She craved the rush of adrenaline that came with her job. Her craving for him was just as dangerous.
Rancher Josh McNamara has two problems—rustlers keep cutting his fences and stealing his cattle and he can’t stop thinking about the mysterious woman he’d shared last weekend. She’d been a wildcat in his arms and lit a fire in his gut for more, then disappeared before he learned her name. Hopefully, he’d solve one problem, with the help of the new sheriff in town.
Harper Quinn is hoping to leave her disastrous life behind and start fresh. A new job as sheriff of a small county where no one knows her past and there’s no man to complicate her life. She’s even found a new playground for when the urge strikes without the complications of a relationship. But when her first case involves the steamy cowboy she’d sunk her claws into last Saturday night, she begins to think she has the Midas touch when it comes to trouble.
If you have read the series then you’ve already fallen for Josh. This is his story and it doesn’t disappoint A charming but oh so naughty cowboy, a feisty as hell heroine, spicy, and a dash of suspense. Oh yeah I was here for it all
If you like your books sexy, passionate and oh so feisty, you will love this book! Hot, steamy scenes, plenty of drama and a whole lotta yeehah! Absolutely recommend! I received an ARC and leave this review voluntarily.
Fun, hot, mysterious, and with unexpected twists, Taming the Wildcat is a romance you don't want to miss. I laughed out loud over the blueberry muffins and fell in love with the Dom who refused to give up on his Cherry. The underlying suspense only makes the story that much better. And the HEA...sigh.
This book has it all. Naughty s3x. Romance. Suspense. A mystery. The perfect book boyfriend. A feisty heroine. Loved it. Highly recommended to lovers of spice and suspense.
So in the last book I liked Josh but he was kinda gross at the beginning of this. Bragging about all his buckle bunnies. How he had 4 in one day once. EW!
So Josh and Harper meet in a sex club. They are scheduled to have a threesome but ones Josh meets her he wants her to himself. The do have the threesome but its over fast.
I liked that she was the sheriff. We don’t get enough stories of female sheriffs. She tells him he has slept with a lot of people and he said so you’ve slept with other people too and I kind of liked his response. He is right you shouldn’t judge but on the other hand, 4 women in one day.
After the threesome the next 30% of the book is just her first day at work. Josh has some cattle stolen so she is working on that. The receptionist is opening buttons to flirt with Josh, the deputy is telling her not to trust him. They do a little police work but its mainly gossiping. The mayor turns up and tells her to forget about the cattle. Seems suss!
He breaks into her house while she is in the bath and they have sex again but she throws him out right after
More of his cattle is stolen. Its boring!
Harper is annoying. She got hurt one time and she’s never dating again. I hate that!
She is so closed off I don’t know what he sees in her to be honest. Whenever he tries to have a conversation with her she changes the subject, if he hits a nerve she just says fuck you and walks away.
I did enjoy the part where he lassoed her when she tried to walk away again.
At 77% I realised they had only known each other 3 days. Not including the time at the club
Then there is a revelation including Evan which made me laugh out loud.
Then we get the big ending with who is stealing his cows. I guess right at the beginning the first time they spoke to them about it.
Nice epilogue
The chapters are way too long and there was no name headers so you didn’t know who’s POV we were in. The were both really horny. Her nipples are always hard and her clit is constantly throbbing, should get that checked. His dick is always stretching and that when there not together, when they are its even worse.
Why have scenes with a dodgy mayor and the old sheriff who cant keep his nose out of her business if there not going to have anything to do with the story?
This is a BDSM book or I think it is supposed to be but she is not a good sub and he is not a good dom. I didn’t get what it was supposed be
It was just ok

From the moment they met, I loved the way Josh let Harper be herself; he certainly wasn’t your typical Dom. In fact, I think he found her bratty side amusing and enjoyed it when she tried topping from the bottom. While I think she longed to give up control, I really couldn’t imagine her surrendering to any man. Yet Josh got under her skin with surprising ease. Following their steamy encounter, Josh discovers Harper is the new sheriff in town and begins a determined pursuit. Yet, Harper keeps running scared. I loved how Josh wasn’t afraid to put everything on the line and show his vulnerabilities to Harper. When rustlers hit Josh’s ranch, Harper is on the case, with suspects at every turn. So, was it the aliens in Ellie’s backyard? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a new to me author who did not dissappoint. Harper is the new sheriff in town and starting over where nobody knows her past. She found a new place to enjoy and had a wonderful night with a new guy only to sneak out before getting to know him To her surprise she runs unto him when he reports cattle rustlers. What will happen? You will have to read to fins out.

Taming the Wildcat is a fantastic combination of western, mystery and a heated romance. Josh was as expected with his dominant, over protectiveness. I loved how he was with lending a hand to those who needed it and was also able to step aside for Harper to do her job. And Harper may have been submissive in the bedroom, but was able to stand her ground when she needed to do so. I will definitely be looking for the other books in the series.
This is book four in this series Cowboy Rough and my first. This is a new author for me and I am looking forward to reading more from them. The story flows well, easy to read. The characters fit well together and have great chemistry. A good read on a rainy afternoon.
I really enjoyed reading Taming the Wildcat. The chemistry between Josh and Harper is wonderful. This book is spicy but also has an underlying suspense. Once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down. I would recommend reading this book.

Loved this book! We follow Josh (Evan's brother) and his self discovery of his enjoyment. But then our FMC is someone you may recognise from Between Two Cowboys: Cherry!!! Low and behold that Cherry is actually the new sheriff in town and her name is actually Harper. I was captivated by their dynamic and the case that brought them together. Ellie made me chuckle, especially when she came to the rescue with her rolling pin. The spice level in this is great, just as the rest of the series and other Darah Lace books.
