I guess I missed the boat on this one. It was a quick and easy read but the story and characters weren’t particularly interesting or intricate. I felt like I wanted more of explanation at the end. I don’t totally see how the woman’s son at the beginning was involved in the story.
An female FBI new recruit along with two of her gal pals who are detectives stumble upon an illegal child porn and abuse pedophile ring while on vacation. Who in the town is part if it? Who can they trust? Will they be able to save the kids or die trying? Four stars!

Not my usual genre. I generally stick to psychological thrillers or horror. But this was a type of crime thriller tmo and I really enjoyed it. It was interesting throughout as action packed. Great read.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The writing style took a minute to get on board with at the beginning, but once I did, the story really took off. Very easy to read with lots of twists and turns throughout. I really enjoyed the character development and it made me want to go back and get to know Tanya and her friends better. This was my first book by this author, and my first with these characters, which left me wishing I had a little more backstory to truly connect with them -- I'd imagine if you had read the previous books, this would not be an issue!
I am always hesitant to read books with animal main characters being that I am a veterinarian and authors often get it wrong, but the author did her homework and created a very believable canine character in Max. (Although side note - she mentions he has husky in him and IMHO there is no way in hell a husky mix would make a good working K9 ;) sorry not sorry. Yes I am biased). I really enjoyed his integration into the story and the ability for the author to keep it a thriller.
All in all I really liked this book and I look forward to reading the original books so that I can learn more about Agent Stone and her companions! I give this one 4 stars.
*Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest, non-biased review of the book :). Thank you Tikiri!
A short holiday with friends may sound wonderful to FBI Tanya Stone. What can go wrong in a place named Paradise Cove? Car wrecks, murders, terrified teens, and so much more has Tanya’s radar on high alert. Along with her K9 companion Max, she will delve into the town’s hidden secrets and what she will find will have her calling in for all the help she can get. An interesting plot, great characters, and vivid descriptions makes for a very good read.
Fast paced, full of tension and drama. The trio of amateur femme fatales find their holiday interrupted by poisoning, murder and dastardly criminal activities in a sleepy town. Who can be trusted? Whilst a great read (once started it’s very hard to stop), all the action is telescoped into only a few days, making the story rather unrealistic. I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.
Her Deadly End is a fast paced adventure in which author Tikiri Herath manages to tell a story dealing with mature themes without resorting to graphic sex, violence or language. Not an easy task but Ms. Herath manages to pull it off with only a few ‘really?’ moments. My only beef is that the secondary characters, Asha, Katy and even Max, don’t really add much value. Thankfully her heroine, Tanya Stone, makes up for it.
Another new author for me and all I can say is WOW! This one is full of twists and turns. The plot was awesome and kept me engrossed in the story. It's full of great characters and very well written. I loved it and can't wait to explore more from this author. Tanya and her friends Asha & Katy went to Paradise Cove for a little down time. While they were sitting in a cafe a couple things happened. A teen tried to steal some sugar buns and after Tanya was done working through that issue a car came barreling down the road with a pickup in hot pursuit. They both smashed into the cafe. While everyone was checking on each other, the woman driver of the car shoots the male in the truck. When the Sheriff arrives he is quick to call it road rage. Tanya, Asha and Katy don't agree and believe there is more to the story. When the group returns to the house they are staying at they realize the female driver of the car lived very close to them. That is all Asha needed. Since she was a private investigator she went to the victims house to search for clues. Then the friends instantly agreed there was more going on in this quiet little town and they were determined to find out what it is. They will find more than they bargained for and Tanya will put her FBI training to the test. They will deal with a crooked sheriff and receive threats as they uncover the truth. I absolutely adored this story and can't wait for more.
My first book from this author and will definitely not be my last. I like the easy-to-read writing style and the way the story is action-packed from the start. The characters work well and the descriptions of people and places fuel your imagination. This book and author should be on your must-read list. I received this arc for free and I wanted to leave an honest review.
A gripping story about a new FBI agent, who goes for a short vacation with 2 friends, and her FBI trained dog, to a peaceful town, only to be involved in crime after crime. Tanya Stone is determined to solve the mystery of what is going on in this town before she has to report for duty.
Well written, with no extraneous fluff or pages of meaningless dialogue. Yet characters and scenes were well fleshed out. Every description had meaning to the story. Or so it seemed to me.
Warning, you may feel anxious quite a bit of the time you read this book!
Three warrior women take on a small town and win. No mushy love and longing in this story. Chapter one starts at a record pace and never slows down. A woman kills her son and than herself, why? When Stone searches for the answer she finds secrets buried deep. I was gifted this from the author.
Newly recruited to the FBI, Tanya Stone takes a mini-vacation with her two friends. Barely had they arrived in Paradise Cove and settled down to lunch when an SUV crashed into the building. When, moments later, a second car slams into the back of the first, the original driver shoots the new arrival dead, then turns her gun on herself. What is going on in this previously peaceful town?
I began this book before realising it is a part of a larger world. At first, I was running to catch up with the backstory and the relationship between the three, but then everything clicked into place. Some events felt implausible, but the story was a quick thriller with a good closure.
Could not put it down! So many twists and turns and I loved every moment of it. The book shows a beautiful friendship between Tanya, Asha, and Katy on vacation in a beautiful place called Paradise Cove. However, things take a turn when they witnessed a murder suicide at a cafe. As an added bonus I love Tanya’s dog Max and how loyal he is to his job and owner 😀. I cannot wait to read book 2 and see what else this amazing trio can do.
A BIG FIVE STARS. This is a slam dunk, adrenaline pumping, stomach churning novel. Tikiri is on her A Game throughout. The characters are dynamic, the story -riveting- the scenes-explosive. I can't praise this book enough. Very Highly Recommended.
Action from the first few pages to twists and turns throughout the book. Tanya has a very tough time with too few clues and too many potential suspects. Drive and discipline push though and make her tougher by the minute./ She is developing into a strong FBI agent.
Enjoyed this book very much. The ending was a surprise. This book will grab you from the start and will not let up until the last paragraph. It will have you on the edge of your seat holding your breath! I didn't want to stop reading to sleep or run errands. It's just that good. I will definitely be reading more books in this series!
Twisting through a mixed situation a rookie FBI agent leads the reader through a small town crime ring while on vacation. With no idea of who the perpetrators are three young women stumble onto a paedophile trafficking operation and bring it down.
FBI newbie and friends on holiday, get involved with a town of strange people. Hard to know who is the bad guys and who isn't. No tolerance for mistreatment of children, but who can you trust?
I like mysteries and this one was great. This was my first read by this author and I'll read more of this author's tales. Will recommend to other mystery readers.
What a way to start a vacation! Loved the characters, fast paced book, great ending. I could actually feel as if I were there. Can't wait to read the next book!
Great opening to a new series. Wonderful characters from previous series in a new setting. Tense, gut wrenching story with plenty of action and plenty of suspects. Enjoy this suspense filled story. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Tanya, Asha, and Katy went on a sabbatical for a short time to relax, a friend's time out. The stay at Paradise Cove started out innocent enough and then they all get thrown into a mystery when children became Missing and then kidnapped and involved in a Child Porn Ring. The adults involved drew their last breath too when they discovered who was behind the debacle.
