The Awe of God Bible Study Guide plus Streaming Video: The Astounding Way a Healthy Fear of God Transforms Your Life

Rate this book
Is the desire of your heart to be close to God?

Do you long for an intimate relationship with your Creator but He seems elusive? Perhaps it's because something essential is missing in your life—the fear of the Lord. Don't let this frighten you. Fearing God is very different than being afraid of God. It's the key to everything. Holy Fear is not a topic you'll hear much about these days, but if you want to build a faith that stands strong through troubled times, you cannot afford to ignore it.

In this six-session video Bible study (streaming code included), bestselling author John Bevere explores more than forty promises in Scripture given to those who embrace holy fear—rewards such as holiness, wisdom, legacy, confidence, happiness, and security. He invites you to take a fresh look at what it means to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. And he shows how approaching God in this way allows you to discover the deeper relationship with the Lord that your soul longs for and that He desires to have with you.

I really liked the study and the anecdotes/scriptures used to support his perspective on the fear of God. I have to go back and actually read the physical book though.

This study guide (and book) are extremely judgmental. He is very legalistic. Bevere distorts Scripture to prove his points. He uses personal (extra-biblical) revelation. Renounces those who disagree with him.
Do not recommend.

I only really did the discussion questions with a group and skipped the rest, they were pretty good questions though.

First Bible study in awhile that actually had deep and thought-provoking questions. Highly recommend especially if you serve in a leadership position.

Great Bible study but you absolutely have to read it along with the book as suggested in the Bible study. Videos with the outlines were the best. Enjoyed some of the insightful questions.

This is positive fear! Amazing breakdown by John Bevere.

This is positive fear! Amazing breakdown and application by John Bevere. This books makes it so simple to understand the concept and impact of the “fear of God”. I only wish someone had explained it to me like this years ago.

I went through this with a small group at church. The video lessons were good and most of the questions afterward were thought provoking and started group discussion, but I did not particularly like the study guide layout.
