Things had changed a lot over the last few months for Pawsitively Irregular: Stern had proposed to his lovers, Trish and Cyra, who’d eagerly accepted. That prompted Cammie to stop stalling and admit her own feelings, leading to their new dynamic in a larger relationship. Stern set plans for their wedding, hoping that his fiancées would accept them.
But that relationship wasn’t the only one in their crew. They’d met and brought in the angelic, Jon Benderson, and his irregular wife, Nicole. The husband and wife had dealt with many of the same problems that Stern had, as her perk required that she keep her face covered by a mask all the time.
Now a full crew, the six of them delved dungeon after dungeon together. Their joy over finally having a full crew was tempered by prejudice and hatred— a group of Walkers led by a couple of bigots raised their ugly heads. The two crews had a few minor clashes, leading to the antagonistic group being ejected from a city, further increasing the hatred between them.
Stern and his friends didn’t let that stop them from finding their own happiness. In the city of Blackwood, Stern’s family had arrived and held a wedding for their son. It was then that people came to know that Stern was the son of legendary Walker Seamus Masterson, head of Darkhand and the lead crew of Rescue Squad.
Stern found himself bemused to end up much like his father: a summoner of many perks, married to three lovely women. They enjoyed their extended honeymoon in Blackwood, but the time for pressing on again was coming fast.

I like the soft ending but,
The series as a whole is just boring. Add in the sickly sweet relationships and the choppy action from how the dungeons are set up, the the story falls flat.

entertaining but mediocre
This book followed along with the others in the series. They are an entertaining idea, with a mediocre result. Each book feels like it is one long summary of what happens. The majority of the story is told through conversation, the complete opposite of ‘show, don’t tell.’ You get people explaining to each other what their morning routine is and why…. Every time they get to a new town. The same conversation is repeated every time Stern talks to a guard about his summons, every town…. The MC did the same delivery quest to a new town every time, yet it came as a surprise to one of his party members halfway through the book, and Stern himself was never prepared for it and needed a party member to store the letter in his bag.
Not to mention the complete black and white of everyone. Either strangers are open minded to hearing about the benefits of irregulars, or they hate them with no questions asked. Plus there is never any conflict amongst the group, they always perfectly mesh in their desires for the future.
The concept was fun, but as the seemingly final book in this series, it was a bit disappointing.

Great conclusion to a 4 story arc. Can't go wrong with a Daniel Schinhofen story! I haven't!
I hate having to wait for new stories from Daniel! They're worth the wait but I still hate it!😩 That being said, this is another winner. All of the MCs and support characters are all still well crafted and interesting. With 6 MCs there are fun things to make their stories unique. And the "bad guys" are mostly just annoying and whiney bigots, not really even overly threatening.
The scenarios both in the various dungeons and the overland travel encounters are challenging and entertaining.
So, if you like Daniel Schinhofen's writing style then is typical to previous series. In fact, this is a follow-up to his Alpha World series; the kids. If you haven't read that series first, it won't hurt your enjoyment of this series. In some ways I enjoyed this series better because it is shorter. But...now I have to wait for a new series as it feels like this one is complete.

I was finally getting into this series, but the author decided it was a good time to give it a soft ending, meaning he might pick it up again later but it's not part of his planning for the near future. The interaction between the characters is, as with most books of this author, pretty good. My biggest problem with this book, and the ones before it, was that things repeat a lot. This is due to the nature of the world the story is placed in, but it gets a bit tiresome. Below what happens:
1) go to a town with a dungeon
2) turn in the quests from between towns and find an inn
3) take a day for fun in town and gear maintenance
4) get dungeonquests and do a dungeonrun
5) turn in the quest shards after the succesful run
6) leave town and to to 1)
This is not terrible, but does take a lot of the surprise out of the tale. Although there is sometimes something that happens between towns to shake it up a bit.

Good series
Alternate universe, LitRPG, magic, fantasy races, harem adult situations fade to black
Stern and his crew are tested again. With the introduction of the Travelers, we learn that other worlds are connected to this one, and that Stern's parents and their good friends Gerald and MarySue were originally from Alpha World, another LitRPG series by the author, and that a third world is also connected.
Considering Stern's promise to name a daughter after the shopkeeper, a list at least showing the names of the children for each of the moms would have been appreciated, though Nicole mentioning her desire for another child, and at least one of Stern's wives echoing that sentiment could have been addressed with such a list. Obviously, there were names of friends listed as recovered Walkers, including the author also making a bow inside his own story. LOL!
Well edited, and enjoyed.

It was alright - it read like what it was, a premature soft ending.
I enjoyed the start of this series but as it progressed it started suffering from the same problem that other series by this author do. The story gets bogged down with small, repetitive cycles - describing meals, baths, talking to the rescue desk person, some conflict with a bigot/jealous person, affirmations of love and ... repeat. There's just no room left for the story to breathe and have something new and interesting happen.
So as much as I really enjoyed the first book because it was dynamic and painted a really interesting world with fun mechanics, all the novelty of the story got squeezed out more with each book.

Nice closing
I have read most of Daniel Schinhofen's works, so while I am biased, I have to say this is a 5-star book.
This story details how Stern and his crew are adults growing beyond the confines of one irregular group of Dungeon Walkers into the wider society of their world. They work to incentivize other Walkers to be the best they can be, whether that is working with others instead of competing with them or sacrificing some of their gains to help save others in need.
Then they further transition from active Dungeon Walkers to supporting the next generation through crafting and teaching and raising their own children.
While I am sad to see an end to their adventures, I am glad that the possibility of further stories exists after the children are raised.

Definitely a wrap up point for the series
This book had a lot of very sweet/romantic plot points with the occasional spike of danger and bigotry. Having the author aware that this was the last of the series planned at this stage, he has wrapped it all up nicely with a large and pretty bow knot. Plenty of Alpha World characters made appearances, including hints of more coming (if the story ever continues). I enjoyed the book, it tries very hard to bring out happy tears by being very saccharine in parts. Although to get to a good stopping point a lot of the dungeon runs and travel between cities were just summarised rather than the detail that is usual in Daniel’s books.

I loved it but I had a few issues
Seamus McMasterson and family were characters from another series of books based on video games.
And, If you hear people saying that they didn’t enjoy eating mountain lion meat, chances are they didn’t prepare it correctly. You should clean the cougar meat properly and then rub it with olive oil. Then you can season it with spice mix, pepper, and salt.
After that, wrap the meat piece with bacon in order to keep it moist during the cooking process. This step is very important because cougar meat is very lean. Cook like you would any beef or poultry.

Fantasy-adventure slice-of-life, with a simple perk progression system.
Stern and his Crew travel to new cities, delve into magical dungeons, get points for gear or fallen adventurers, and get individual Perks. Perks that grant limited but powerful magical abilities.
The focus is on the people. The ones met along the way as well as the ones in the crew.
Sadly, this is the end for now. Hopefully, the author will come back to show us more of this interesting and fun world.

This was a bittersweet ending to an amazing series. Stern and his wives and friends overcome a terribly unfair matchup that could have worse ramifications than just fracturing.
I loved the variation on dungeon diving this series had. A Walker is limited to 3 runs in a dungeon. 3. It made it imperative to plan out your runs for maximum benefits. I would have loved more lore on the Blighted, but still had a helluva ride with all 4 books in this series. Worth the digital and physical versions.

A brilliant and fun read!
Fantasy world, dungeons, monsters and magic? What's not to love?
And that's also what makes these books great, the love shared between characters, the camaraderie and shared adventures. It's a dungeon Delving novel with some slice of life elements that round it out to an awesome read.
While I'd hoped the series might have run longer into the higher tier dungeons we kept getting hints about, it was a perfect place for the crew to put their adventures on hold.
But I do hope the author will pick these characters up for future runs again!

That ended well
I liked this series better than most people seemed to, but I can see why they didn't.
It started rough. Way too much drama and misery up front without enough joy for the first two books. I get the feeling that this was meant to be a much longer series, but with the low sales Daniel Schinhofen wrapped it up early and it benefited from the brevity.
Book 4 here had most all of the padding yanked out and we have a more stripped down, but not quite bare bones story.
He should have been doing something like this all along.

Though the author said that this will be a soft close to the series I can but hope that he takes it backup in the future as the storyline has been very enjoyable and it is something I would see continue. The cruel facts of Stories having to be market driven are what they are and Hopefully the market will shift back to make more people understand the enjoyment they can get out of this series.

This should be a must read for those who love this genre!!!!
This series has continued to grow on me and has became one of my favorites by this author!!! I for one will be sad to see it stop and will hope that it cones back at sometime in the future!!! What an amazing adventure this unique dungeon world has taken us on so far!!! Some truly outstanding characters, unique adventures and amazing world building are just a few of the examples of this series!!!

Good wrap-up
I liked the premise of this series. I hoped it would go on longer but I understand. After Daniel is only one man and he has to do right by him. But I digress, this is a good wrap-up for the series. The character development in the previous books leads well to this conclusion. I also appreciated the continuation of the Alpha Word “universe” as a next generation saga. No spoilers, sorry. Not sorry.

A Great ending to a series that should have been longer
It's sad to see this series go. While I may not have enjoyed it as much as the other Schinofen series, I still enjoyed reading it more than many others. My only guess is that it was a bit too much of a slow burner in terms of plot development for many people, focusing too much on the people. I can only hope it may come back in the future.

April 21, 2023this series continues to entertain. i am prudish so i am happy with the less graphic descriptions the author gives during the intimate times the MC has with his wives... the author has other series that have got me blushing way more... the Luck one i also enjoy. I think the author does a great job with getting the emotions across during the revival stuff. The way he writes gets me smiling and weeping both during the books. great job author. i will keep reading your stuff.

Well that surprised me
I didn't expect the series to end on book four. The pacing was well enough that it could have easily gone on for another five or six books, if the pacing kept speeding up the pace it was.
Still, that was a good ending. He achieved everything you want ed, made friends, and is living the good life. I'm happy for it

Awesome
This book was as amazing as all of the rest. The end seemed a bit rushed but still covered everything and wrapped up the story nicely. Honestly, though, I hate that this was such a short series. I have enjoyed it very much. Fortunately, there are many more schinhofen books to look forward to. So far all of which have been an awesome adventure into amazing worlds.

a fun lit RPG story
this lit RPG was a fun read. the characters are well written and I like the way the bad guys and the good guys interact with each other. there's lots of adventure drama the fight scenes are good and he even has a little bit of fun times in it. all in all for me it was a good read.

It's too bad this is the last
I read pretty much all of Daniel's series and enjoy them all in bummed that this one didn't perform well enough to continue but he managed a good ending that should he decide to pick it back up again in the future still leaves the option to start back up.

Excellent series!
This has been a great series. I was hooked at book one and it just kept getting better with each sequel. Waited awhile for the 4th to come out bit this was definitely worth the wait. Fantastic characters and a great story line. I’ve even bought the first three audio books. Hope the fourth comes out soon.

Schinhofen pulls off another Fantasy series
Another fantasy from Daniel Schinhofen. If you enjoyed the Alpha World Series then you will pick up on the connections with this story arch and recognize many of the characters in this book. If you haven’t read any of his stuff then prepare yourself for a treat but fair warning, Mr. Schinhofens fiction is habit forming

great follow on series, great on its own too.
Love this series and Alpha Company, you can read this series on its own however. I really recommend reading Alpha Company first just because it’s a great series and makes reading this so much more satisfying.
I would love more books with both series cast, as both series have become books I read every year

Loved it
So this book brought it all together in a wonderful way. It made me wonder why it took until this book to realize the connection between this world and alpha world. When I did it made me want to reread this series again to see where I missed the clues. Excellent series. Love the dungeons and the characters.

Awesome
Loved the series, sad to see it go... Hopefully there is a chance for it to come back.

Great book and a good series, sad to see it end but it was a nice continuation of a story that I still enjoy. Hopefully we see more series like this of some of Daniel’s other ended series

Great conclusion
This book was written well with the characters development in mind. As a fan of is work it is sad to it end, but story-wise it was executed wonderfully. I just hope there will be more of the series.

Amazing rest point for the story
I have nothing but praise for this series. I honestly hope that the author will pick it back up in the future, however I cannot imagine a better way to rest for this series. None of the cliffhangers or lose ends you see so often.
