Hurt Me Right

Rate this book
Milly is sweet and kind, and lying in my ER, beaten and broken. At five foot nothing, she's so fragile, and it takes everything in me not to track down the asshole that did this and make him pay, but instead I focus on caring for her.

With everything she's been through, I should walk away. She deserves someone even-tempered and less controlling. But I can't let her go.

I refuse to let her go.

Note: This book has an intense, possessive man who will do anything (and I mean anything) to protect the woman he's determined to keep.

Kitty Synn explores the darker sides of romance, including kink, fetish, breeding, OTP, and more. Her possessive heroes aren't always good guys, but they kill for their women...literally.

And while you might find some love, and even adoration in these books, they are not always romantic.

What I really enjoyed most about this book was that it was so realistic. Milly's feelings and emotions were spot on for the character of an abused woman. She was emotionally, physically and mentally abused by her ex-boyfriend Josh. She was terrified of him. But she finally found the strength to leave him. Good on her. She had a caring and loyal friend in Krista. When Ash first saw Milly he was attracted to her. They got to know each other over several months. When Josh put Milly in the hospital Ash steps up and takes control over her well being. As scared as Milly was when Ash was extremely possessive she knew beyond a doubt he would never hurt her. As I read this, there were places the dialogue between Ash and Milly was adorable and put a smile on my face. When Milly was either reflecting about Josh and the fear she still harbored, I could only imagine how scared she was. When Ash and Milly were intimate it felt so genuine, gentle and loving. An excellent story of the life of an abused woman getting out of that situation. A must read. You will not be disappointed.

Ash makes Doctors look sexy and I am someone who stays away from that profession with a vengeance. We have very few fictional heroes that actually make it look good.

The spicy scenes make temperatures as high as an oven’s. I had to fan myself as I read. The trust that Milly and Ash develop is a factor that matters to me as a reader. I don’t know how to categorize the story into adjectives. The themes and the situations do not let me make it light-hearted but their relationship melts my soul into a gooey mush.

This was a somewhat difficult book to get into as it is rife with domestic violence right from the get go. Millie is a barista where Dr. Williams gets his morning coffee and they have a friendly, flirty morning ritual. When she is brought into Emergency at his hospital after being severely beaten he not only treats her but he unilaterally determines he will be her protector, and she will be his, going forward. It’s hard for the reader to really like him initially as he appears to be not just a customer but maybe control freak and a bit of a stalker in his own right. He is also ridiculously jealous, even of his own best friends! Millie is in a world of hurt, both physically and mentally, and she is naturally a little wary of Ash’s dominant nature. Her life has been one bad relationship after another, can she survive another? When Ash’s “dom” comes out in the form of spanking her, even though violence of any kind traumatizes her, her angst is heightened. However, Ash does everything in is power to help Millie regain her self-respect and independence in all his actions. Their relationship does feature a lot of spankings and some very erotically charged sex. The story really begins with violence and ultimately ends with violence, making it a hard story to read, but even harder to put down. Very emotionally gripping! 5 Stars

Millie and Ash are friends he's and ER doctor older and wealthy he spends allot of time were Millie works hoping to get her attention. Millie is keeping secrets of abuse ones that have been going on since she was 15 her relationship with her boyfriend is ugly and she's finally had enough but one mistake could be fatal. Ash never expected that his Millie was being abused if he had known he would have finished her ex but now she's in his ER and soon hill have her in his home were he can protect her. Has Millie left one abuser for another or is Ash's protecting and control only to keep her safe. This book has some dark themes with the abuse of Millie by her ex Josh. There is also murder and intense sexual scene's this is one of those books were the good guy has his own issues but he's still redeemable and the lines get blured between what is healthy in a relationship and what is over the top its still a good read but intense.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via HiddenGems and this is my honest review.

Milly is in an abusive relationship and doesn't know how to get out. She feels trapped and thinks about getting out. Josh, her boyfriend since she was 15 always warned her she'd be nothing without him and if she ever tried to leave it wouldn't be in her best interest.

Dr. Ashby Williams, sees Milly daily at the coffee shop he goes to and he likes what he sees. However, he knows she's off limits because she's involved with someone and she's too young for him. But that won't stop him from flirting with the pretty barrista.

When Milly finds herself in a harrowing situation with no end in sight, Dr. Ashby decides to take matters into his own hands to protect Milly, so he tells himself, but deep down he knows it's so much more.

This was an entertaining read that has themes of abuse, so if that's a trigger, be warned. The author presents a list of possible triggers at the beginning of the book so you can decide if this is right for you.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

Be warned this book has triggers that may make this a hard read for some. Milly has ended an abusive relationship with her boyfriend. when she goes back to the apartment to get some of her things he was lying in wait. Ash is the doctor that is tasked with her care, and he does that and so much more. This story is a steamy short read that will have you glued to the pages and cheering for Milly and Ash.

The romance between Milly and Ash is intense and sometimes moderately dark. Milly has just ran from her abusive ex and when she returns home for some of her things, she is beaten and ends up in the hospital. Ash has been frequenting the coffee shop Milly works at and when he finds her in the ER he knows he has to take care of her. As Milly learns to trust Ash he helps her to work on her fears and bring down some of her walls. Overall it was an emotional book that deals with intense relationships, domestic abuse and stalking. It is a good book for people who like a bit of darkness in their romances!

Holy cow i can't believe i spent money on this.

The FMC in this book has left an abusive ex boy friend only to be taken by the hot dr. That always comes to her work for coffee.

After leaving one abusive relationship she jumps into another and hardly questions it.

This book made me feel like the author started with one story line and totally flipped the MMCs personality to be darker and more controling. If that's the case just have a cohesive story line.

This is such a sweet, dark love story. It’s a story of Milly’s physical abuse and the doctor who stepped in to save her. I loved Ash so much! I was on the edge of my seat all the way through. Milly is a survivor and Ash was her hero. I enjoyed this fast paced, well written book. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*

What a wild ride! This is an intense dark romance and I loved every minute. Although Ash is a possessive, OTT hero, his love for Milly shines through and he would do anything to keep her safe. There are some chilling moments in the story that may cause serious heart palpitations. So be warned!

I didn't like it. Maybe because it wasn't fantasy like the rest of her books but I didn't like the MC. They both keep secrets and are too traumatized to be in this kind of a relationship. I gave it a shot, but it's not for me.
