Amanda Bentley loves escaping into fictional worlds through reading and writing. A typical Pisces, she’s as much a mood writer as she is a mood reader. She likes her book boyfriends morally grey, but she’ll read any book with romance (preferably drenched in spice and angst).

When she’s not writing, you might find her chasing her wild toddler, or on stage, performing improv with her husband. She’s a creative, free spirit, and while she loves a fun adventure, there’s no place like her bed with a book.

Festive Fun series finale! This is a perfect ending for this series because everything made so much sense now and all my questions are finally answered.

I love how we get to have both Kate and Lorenzo's POVs this time. And I know I kept saying Lorenzo is so suspicious and is basically a walking red flag (he looks like it during the previous books okay?) but I'm so glad I was wrong on that part. Kate is still annoying for me though, but in a good way this time because she's so badass here.

The plot isn't overwhelming as I though it would be. The ending was actually sweet. And I'm just so glad I was wrong about Lorenzo and Santi. I also wouldn't mind reading about Santi and Char too hehe.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I was having Kate & Zo withdrawals a month ago and of course Amanda came in clutch with this book drop. I’m not big on the miscommunication trope but I love the hell out of these two that I went right along for the ride. The beginning of LMU was heartbreaking. Kate describes how she was feeling and I know that exactly feeling but never could put it into words. Then the book kind of lost me. I wanted more of Kate and Zo but we got a lot of them separately and not together. It definitely makes since with the direction Amanda took this book in but it just wasn’t my favorite. At 70% it grabbed more of my attention. Lorenzo’s whole vibe is different in this one than all the others. He felt like a total different guy and honestly I’m not sure how I feel about it. There is one scene that just didn’t go with how Zo was and actually bugged me a bit. I’m sure most people wouldn’t even notice it but I definitely did. With that being said the freaking forehead kisses…stooooopp 🥹 so cute but definitely unexpected from him. He was portrayed in such a different way in the other books to where in this one I feel like it’s a different dude. I wouldn’t say this book was super steamy but there were a few steamy scenes and of course they were written great. I don’t know…I just didn’t feel like these were the same characters from the other books. Regardless I’ll love Kate & Zo “For now and for always”

Thank you Amanda for sending me the ARC!

SPOILER⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

I wanted to mention one part that bothered me about this one and it might be a spoiler so I’m putting it here. Towards the end Zo doesn’t open Kate’s door and he has a whole feminist moment where he doesn’t think she needs someone to open her door. I know it’s because in another one of the books a door scene happens. He said that she can handle it and everything else herself. Then fast forward to the next sex scene and he’s telling her to get into the backseat NOW and grabbing her neck and calling her a “good girl”. Zo had his whole feminist moment and then turned Dom real quick. I’m sorry those don’t go together at all. I might be one of the only ones who felt that way but It just didn’t feel right to me. I’m all for the way he was sexually with her but that whole not opening the door for her moment wasn’t necessary. IMO.

❤️ KATE & ZO ❤️

I hate how this is the end but I also loved how it ended. The anticipation of what the secret was from the first book to this last book is insane. My heart was always at 130bpm while reading this book 😂 Honestly, I came up with so many conclusions of my own but none of them were close to the truth 🤪🤭

This isn’t the normal romance book with a fluffy story, it has a mystery, and spice, and everything not so nice. 🫣 But it’s sooo good! I love Amanda’s writing, it’s not too cliche or poorly written. I’d tell you if it was poorly written, cause I’ve read a few like it, but Amanda just makes you feel all the emotions and literally just keeps you on your toes as a reader.

Now onto the freaking magnetic pull. If anyone’s able to write about two people with an unknown magnetic pull towards each other, it’s Amanda Bentley. I don’t know how to explain it better, but from Drift to this series, it’s just something Amanda’s so good at.

Kate & Zo have my heart. 🥺 I just wanted them to have their happy ending, even a happy ending after this happy ending. “Light me up, Zo. Set me on fire.” 🤭

The moon tattoo 🌙 and the badass. tattoo! ugh so cute.

Now… let’s talk about Char and Santi… 🫠 The way I’m already begging you for their book is insanity. I already love them. You quite literally had me at their first meeting. 🙏🏼

I had such a good time devouring this whole series! ❤️

I read this as an ARC. Huge thank you to Amanda Bentley for allowing me to be a part of this journey! ❤️

Light Me Up was the perfect wrap up to a series. All of my questions were answered but I was left wanting more in the best way. Amanda has such a way of writing the relationship dynamics and the characters experiences, I felt like I was right there with them from book 1! Kate and Zo will forever hold a special place in my heart. What started as a seemingly harmless and innocent one night stand because so much more!

Thank you Amanda for such a captivating story! But I’m just going to say….I need more Santi 😋

real rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

this series coming to an end is a bittersweet moment, and this series has quickly become one of my favorites. following the journeys of Kate and Lorenzo throughout these past few months have been nothing short of a beautiful journey. one that i recommend all people go on

starting off with the storyline, it does not change much from the past three books. however, since this is the last book in the series, all of the loose ends get tied up. it was nice to finally get some answers regarding Lorenzo and his back story; and i liked how nicely things tied up. without giving away too many spoilers, i was happy to see that Lorenzo was a good guy. although i love my mafia men and am always for the villain, it's nice to read about the "good guy" winning too. i also liked how Kate accepts Lorenzo, but is skeptical at first. i think it shows how she's not a doormat and she's not going to let a guy walk all over it. it was really appreciated, and such a nice thing to read about. however, one of the main reasons i did not give this book a higher rating is because of the lack of emotional connection. although Lorenzo admits to loving Kate, i don't feel like they actually developed a real emotional connection. throughout the books, i felt as though they only interacted when they were either: 1. having sex, 2. Kate was drilling Lorenzo about his life. i didn't feel like either one of them took the time to get to know each other (aside from a few moments they had). so it was shocking to me when Lorenzo admitted to being in love with Kate. i felt like it was, rushed? i would have liked to see a more realistic approach to it; for example: Lorenzo saying that he likes Kate and would like to see where a relationship takes them. the word love is so strong to use, so i feel like it shouldn't have been used in this term. maybe i was wrong though

discussing the characters, there isn't much to say since they are the same from the first three books. starting off with our lead girl, Kate, she was great. i liked seeing her character growth over the series and it was nice to see her become more confident within herself as a person. i think that she is such a wonderful person with such a big heart, however i always can relate to her and her noseyness. i think many of us can. she was a badass, and i liked seeing her overcome many of her different fears. i hope that if the author continues this universe, that we see more of Kate in some form. switching to our lead man, Lorenzo, it was nice to see the truth about him. i think it was prolonged a lot... and made the readers take a lot of guesses as to what the secret was. so with this being said, it was nice to find out the truth (and it not be a bad thing). i think Lorenzo is a great guy with a big heart, and i think he was just dealt a shitty hand in life. however, i like to see him doing the right things in life and not following in other's footsteps. Lorenzo is another one i'd love to see in the future. but it's not Lorenzo without Santi, which is whom we'll discuss next. Santi was a cool character, and i loved the mystery behind him as well. he was a decent part of this book, and i like that we get to know more about him, as well. it's cool that Santi is so close to Lorenzo, and they've formed their own "brotherhood" type of thing. it's sweet to read about, especially given their pasts. but what i liked about Santi was that he was rough around the edges, but kept Lorenzo's head on straight. throughout the book, we see him constantly remind Lorenzo of what they need to do (which is focus on their mission). i'd love to read about Santi more, especially with his relationship towards Char. which leads me to my next person, Char. she was such a phenomenal character throughout this series. she really stuck by Kate's side throughout everything, and was always there to pick up the pieces when life was falling apart for her. i think everyone should have a friend like Char because she was really a real one through this whole thing.

this next paragraph will contain spoilers, regarding the ending of the book / series. read this paragraph at your own risk, but you have been warned.

alright so the ending was a little, wild. i don't know how else to describe it other then it being insane. first off, i never would have suspected that Lorenzo and Santi were working for the FBI to help take down their families (more their fathers) drug rings. it was such a plot twist, and not one that i was expecting. nonetheless, it was a great plot twist, and added for a good storyline. like i said, many authors make their male main characters the villain; so it's nice to read about the "good guy". i think the mystery around Lorenzo and Santi this entire series was a great element the author added. and i condone her for doing well. now, regarding Kate getting kidnapped due to her connection with Lorenzo (and her noseyness), that was insane. the scene where she is snooping and gets kidnapped, along with her being slightly tortured was one that i felt was straight out of a wattpad scene. not that im complaining, but that's what it reminded me of. i think it could have been done slightly different -- but to each their own. it was still enjoyable. now, let's discuss the conversation that Lorenzo and Kate have. Lorenzo being honest with Kate and telling her the truth was good to read about. i think that after everything Kate had been through with Lorenzo, she deserved the truth from him. and i give her props for not taking him back right away. instead, she heard him out and thought about it before making a final decision. i liked that she reflected a real person in a time like that. also the moon tattoo that Lorenzo got is a great touch, nice tie for this book from the last one

overall, i think this was a great book. i believe that the lack of emotional communication and relationship the main characters have is my main reason for my lower star rating. however, this has been a wonderful series and im happy to have been an ARC reader throughout the whole thing. this author is phenomenal, and im so excited to read more of her work in the future

🧨 Saying bye to Zo and Kate is like saying bye to a piece of my soul. The Festive Fun series will forever be a favorite of mine. These may be short, but they have a long-lasting impact. I learned so much about myself and what I want/need in life, myself and a partner. I started this series in December because I saw that the MC tied up the FMC with Christmas lights. If you would’ve told me then that this series would genuinely have an impact on my life, I would’ve laughed.

🧨 We start with Zo’s POV which had me SQUEALING. Seeing them hurt and reading what was going through their heads was debilitating. I wanted to beat Zo’s ass for Kate, but also lick Zo’s tears and make everything better. Don’t get me wrong, I am strictly dickly, but I am in lesbian with Kate. And Charlotte? UGH I would take a bullet for her. Zo has his claws sunk so deep into me that I will never be able to escape him without it ripping me to shreds. I didn’t know it was possible to love him more than I already did, but I was wrong. I want to be his moon and everything else his turtle heart needs. The things I want this man to do to me would make satan blush.
🧨 This was the perfect conclusion for this series. You are kept on your toes throughout the entirety, finally getting answers to your questions from the last three books. To say I was surprised by what happened would be an understatement. I had emotional whiplash from everything I was feeling while reading this. My stomach and heart were constantly doing flips, about to come up my throat or fall out of my butt.
🧨 There wasn’t a lot of spice in this, but when there was, I was panting. For being such short books, they really do have the perfect balance of plot and smut. Saying adios to these characters created cracks in my heart that only Zo himself could fill. Zo and Kate will forever be two of my favorite book characters. Now we patiently wait for more of charlotte and Santi.. @amandabentleybooks
I’ve thrown in some of my notes just to persuade you a little more 😉

ARC REVIEW

Let me tell you this book left me flabbergasted! I got plot twists thrown my way left and right and I was so shocked but somehow all made so much sense! I am honestly so happy with how the book ended!
I must say that I am sad to see this series come to an end, I have been here for the whole journey and I loved it, so it's kind of heartbreaking to say goodbye. But let's not say goodbye but more of a see you later.
I feel in love with Zo and Kate's story from book one and I love they got the ending they deserve!
I do have to say Kate did annoy me a little and all the problems would have been solved if she just listened to Lorenzo but I can't say I wouldn't have done the same and tried to find answers myself.
This whole series is laced with crack i kid you not cuz once you read a part of it you just want more and more and now I'm left with no more dosis haha just cold turkey.
I seriously loved this book! the tension, the drama, the suspense, the spice, just all of it was great! I honestly can't wait to see what else Amanda writes. I honestly think a love story between Santi and Char could be on the way and if not I would like to see it happen :)
seriously loved it

This is the first novella series I've read and it was a fun ride. I really liked the buildup of waiting to see what was coming in the next installment. That being said, this is the conclusion, and we finally get the answers we've been waiting for! Not the answers I was expecting… Kind of the opposite of what I was expecting.

Lorenzo has always come across as a bit of a red flag (honestly, my fave) and now we know why. We still get to see Kate grow into herself, confront what she thinks she knows, and reconcile that with the actual truth of the situation. It felt a little quick, but the pacing is consistent with the other books in the series. You're not left, wondering about the answers, just wishing the story was longer...and hoping for more Char and Santi.

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by The Animals
"I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. Oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood."
- I feel like this could be the series theme song! Plus, it's giving Jim Morrison/The Doors vibes so I love it based on that alone.

Fuck, okay I'm ready!

I was so happy t hear 👂 we got a new book coming but also sad because it mean a to say goodbye to Lorenzo and Kate. Light me up is the 4 book in the Holiday Hookup series, the last book on the series and with this we get all the answers we need, who was really Lorenzo, and what was he hiding? So much drama in this little one, so much truth to be discovered.

Thank you Amanda for the gift of this book, really enjoy this even though is a bittersweet ending as I don’t like goodbyes. 💕✨💕

The level of stress I got was worth it, Amanda delivered a Good story pack with all the delicious stuff we like in a story, spice, dark romance with a bit of fluffy romance. ✨💕. If you haven’t read this series what are you waiting for? Amanda is definitely a writer to keep in mind. This book is coming out this week, start this series as soon as possible, you won’t be disappointed ✨💕⭐️💭

I was so ready for the next book in the series! The magnetism they have towards each other, even in the midst of the roughness they are going through, they can’t stop thinking about each other. Lorenzo’s adamant want and need to keep Kate safe even when they are not talking is fucking sweet. He knows he has messed up but even so he wants to protect her till he can get back in her good gracious. The way he calls her his princess😩😍, even when he references her when they aren’t speaking. They way both have like a sixth sense and know when the other is close or a gut feeling not to mention them to someone is crazy good! Ugh when they finally have the convo when Kate is saved and he tells her everything and they both cry. It was beautifully heart breaking😩😭. Omg he got a tattoo to remember her by when they weren’t talking🥹. So glad their story ended happily ever after, and though I’m bummed the series is over I loved every second of it! Such an easy read and I’m gonna miss them!

!ARC REVIEW!

Well, Kate & Zo’s story has come to a close, and I am feeling every single emotion.

This fourth & final novella was the perfect ending to this beautiful story. The message that Amanda was sending was delivered spot on, in more ways than one.

Kate & Zo we’re portrayed perfectly, and I couldn’t imagine a better way to carry out their story. The way that he cares for her is very evident from the beginning and seeing how they handle those emotions during the process is phenomenal.

I absolutely adore them, and am so happy with their ending. I fell head over heels for them in Novella #1 (The Holiday Hookup) and i seemingly couldn’t get enough of them.

This was well worth the anticipated wait and countless “I can’t wait“ comments online.

5 stars, as always. And congratulations Amanda, you did it again

✨️ARC Review✨️

Wow. What a thrilling end for these characters. Kate and Lorenzo have been through A LOT in the course of these four novellas, and looking back, I don't think I was even slightly prepared for the twists that come in book four.

Everything suddenly *clicks* into place with this book. Kate gets all the answers she has been searching for and we finally figure out what the fuck is up with Lorenzo!! (I knew I was right... he's really not really a villain!)

I think the execution of the reveal was fantastic... it was time for everything to be revealed finally and without spoiling it for others, it needed to be BIG like it was for everything to make sense.

Overall, I think with finally having all the answers I can say that this is a 5⭐️ read!

Now Amanda... Char and Santi next? 🤔🙏

Novella #4 did not disappoint! Everything came to a head in this final novella. Answers were given, I was on my toes from the suspense and loved the spice!
****SPOILERS BELOW*****
I always knew there was so much more to Lorenzo than we were seeing, I had full faith that he was a good guy! Lorenzo was the best part of this series. I had suspicions very early on that Lorenzo was either a cop or working with the cops, so the plot twist wasn't that shocking for me. I do think it went kind of zero to sixty near the end though.
I loved seeing Kate and Lorenzo develop, and while I think Kate has definitely grown into herself in this series, I hope she calms down a bit and learns to trust a bit more.

I'm eager to read more by Amanda and feel lucky that she has trusted me to beta and ARC read her books.

P.S: I agree with the other reviews, give me some more Santi!

I cant believe this is the end of Kate and Lorenzos story 💔

This one is probably my favorite out of all the books. We finally got to know the real Lorenzo. There was a lot of twist that had me in complete shock. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I started reading and it took a turn that was unexpected but had me liking Zo a lot more.

Kate had me frustrated most of the book ngl. I understand she's a very curious person but sometimes its ok to mind your business sometimes.

I LOVED how the author was so attentive to details. There was a couple of stuff that happened in the previous books that got mentioned and explained in this one. It was stuff that I completely forgot about that I didn't think were important till now. Really made me enjoy the story more.

Perfect ending to their story! I hope we also get a book on santi and char!

Light Me Up by Amanda Bentley

Omg so not what I was expecting but super explosive. You guys we are down to the conclusion of Lorenzo and Kate. We start right where the last book left us which was at the pool party where Kate and Char have made some pretty incriminating discoveries. I was extremely happy with the fact that we finally got to actually get Lorenzo’s side and this was more dual POV which I absolutely loved. Oh boy we find out a lot of stuff that we were not expecting. I was thinking something totally different in my head just like Kate so when it all unravels I was super surprised. I loved that Lorenzo had Santi with him and at his side. I really wish Rowan and Marco had gotten a bit more but I guess as long as Santi and Lorenzo are free then that works. I truly loved this adventure we took with Kate and Lorenzo and I would definitely recommend.

We finallllly get the answers we’ve been waiting for. We find out the reasons behind Zo’s behavior this whole time and turns out Zo isn’t as much of a red flag as we originally thought.

I thought Kate was fairly solid in this one. In the others I’ve found her a little annoying because I just wanted to knock some sense into her.

This series isn’t for everyone as you don’t get many answers until this final book as you’re meant to be kept in the dark like Kate is kept in the dark. However, they’re quick easy palette cleansers.

Pairing: MF

Tropes & Highlights:
- Novella series
- Romantic suspense
- Opposites attract

I enjoyed the overall storyline throughout these novellas however this one felt rushed to get to the conclusion. I have been anxiously awaiting the answers to all my questions about Lorenzo and loved the answers but I think it could have been better executed. It's possible that reading all 4 stories at once may make them seem more cohesive but reading each as they came out made it very choppy and disconnected. I am not usually a fan of novellas but thought the idea of a novella series might strike me differently. I did not dislike them by any means and would recommend them as a quick and entertaining read.

Holy Guacamole! I did not see that ending coming for Kate and Zo! I was so mad for Zo, right along with Kate and Char, for all the stress he’s caused. I’m so happy Zo finally had a chance to explain himself and clear things up. Kate is super sassy and her badassery in this book has no bounds! I’m still in shock on how things played out.. Lorenzo definitely made me love his character more, the tattoo he got 🥹, the love he always had for Kate, and standing up to his dad, yay Zo!! I’m definitely interested to see if anything happens between Santi and Char now 🤔

I had the privilege of receiving an ARC for the conclusion of this series! Kate and Lorenzo have been on quite the journey. Every time I thought I knew why Lorenzo was being so secretive, another bombshell would drop. I am so excited to say that the means justify the ends. He was doing everything to protect her in his own way. Kate being nosey backfires on her but she is a badass and proves it. I’m very happy that they found their way to a happily ever after!

This book was so bitter sweet for me to read because I am still not ready to let go of Kate & Zo’s story 🖤

Light Me Up picks up right where Sh*t Out of Luck ends and it did not disappoint. We finally get answers to so many questions. With those answers we also get twists I wasn’t expecting! My heart felt heavy for characters and I down right devoured this book.

This book touched on a heavier subject so be sure to check TW/CW & I like that it brings light to this subject.

Thank you to Amanda Bentley for the ARC!

I’ve been along for the ride since last December and I am so sad that Kate and Zo’s story has come to an end. Light Me Up is the action packed 4th and final installment in the Festive Fun series and Amanda did a wonderful job wrapping up all the loose ends and answering all my burning questions.

Overall this installment was a fun, fast paced read 😍

I sure hope we see more of Char and Santi (hint hint nudge nudge)

I really liked the last installment of the series! Got my ARC and wanted to skip out on all of my responsibilities. Amanda really pumped up the plot even more on this one, I was right there along with Kate wanting to get all the answers. And we did! It was very nice to have short holiday novellas, but it's also sad we didn't get some more time with the characters. Also, the dedication was a phenomenal reminder that we don't really need anyone else and can be total badasses if we want to.

Light Me Up by Amanda Bentley is the fourth and final book in the Festive Fun series.

This novella wraps up the story of Kate and Lorenzo. I loved how the author wrapped up all the mystery from the previous books and included a wicked twist.

This novella is told from both Kate and Lorenzo’s POV, does not end on a cliffhanger and is not a stand alone. You will need to read the previous books before this one.

This couple has some very spicy moments. I would recommend this book.

Such a great finish to this novella series!! It was action packed, our two lovers were broken apart and they got such a good ending- especially Zo🥹 Not everything was as it seemed and I loved how he encouraged kate to not need anyone:) definitely sad to see this series end but I enjoyed the entire ride!! Now I want a tattoo like Kate’s….

Picking up where book 3 ended we see the effects on both Zo and Kate. I dont want to spoil what happens but our girl Kate has to further investigate what's happening with Zos friends and family. We're given some huge information can Zo explain his way out of this mess?!
I thouroughly enjoyed this series and can't wait to read it all again. Zo steals your heart and Kate does too. I loved it!!!

Amanda Bentley saved the best for last! She definitely stepped up her game and gave a firecracker for the finale. We get the real Zo and Kate continues to grow. Long gone is the uptight, whiny girl from The Holiday Hookup. We finally get all the answers, but you kinda wish you didn’t so there would be another novella. I’m definitely feeling vibes for a Char and Santi spinoff…

This was the conclusion we needed. All of the angst, the worry (on my part lol) wrapped up in a way that left me satisfied. It’s not what I foresaw or even considered and I absolutely loved that I couldn’t predict what would happen.

I will forever stan Char and Santi and I’m a little jealous that now that the series is complete, someone can binge read the whole story 😂

An interesting end

In this climatic closing chapter of the Katie/Zo books, I found I was very happy with how everything wrapped up. Not as much spice as the first three books, but that's ok. The book covers a lot of heavy topics, so take a peak at that too in case you have triggers.
