Nantucket Sunset #7

A Nantucket Season

Rate this book
The Copperfield Artist Residency reopens for a spectacular season -- welcoming artists, musicians, and writers from all over the country for a summer that will change their lives forever.
Ella Copperfield bit off more than she can chew this summer. There's the Nantucket Music Festival, the reopening of the artist residency, and her marriage to Will -- all in a matter of weeks.
And then, Aurora Bills arrives to the residency and flips everyone's world upside down.
Aurora is thirty-five years old, relatively homeless, and immensely talented. For years, she was the single caregiver for her mother, who suffered from schizophrenia up until her recent death. Now, Aurora is aimless and terrified of her mother's diagnosis -- one she's not sure she can escape.
As Aurora dives into her music and painting at The Copperfield House, her mind plays horrible tricks on her, and she begins to think the Copperfield Family and the handsome fisherman who caught her eye are out to get her.
But the Copperfield Family has seen their fair share of turmoil and heartache. As the summer season escalates, they rally around Aurora, offering assistance and love in a cruel and lonely world. Ella and Will have their happily ever after; and The Copperfield House is off to the races for a remarkable next era of artistic promise and hope.
Dive into book seven of this women's fiction series set on the Island of Nantucket. It's a glorious world of beautiful beaches, frothing waves, cobblestone streets, and a beloved cast of characters. The series tells the story of the Copperfield Family, their return to Nantucket Island, and their healing after decades of pain and loneliness. Together, they can be better than ever before.

Nantucket Season is book 7 in the Nantucket Sunset series by Katie Winters and back with Copperfield family. 4.5 stars

While continuing to heal from the years of pain and loneliness they are re-establishing the Copperfield House artist residency again with new students. What happens next … heartache, loss, family, healing, friendships, wedding and more.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the 7th book I have read in this series. Book 8 will be available in Sept. Katie Winters is a prolific writer, completing books faster than I can read them. However, she is able to accomplish this in an amazing way. This book was one of the best in this series focusing on Ella, who we have kept up with throughout all the books in this series. It is obvious that I love any book that takes place on Nantucket Island, the home of my Coffin ancestors going back to the initial purchase of the island.

I didn’t love this one. I’m also really over the name errors in so many of the books. One page 101, Aurora is referred to as Aria. There’s not even a character named Aria in this book or in this series thus far. The first few times it happened in the other books of this series, I thought maybe it was an error because there are so many characters, but seriously, who is editing these books that it can go unnoticed so many times?

As far as the book itself, it didn’t mesh as well with the rest of the books. It wasn’t because of the specific context, per se, it just didn’t have the usual back-and-forth POVs. Ella was one of the two points of view here, which I thought was odd since Ella had a POV earlier.

And speaking of details that don’t add up, I am almost certain that a previous book referenced Ella and Will had a small wedding (and I remember thinking how unfortunate that Quintin wasn’t there). So this wedding story could have happened but if I’m remembering that correctly, they were still husband and wife before this.

Interested to see where it can go from here…

This book centers on the upcoming wedding of Ella and Will and the reopening of the Copperfield Artist Residency. Another major focus is the arrival of Aurora, an artist and singer/songwriter, who was the daughter of another resident at the Copperfield House years ago. It's really beautiful to see how the arts contribute to one's personal satisfaction and ability to participate in a wider world view. I was really surprised by the depth of Aurora's struggle with life and her fear of the future. It's not often an author chooses to talk about mental illness in an effective way. Despite sadness, there is still hope for struggling people. This was an unusual and eye-opening topic. I marvel at Katie Winters' depth of understanding for difficult situations.

You’re going to need lots of tissues with this one! Katie Winters has once again gifted us with an incredible read with all the feels. The storyline is totally amazing; the characters simply incredible; the plot has so many different twists that it’s really hard to keep up at sometimes. Best of all: there’s incredible hope and love coming to life in the HEA. You must read this book—it’s absolutely amazing! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally mesmerized by it.) ❤️❤️

What a great story! With the main focus being Ella and Will and their upcoming wedding - their story and where they will go once their kids are in school full time. Having the back story of Aurora and her mother Delilah (from years ago) - was so interesting and having the mental health side story was great. I appreciated the discussion about psychosis and medications and how people can be ok even having a health issue. I can't wait to read more about Aurora and Brooks and see what she does - hopefully there will be more overlap with Ella.

A heartbreaking story of Aurora and her sad past. As she became a member of the artist residency her thoughts were conflicted and confusing. Even as her music and paintings were noticed and revered, her mental state reached a level for needing professional help. Thanks to a chance meeting with Brooks and his support, she was moving forward. The Copperfield residency was progressing and a beautiful wedding was the highlight for this family.

The Copperfield Family is spending time together. Parents Greta and Bernard are once again opening Copperfield House to aspiring artists. One of the artists, Aurora, actually has family history at the house.

Meanwhile daughter Ella, and music partner, Will plan their upcoming wedding. Meanwhile Aurora suffers a setback as she feels her artistic performances are threatened.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

A Season For Love and Change

I love that I met my friends on the first page of the book, made new friends on page a that followed, went to a wedding and watched a new low begin. Although there had been many problems for Greada, Quinton and their family the love they had for each other held them together. All ages will enjoy these books and I can not wait for the next one. Thank you Katie Winters.

Once again, Katie Winters writes about everyday experiences that are avoided and not spoken about. In this case, mental illness. It hit me hard because the character sensed what was happening because of her experience with her mother.

Great series

Just what every family
wished they could be. United, but different. Accepted and lived for who they are. Instrumental in the community as well.
