Alex Wright has always considered himself a lucky man. It was that luck that had led him to the PGHM, and to the coolest job in the world, combining mountain rescue and computer science.
His luck seems to have run out, however, when he gets assigned to the mayor’s office to investigate some IT trouble. Which means spending time with Yvette Legrand, the mayor’s chief-of-staff, and the biggest ball-breaker Alex has ever met.
Yvette is ambitious and very, very good at her job. In fact, her job is her life, and she won’t allow anyone to threaten it. She’s also not going to sit by while a handsome rescue specialist pulls apart everything she’s worked so hard to build—no matter how blue his eyes are, or how striking he looks in a suit.
When IT trouble becomes Trouble with a capital T, Alex and Yvette will have to figure out where their loyalties lie, and work together to find a way forward.
Action, adventure, romance … in the heart of the Alps. Guaranteed HEA.
Note to readers: this sexy adventure romance book is intended for adult readers and contains adult language and situations. Although it is the 8th book in the Mont Blanc Rescue series, each book can be read as a standalone romance.
Another great book to the series! This is Alex and Yvette's story. The author does a terrific job developing the story and pulled me in with all the drama, action and suspense along with the hot and steamy chemistry. The story moves fluidly and is a fantastic read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Ice princess or woman with a heart the size of Mont Blanc?
Yvette is very driven and has exacting standards which has resulted in people labelling her the Ice Princess, but as Alex finds out, she has a huge heart and never stops providing for others... frequently at her own expense. Even at the height of danger her first thoughts are for others, their safety and their mental well-being. She may have high standards but she holds herself to an even higher standard! I love that she knocks Alex on his ass, he may not be looking for love but it finds him anyway! I love this series and look forward to Ry's book next. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
This is another well written book that has the perfect mix of drama suspense and romance
Yvette Legrand is brilliant at her job as the mayor chief of staff but been so good means that many people call he names the main one been ice princess because she never shows any emotion. When she discovers confidential documents have been taken off the server she is determined to get to the bottom of it and isn't too happy when the mayor brings in an outsider to help. Axel Wright is not only a member of Mont Blanc mountain Rescue but he is also their computer specialist and he is sent to help even if he isn't sure why. Soon He and Yvette are striking sparks off one another Spark that will soon turn into a attraction they can't deny Can they solve what is happening and can they have a future You will have to read to see
Alex Wright walks into the Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne offices and sees everyone gathered around a desk covered in cupcakes...his desk. His boss Beau doesn't seem to be too happy that he is there since he was supposed to be reporting to Chamonix’s mayor's office this morning, but he had received a call from the mayor's chief of staff to meet them for lunch for their briefing.
He is still waiting to find out why the mayor's office needs his computer skills as they have people on their own staff. He loved his job with its combination of outdoors and computers, but his boss Beau had volunteered him for an undisclosed IT problem. Ry laughingly tells him to have fun working with their ball-buster chief of staff.
He had come to France right after college for a year full of skiing, but after seeing a PGHM rescue he knew he had found his calling and immediately signed up even though it took him away from his family in England and didn't speak French.
Yvette Legrand had researched Alex Wright's credentials before their meeting, but she was not expecting the gorgeous 6'3" man ushered by the Maitre d to their private dining room. Someone had been copying confidential files from their computers and everyone in the mayor's office was suspect.
She had worked hard for her position as Chief of Staff of Chamonix’s mayor's office and knew what was said behind her back. But after her father's death, her mother struggled to support her and her sister and she was determined to not go through that again and mentored gifted girls who came from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Another great read from JR Pace! This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book is a standalone novel with its own HEA, but I would suggest that you read the complete series as the secondary characters are recurring.
This series revolves around the men (and women) of the Mont Blanc Rescue Team. As with the previous books in the series, there is pending danger and I had almost thought there wouldn't be a mountain rescue due to Alex's IT experience but JR Pace found the perfect way to work in Alex's expertise in the field.
This book is action-packed and full of danger, intrigue and suspense. Alex has his hands full trying to get through all of Yvette's protective layers of distrust, but once he does it gets smoking hot. I had to laugh at just how not French Alex is...won't give it away, but you will know when you read it.
If you haven't read JR Pace I highly recommend all of her books! I have never been to France or even near a pair of skis, but her books bring the French Alps to life and you will fall in love with her characters.
Alex Wright loves his job, the best of both worlds for him, combining mountain rescue and computer science. Then he gets loaned out by his boss, Commandant Beau Fontaine, to the mayor’s office to assist with an undisclosed IT problem, which made no sense to Alex when the mayor had an entire IT team available to him.
Yvette Legrand, Mayor Pierre Chevalier’s chief-of-staff, and was excellent at her job. She dressed in clothing that would highlight her power and she was tall enough to look directly into the eyes of the men around her, giving her the reputation of being cool under pressure and always in control. But the week before, she discovered that someone had been copying confidential major construction proposal files that should never have left their secure server and were now in some unknown person’s hands. So the mayor called in outside help. Yvette was angry about that, not wanting an outsider to dig through their private data to find any weaknesses. She trusted her team fully, so she knew it was none of them who had done this. But as cover for Alex being there with her, they had to pretend to be boyfriend/girlfriend. And they had to date, right? He taught her to ski, rescued another beginner who had fallen through the ice, and he and Yvette got closer and closer. Both saw that each of them put others first and wanted to help any way they could. So as they tried to catch the IT thief, they started to care deeply for each other. Would they find out who the culprit is? Would Alex be able to protect Yvette when the danger ramps up? Would they begin to fall for each other for real? Or would Yvette worry that a long-term relationship would not work for them?
This was such an easy book to fall in love with. Just watching the two main characters interact with each other and their friends was such a joy. Grab your copy and see how the future plays out for them.
Exciting suspense and opposites attraction Mountain Security (Mont Blanc Rescue Book 8) by J.R. Pace is the first book by this author that I have read and even though I started at the end of the series, I didn't feel lost at all. Mountain Security is completely stand alone as the story involves Alex and Yvette almost exclusively. While the team Alex works for provides back up and assistance, Alex and Yvette are the stars of their own story. I enjoyed this book for the exciting suspense on top of the growing attraction between Alex and Yvette. If it weren't for the forced working collaboration, Yvette likely would have ignored her feelings and attraction altogether! A true workaholic. However, Alex's influence has her taking time to enjoy life and trying new adventures. It was wonderful as she comes out of her shell and not only takes a chance trying new things, but letting her heart have a say too. I also enjoyed this book simply for the beautiful setting. The author did a wonderful job of putting a picture in my mind of what the town, as well as the mountainous region, would look like. Spectacular views well imagined! Overall, the threat becomes all too real and targeted solely on Yvette. Their work collaboration shifts from finding to protecting and saving. In the midst of all the danger, Alex and Yvette discover their love for one another and once the snow settles, the HEA is in full force and looking fantastic. I read an ARC of this book via Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
I have worked in IT for over 25 years and have never worked with an IT guy like Alex. He was a terrific male lead as he was not just defined or thwarted by his IT brilliance. I did enjoy the IT part of the investigation even it was fairly simply, it was just nice to see the geek get his day. As I said, he was more than a smart IT guy, he was also a rescue specialist and helped save multiple people through the story. He had no qualms about rushing into danger to save someone in need.
Yvette turned the tables on me from my initial impressions to who she really was. She started off with fretting about her power suite and heels and while a younger me can relate it sometimes makes you seem cold. In fact, she was accused of being cold. After reading for a while, he cold demeanor cracked as she worked with her mentee and as she appreciated the little things Alex did for her.
The mystery itself was a little light but still action packed with additional action coming from Alex's rescue heroics. Overall, it made for a good story and will definitely send me in search of other books in this series. The characters won the day in this book not just because we got an HEA but because the characters not the action kept me reading. I may have found another author to add to my list.

There were some fantastic elements here. I liked the characters and liked that Yvette made time for mentoring. Many of the scenes were well written. Despite this, I felt a little underwhelmed by the time I was done the book. The first third seemed to emphasize Yvette and Alex's relationship development over trying to figure out the problem for which Alex's assistance was requested. And honestly, as the book went on, he was more like her bodyguard than IT genius mystery solver. What popped to mind towards the end of the book was the Big Bang Theory episode where Amy watches Raiders of the Ark for the first time and comments that the film would've turned out the same if Indy weren't in it. Now, this isn't exactly the same for the book (Yvette may have ended up dead without Alex the hero), but he didn't really do anything that she wouldn't have eventually done to catch the culprit. One last thing: I feel there was a missed opportunity in that early in the book, Yvette and Alex go to a self-defense class that she takes with the other people in the mentoring program. I wish the author had written a certain late-in-the-book scene to include her using what she had learned to try and defend herself, even if she still ended up overpowered.

This is a romantic suspense standalone in an interlinked series. I have not read any of the previous books and kept up with the story easily. This book concentrates on Alex and Yvette.
As I have not read any other books in the series, I was confused about the PGHM, they were mountain rescue then police, then guards - more information would have been helpful but I went and did some of my own research and they seem to be all of the above and possibly more.
Yvette is a workaholic, very good and dedicated to her job. Alex is a little more relaxed but still dedicated to his job. There is an instant attraction between the two and their relationship grows fairly quickly, mostly due to the situations they are put in.
There's quite a bit of suspense as they try and work out what is going on and who might be involved. We also get to see Alex in action saving people on the mountain; it was interesting to see more than one side to his job.
I had a feeling who might be involved but it was still a little surprise as to how and why, and then all the other information that comes out.
It was a great read, between the suspense and the steamy romance, it kept me turning pages to the end.
Alex Wright thinks he was lucky to get a job with the PGHM that combines his love of the outdoors with his computer ability. He's not happy at first to have been assigned to the mayor's office to investigate some IT problems since it means he'd have to work with Yvette Legrand who has a tough reputation. Yvette isn't going to let anything threaten her job and the people there, but Alex soon sees a softer side. And as they work together a relationship builds between Alex and Yvette. Can they get to the bottom of things and have a life together?
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and this is my honest, unbiased review. I've really enjoyed this series from the start and this book is a prime example of why. It's well-written with well-developed characters and a well-thought-out, fast-paced plot. This is a wonderful and captivating story full of action, intrigue, and suspense with romance and a happily ever after. I was drawn into this engaging read and kept hooked from beginning to end. I love JR's books and this is my favorite series. JR is a fantastic storyteller and she captures emotions throughout the story very well. You'll laugh and cry and find yourself on the edge of your seat as you read this fantastic tale. I'm looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest reading in order for the most enjoyment and benefit although each book could be read on its own.
When Alex is asked by his Commander to take an assignment that involves the mayor’s office, he isn’t too thrilled but his expertise in computers is needed. He is asked to find a leak and a security breach and is paired up with the mayor’s chief of staff, Yvette, who has a reputation of being an ice princess. Yvette is excellent at her job, she’s tough but fair and is worried about the breach and what it can mean for the next election. Pairing up with Alex has them looking at everyone as suspects and when it seems that Yvette is the primary target, Alex will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. A great read with suspense, twists and turns, steam and great characters. I loved Yvette, there was so much more to her than the exterior she puts out….kind, patient, honest, and strong. Alex sees beyond her exterior and knows there is more and wants to find out. I loved the no drama, no misunderstandings and how easily they fit together. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I have not read any other books in this series, but I will now. A lot of times, in a series, there is a note that basically says it is a stand-alone book and can be read without having read the others in the series. But often, the backstory is such that it cannot be read alone. I was very happy to read this book and it was true to the note – it can be read alone. Kudos to the author for ensuring that this book could be read as a stand-alone book. This was fast paced story with the intrigue and mystery coming in right from the start. It is full of suspense that builds with each page read. I loved the characters – Yvette and Alex – and their connection to each quickly became apparent as they worked together to solve the mystery. Nothing like a good read to steam up the pages of the book as Alex tries to figure out what is going on, who is involved and how he will keep Yvette safe. Very enjoyable.
Yes you absolutely can read this as a stand alone. Each book can be read and thoroughly enjoyed. For Kindle Unlimited Users grab and read the whole series. I like being surprised and Alex and Yvette surprised me! Each as an individual were strong, intelligent and so worthy of each other. Together as a couple - fantastic. I like learning and each time we go on a search and rescue mission, I learn. I hold my breath until there is a resolution. I did know who the ultimate baddies were, but there was still the first surprise before we meet the baddies, so that was another win. An enjoyable read with lots of steam for you steam lovers. It also delivered on humor, intrigue and suspense. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #MountainSecurity #MontBlanc #JRPace #hiddengems #kindleunlimited #booksprout
This is Alex and Yvette's love story in The Mont Blanc Rescue Series. Alex and Yvette need to work together to solve a threat against her boss that threatens the upcoming election. Alex being an IT guy is brought in to help assist with the mystery. I really liked the IT aspect of this story I love that the nerdy guy who is still very physically fit btw gets the girl and solves the mystery and brings the bad guy down and turns out to be really bada@@. These two were cute together, had tons of chemistry and had me rooting for them.
As a whole this series has everything you could want in an action romance. Action, adventure, suspense, mystery, fake dating, workplace romance, some angst and steaminess.

Rigid Yvette LeGrand Chamonix’ Mayor’s Chief of Staff formative years were rough, she had to work hard for everything and her reputation is capable but difficult these days. Though she wishes it wasn’t necessary when their team’s computers have issues the best option seems to be PGHM’s resident IT wizard, Alex Wright. It’s been forever since a guy excited Yvette’s girl parts but Alex has no problem with that task and she’s much prettier than he thought.
Alex starts his work and verifies the tampering and it becomes a question of who and why as Yvette states from the start the culprit can’t be on her team despite the circumstantial evidence, plus the bad brain seems to be a sept ahead of Alex. As Yvette and Alex get closer, the Mayor makes a misstep, a confession comes in and Yvette receives threats. Rating: 3stars
Alex is a Brit living in France. He visited while in college and knew he found his place. His security job combines the things he loves: the outdoors and computers. He has been assigned a job working with the mayor's office. This puzzles him, but he doesn't question his boss.
Yvette is the Chief of Staff for the mayor and loves her job. What she doesn't love is finding out that confidential files have been copied...and her team are suspect.
The mayor feels an outside investigation is best. Yvette doesn't agree. She also doesn't expect the consultant to be so gorgeous!
Alex is so instantly attracted to Yvette, who he recognizes as a strong and confident woman. When the two pretend to date to explain Alex's presence, they begin to grow closer. But will they keep things only professional?
Nice story, lots of intrigue and action to keep my interest.
I loved Mountain Security Book 8 of Mont Blanc Rescue. Yvette is known as the ice princess and now it’s Alex’s job to figure out what’s going on at the mayors office. Pretending to be in a relationship with Yvette is easy and Alex wants it to be real. Fieprst thoigh they need to keep Yvette safe from danger. Yvette is also panicking about her relationship with Alex, she doesn’t thing long term is a good idea. Can Alex convince her otherwise? This was a great storyline and I just loved the characters. It had action, suspense and a great loved story. This is a great series and I would definitely recommend this book.

Another great addition to the series. Alex works for the PGHM and is seconded to the Mayor’s office to help the Mayor’s chief-of-staff Yvette figure out who’s electronically stealing sensitive files. With her hard worked carer on the line Yvette is not going to let this IT guy do anything to derail all her hard work. However, when thing come to light and Yvette is in danger working together is the only way forward. With just the right amount of action, drama and steam, this suspense keeps you interested from beginning to end; included the characters you know from previous books what’s not to enjoy. Just a wee bit slow at the start hence the four stars.
I received a review reader’s copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another great book: This was a fabulous addition to the series and I really appreciate that each story is unique in its own way. Whilst this could be read as a standalone, there are interconnecting characters and it was lovely reconnecting with some old friends. I was once again drawn into the drama and intrigue and rather than just focusing on mountain rescue, this was more about the mystery of who was targeting the mayor's office. Alex and Yvette made a great couple and you could feel the chemistry and connection between these two. Now I can't wait to see what else this talented author comes up with! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
Yvette works for the mayor, finds out some electronic files have been taken, and gets introduced to Alex, the IT of the Rescue Team. A fake relationship to show why he is around her all the time, turns much stronger. The characters are fantastic, work in sync perfectly in the office and near danger. The storyline has drama, danger, twists, an affair, arson, almost being run over, learning to ski, ice water rescue and much more. So much action, steam, blackmail, and entertaining situations. Loved their chemistry, the mystery and the close-knit team. The ending was perfect and promising.

This is the eighth book in the Mont Blanc Rescue series. Each book stands well on its own but they are all connected. At first, Alex wasn't thrilled to be sent to help the mayors office with a major breach in their IT security but after meeting Yvette it doesn't seem so bad. Yvette is very passionate about the work she does in the mayors office. Alex has her wanting things she's never wanted before. Not only does Alex need to figure out who is stealing information but it also appears there is someone out to harm Yvette. Steamy, page turning, great addition to the series. Can't wait for the next book.

Plenty of action adventure and suspense in this one, oh and lots of hot romance too. Alex works for Mont Blanc security and is called in to help the local Mayors office where computer files have been stolen. The mayor’s chief of staff is Yvette, Alex is instantly attracted. But she is in danger, can he protect her? And solve the crime?
Loved this, loved the setting In beautiful Chamonix, the English hero, the hot romance and the sub characters from previous and hopefully future books
Fabulous read.

Tangled Hearts, Treacherous Peaks Alex isn’t thrilled about working with the mayor’s chief of staff—they don’t call her the Ice Queen for nothing. But maybe there’s more to Yvette than meets the eye. What’s really behind that icy exterior? As sparks fly between Alex and Yvette, the stakes get higher. The investigation Alex is on is far deadlier than anyone expects, and high in the mountains, danger lurks everywhere—but the deadliest threats don’t always come from the snow and rock. I enjoyed this romantic suspense—fast-paced, engaging, and full of both heart and tension. Fans of romance with a dash of adventure and peril will likely find themselves captivated by the story.
This is Book 8 of Mont Blanc Rescue starring Yvette Legrand and Alex Wright. Wow that was not at all who I thought was the bad guy. I loved this adventure with mystery love story. This book has it all from hunky heroes and a heroine that save the day, a brave pet dog, a mysterious threat, a little danger, some drama, and best of all the time these two have to find out they are right for each other and they have chemistry too.

J.R. Pace has given us another adventure filled story with plenty of suspense and romance a little humor and a cast of likable characters who are working together to solve the threat's against the mayor's office this is a nice addition to this series I like how this a family like community who work as a until from one book to another but each book is dedicated sole to one couple's journey toward their happy ever after.

Have read from the beginning of the series and while each book is fine as a stand-alone, I strongly recommend you read in order. Pace’s setting in the french alps is beautifully done as usual and transports you there. I love how Beau and Damon’s team have merged and the pot of unique and well-developed characters have expanded. Alex and Yvette’s story is full of action, intrigue, danger and espionage carried along with a sweet romance and HEA. This book did not disappoint and kept me hooked throughout!
I enjoyed this story of Alex, the tech whiz, and Yvette. There was action, great suspense, drama, and attraction between Alex and Yvette. I loved how Alex help Yvette learn to enjoy life and try new undertakings. The threat is real and solely targets Yvette and her job as IT at the mayor's office. Will Yvette and Alex catch the person who is behind the IT threats? I really enjoyed this story and the series as a whole.

This is an amazing series with each written as a standalone romance featuring the members of PGHM and Mont Blanc Rescue. Each book has romance, suspense and the author does a great job with breathtaking visuals of the scenery. In Mountain Security, Alex's job combines his two greatest enjoyments in life which are the outdoors, when needed, and computer security. Yvette has a high powered job as the Mayor's Chief of Staff. Both are strong characters and they work well together to solve the mystery and find their HEA. Highly recommend this series.
Another winner in the Mont Blanc rescue series. Even though it’s book 8, it’s a complete standalone. This story has nonstop action, suspense and drama. It also has plenty of steam as well! I loved Alex and Yvette together as both seemed totally relatable and likeable. Yvette was a strong woman which made it all the better! I would highly recommend this entire series! I received an ARC copy.
Another romantic suspense set in the mountains. Alex is both a mountain rescuer and an IT whizz. Yvette is the no nonsense aid to the Mayor. Both have very different backgrounds and experiences and on the surface seem very unsuited. Forced to work together they find common ground. A fast paced action packed book full of twists and turns. I received an early copy from the author and I am leaving a voluntary review.
