that can't be explained such as all the powers of the other witches are being activated...but how? Natalie can't stand the wolf...he is just so....wolfy. Corwin finally learns that the witch is his mate at the worst possible time. Can 2 opposing personalities actual get along? Broody & the beast by lulu Sylvian has a great cute meet. Paisley wished for love from her ex hubby until it backfired. Now off galavanting with his new chicken, Paisley realizes that it wasn't gonna work. The ex doesn't ask about their daughter and he doesn't know about the bun in the oven. When she takes her kid to the park, they meet an incredibly handsome man and his daughter. Bothell girls scream as they are dressed the same! It's cute. Both Eric and Paisley have played dates with the girls and Paisley is working with thr firefighters Calendar but it's even hotter with Eric in it. Eric is super attracted to Paisley but feels guilty bc of us dead wife. Something is different about Eric...not just the scar on his face...but smtg that runs deeper. Can they handle one another when things get a bit hairy and glittery? Good read!
I always have loved to get my hands on books that are compilations of short stories, specially when they are paranormal romances.
This didn't disappoint as I enjoyed most of them, and to be honest, that is kinda rare for me. This is a very good collection and a way to find new writers to explore their work. So here is some thoughts and comments for my future self, because I'm always so forgetful.
-> A summer of love & death by Janna Ruth Despite that this is a YA bonus scene for an existing series, this was quite refreshing and exciting to read. Sounds like the heroes of this story has had a lot of adventures. Despite being in school and around the age of 18-19, everyone sounded and acted more mature. If the school would not be mentioned, then probably no one could guess how young they all are. Magic and vampires, demons... a little bit of mystery and fighting with intention to save some one as well as some romantic intentions - exciting adventures.
-> Abra-Cat-Abra by Pepper McGraw I'm not a cat person, not at all but this was ridiculously funny. About witches and werewolfs and others - and meddling matchmaker cats - hilarious. I think I need to look in these series further.
-> Broody and the beast by Lulu M. Sylvian Such a swoony, lovely story. Hallmark rom-com with some paranormal elements. I loved it, makes me all happy and greedy. Never have I ever read a book where main heroine is pregnant, at least i think I haven't. Was slightly different and funny, touch of magic and demons. Love after love or second chances in love. Just swoon.
-> Haunted Holiday by Andra Dill Favourite movies Matrix and The Fifth Element - definitely my kind of person! A witch who can see gousts and a vampire investigating a murder mystery. They just met so I really hope they do have a future together. I like it, very nicely written.
-> Igniting the witch by Erin Richards Quite complex witches and warlocks world. Interesting to read and the rivalry was really cool. But I felt a little bit cheated, they talk about sex as the witches are quite free about it and the main heroine is a little of a party queen, but they don't indulge, decided to wait so I'm a little cross, not sure should I read the original story or not. As I glossed over it it seams some kind of possible love triangle, and I don't like them. Hmm need to think on this one as otherwise it was really interesting and challenging.
->Immortal Curse by Eden Heart I'm not a fan of bittersweet endings. Skip-readed this story, unfortunately. It's one of the longest and probably great and it's about vampires, but for me is hard to get over bittersweet.
->Kiss of the scorpion moon by N.D.Testa It's like a fairytale of olds... sort of, where magic and princesses and kings and dragons, witches and talking cats live. The power of women and love is the main point. They go on a small quest to regain their kingdom. Not too bad actually.
-> Earth witch by Gina Kincade & C.D. Gorri Very interesting, never have I been into much of elemental witches before. This story has a lot of elements and was well presented. So much new information but everything was easy to understand. A lot of things are happening in this story. And it's part of an existing series I believe and looks like each books concentrates on different witch from this student coven, where they find love and explore the problem of magic. A good one.
->Heaven knows by Ariel Dawn Interesting is that this story is different form others as there is no witches or magic involved. Its about heaven and hell, demons and angels and they have found a lost sole that they go on a quest to return with its body. It's like an epilogue of sorts, as it is the beginning a their story. Its from both points of view, even 3 points - demon, angel and the soul, I love that. Sounded intriguing and I would like to read the rest.
->Curvy and the cursed - Jude Cocaigne Beauty and the beast retelling with a twist where the Beast is a witch named Bella and her love interest is a curvy human girl. I finished this one despite I'm not in to f/f stories. It was good read.
Pitchfork prep academy by P.Mattern - was not for me either as there is more than one love interest.
Red moon rising by Erzabeth Bishop and Gina Kincade and Godess of mischief by Cailee Francis both stories are f/f romances, so not for me either.

The last book of this huge collection of talss, after reading 14 tales it was enough for me. But this book was pretty good, not overall my favourite but pretty good. This was a kinda mystery with angels book with FxF as main characters.
Abra-CAT-Abra--Pawsitively Purrfect Matches are a group of cats who are looking for a particular type of cat to become a familiar to a great witch. The ladies in the coven are now finding mates. The beta of the weres feels something for one of the witches but is trying to ignore it. HAUNTED HOLIDAY---Priya Carmichael is a witch who sees ghosts. She's hired by a wealthy lady who wants to speak to her deceased husband.Unfortunately that's not the ghost who appears to her. This book has several other stories within are short but highly addictive to read!! Reader beware of this addiction and stories!!.

This review is for Gina Kincade & C.D Gorri - Earth Witch Jane is a green witch and has self esteem issues. She is caring and loyal to a fault. He also has the hots for Arlo and unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, is under his medical care. This is a tale about, people being able to do anything, if they pluck up the courage and try. Jane is super nice, whilst Arlo is endlessly caring. They are a really nice couple, who are perfect for each other. This is a really sweet instalment in this series, which takes great strides in uncovering the overarching plot. This is a good book and really nice HEA for Jane and Arlo.
This review is for Erzabet Bishop & Gina Kincade - Red Moon Rising This is a shortish book about Kate, a witch who thought she had everything she needed until Devi, a Detective, scented that her mate was near. This is a super fast paced book - which could have benefitted from slowing down a little to aid which the character building and scene setting. This was still an enjoyable read and definitely worth reading

This was a fun compilation of 14 paranormal romance short stories. I wasn’t familiar with most of the author whose works were included and really enjoyed getting to sample new authors in an anthology. I will definitely be checking out Gina Kincade and Janna Ruth after this. I really enjoyed the variety of supernatural creatures and pairings, and I especially loved Curvy and the Cursed, a f/f retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Jude Cocaigne and The Summer of Love & Death by Janna Ruth which followed characters from previous works, which I haven’t read but enough background information was given that this didn’t matter.
If you enjoy paranormal romance, or if you’re thinking about branching out, this anthology is a great place to find new authors.
I received an advance review copy of Castings & Curses for free courtesy of BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I admit that I didn’t read up enough on this book to begin with and therefore didn’t realise that it was a Lesbian romance. Since I’m heterosexual it made me very uncomfortable once I did realise but it didn’t feel right to discard it so I continued reading. It is also a mystery in which we have angels, archangels, muses, humans and witches. Aurelia is an angel while Melinda is a goddess who had her major powers locked and is now a muse.
I found the basis of the story to be a bit strange and the ending suggests that this is the first of a series. The storyline takes us from earth to heaven and back again. The angels and archangels, in particular, don’t seem to be as powerful as I would have expected. Overall, it was well written but not my cup of tea.
I enjoyed this so much! I never considered myself much of a fantasy reader but at some point I’ve done a complete 180 and can’t seem to get enough.
This book has some GREAT stories in it— in fact, there are several that I really wish were their own full length novel, because I liked the characters and overall story THAT MUCH. The chemistry between Arlo and Jade in Earth Witch was 🤌🏻 and I loved the quirky meet cute and subsequent banter between Priya and Miles in Holiday Haunting. Honestly, the more I think back to all of the stories, the more I realize there was something to like about every single one.
If you’re a fan of fantasy, the supernatural, or just like a little (literal) magic with your romance, you should give this book a try!
This was an outstanding group of stories from some amazing authors. This has a bit of everything that is sure to capture you attention. I absolutely love these kind of books. Opportunities to read stories from different authors and dive into a different world with each book. A wonderful way to sample a series to see if it peaks your interest. I loved each of a the individual stories. Buckle up for a long read that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Highly recommend if you love paranormal romances and a great story.

Great collection of stories by the wonderful writers who support Shifters Unleashed. I've enjoyed reading their previous stories and the stories contained in this box set were just as wonderful enjoyable. The fourteen stories that are within this collection have great characters, lots of drama and action and steamy romantic encounters within these magical paranormal romance and urban fantasy tales that I volunteer to read and review. A Summer of Love and Death by Janna Ruth that starts this collection was a new writer for me to discover. The story about Lucille a witch and Fabian a water mage who helps Hanne a vampire prove her innocence of a murderous crime an engaging read.
This is a fabulous collection of stories by a variety of excellent authors. Each of the books that I read were well-written (despite a few typos in a couple of them) with wonderful characters and fantastic storylines. Some were steamier than others, but romance was there in all of them. I was drawn into each tale and kept hooked throughout. My favorite was Pepper McGraw's "Abra-CAT-Abra" which features matchmaking cats who "belong" (such a loose term when it comes to cats ~ LOL) to goddesses. I also loved Broody and the Beast by Lulu M Sylvan. I wasn't able to get into every book, but the ones I read were beyond intriguing so I give an overall 5 star rating.
I enjoy collections of short stories like this one because I always find new authors to enjoy! I'm not into horror or terror in any way, so some of the stories had parts that were a little too graphic/grotesque for my taste - not terrible, just not for me. I enjoyed that these are all paranormal and varying intensities of steamy. This is a perfect collection to get you in the mood for Halloween (and sexy times, too). My absolute favorite was Lulu Sylvian's Broody and the Beast - a little bit punny, very easy to read, and the characters are fun and relatable. Recommend! I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this review.
I really enjoyed all the different short stories in this book. One of my favorite things about anthologies, is getting to read new authors. There were quite a few in this book that are new to me and now I have more books to look for from those authors. It is a good preview of their writing styles and especially since they have to pack so much in a short story, these authors really shine. Very enjoyable read!.

Some favorite authors and some new ones I will checking out, deliver an amazing variety of romances with characters and storylines that will be hard to stop at just reading one. New Worlds, tastes of larger series and obstacles you would not think of. Loved reading a group of two or three at a time. Vivid locales, characters and the deep feelings and emotions that flair up when you meet the one meant for you. Totally enjoyed this anthology and would recommend it to everyone.

There is such a treasure trove of authors to be found in anthologies or collections. It gives you the chance to experience new worlds that you might never have discovered otherwise. The grouping of these authors is amazing and the stories are fantastic. They go from really funny, sweet, steamy to full of action. You get lost in new worlds and characters, many of which have series which you can then also go explore. There is definitely something for everyone here and you cannot go wrong with this.
“Witches, Wizards, Shifters, Vampires, Angels, Demons, Hybrids, matchmaking cats, and other mythical creatures lie in wait between the pages of this limited edition collection of magical paranormal romance and urban fantasy tales.” This has some incredible stories written by some incredible authors. Each pulls you in with incredible characters, exciting and thrilling storylines, paranormal romances, magic, drama and so much more. It’s an incredible anthology that’s just waiting to be read again and again.
Once again our favourite authors have gotten together to write another great selection of paranormal books. Varying lengths of reads but all excellent. Stories of lovers battling together against their adversaries. Of good winning over evil. Some HEA's and some HFN. Witches, wizards, demons, angels, and more. If you like paranormal/magical stories then this is a great selection to keep you entertained.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I voluntarily leave this honest review.
This really was an interesting detective type story; except the PI's were angels and the bad guy(s) were (very bad)!! This seemed to be written in the style of Agatha Christie or maybe a little like Brother Cadfael (?); it grabs your interest in the first chapter and keeps you engrossed to the end! Very well done, with a segue to perhaps a second book? Who done it? You'll find out at the end!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoy a good anthology because you get stories from some of your favorites and then get introduce to some new authors. Plus, there is always some thing unique to each story that offers a variety for the reader. This is a collection of paranormal reads featuring a wide array of magical and paranormal creatures finding mates and love. I enjoyed all of these stories and the characters are very likable.
Another amazing collection of short stories, with every trope in the PNR and Urban Fantasy genres, shifters, demons, angels, witches, vampires, all with a thing in common: magic and a lot of humour. With a few of my faves (Ariel Dawn, Gina Kincade & Ezrabet Bishop, Pepper McGraw, C.D.Gorri, Lulu M. Sylvian among others). 14 stories in this collection, and everyone will find the right for them. I love them all, and can't wait to read some of the full lenght books from these stories.
A collection of magical stories - pure fun. I especially enjoyed “Broody and the Beast “ by Lulu M. Sylvian, a new author to me. My other favorites are “Abra-CAT-Abra” by Pepper McGraw and “Earth Witch” by Gina Kinkade and C.D. Gorri. I love all of these authors and am always thrilled to see a book by them.

An interesting collection of various stories from some authors I know and some new ones I found. Some of the stories I'd read before, but that didn't stop me reading them again. A couple had me searching out the authors for more. A bit for everyone no matter what supernatural you're into.

I really enjoyed what I read, each story worked well overall with the theme. I was invested in each world and characters. It does everything that I was hoping for and I always enjoy the tales in this genre. I knew a bunch of the authors and have enjoyed other works.

A great collection of short stories from multiple authors. You have a wide range of stories each involving witches or magic in some form. There were a few that I wish would have been longer, they ended but didn't finish the story very well. If you are looking for a group of fun tales, give this one a chance. I love this book. If you love paranormal romance you will love the this book. The authors are hilarious. I love the remark about the baby doing a roundoff inside her while she is drooling over the volunteer firefighter. So many real life situations only done through paranormal. A must read!!!!.
