Hunter Thorn did the unthinkable.

He's fallen for the enemy. He may have told himself he did it to survive, but there's no denying the chemistry between him and Odin, even if they're still on uneven ground. When someone from his past returns, everything he thought he knew is thrown to the wind, and he's forced to finally come to grips with his feelings and make a decision.

Odin Snow captured the Huntsman and made him his.

But when Hunter goes missing, all of Odin's carefully laid plans are dashed. Was their time together truly long enough to bind Hunter to him, or was his Huntsman merely biding his time to escape? Trust doesn't come easily for the head of a Brumal mafia family, but in the end, Odin only has two choices. Trust Hunter and keep him. Or let those old suspicions bloom and lose him forever.

*Trigger Warnings: This is the third and final installment in the A Whisper in the Dark trilogy, a Dark MM Sci-Fi Mafia Romance, which features a super possessive mafia leader and the man from his past he's always wanted. There are dark themes in this book that aren't suitable for all readers, including but not limited to, dubcon, torture, drugs, violence, and explicit sexual scenes. HEA guaranteed.

I've enjoyed this series but it's definitely a lot sweeter than the other books I've read from this author. I kept waiting for some aggression / force etc. but it never really came, which especially surprised me because these characters are Brumal?! It was almost romantic and sweet.. not what I was expecting, but still a fun read.

I liked the conclusion to Hunter and Odin's romance, even though they were pretty laughable 'bad guys'! Honestly, these guys get tricked and outsmarted way too many times - it reminded me a little of Lake from the Foxglove Grove series and his himbo Imperial prince ways! No one had a clue what they were doing and everyone trusted the wrong people, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

There were a lot of loose ends though, and things that were never discussed between Hunter and Odin, particularly relating to the relationship between a Shout and their Whisper! I also want to know more about Wren but even though it was mentioned that he's getting his own book, I haven't seen anything about it, which is a little confusing!

Not my favourite from this author, but I did enjoy reading more in their multiverse and the character's were entertaining.

4.5 stars for the close of the trilogy. i have to say i didn't realize i needed this. i fall in love with chani's couples in every book of hers i read, but having the same relationship span multiple books was 🔥 while Odin and Hunter frustrated me a lot in the second book, i think it just added more flavor when they finally relent and admit what it is to them in this one. i was feral for it like i always am when the menace falls in love. like WHEN WILL IT BE MEEE?

**this review is an accumulation of my thoughts of the whole series bc i’m too lazy to separate them out**

how has odin been able to run the brumal when he and half his entourage are literal idiots! they are all so much dumber than a supposed fearsome gang that runs the planet should be. odin has terrible instincts!!! sometimes he is so obviously wrong, it makes my head dizzy. like when he couldn’t believe that isa was after hunter bc he wants odin all to himself. like the denial was so high…anyone who thought about it for half a second would be like yea dude, that’s obvious. second, he was always on about making sure hunter couldn’t be taken away from him. but then he’d do idiotic things like arrange a meeting with the emperor that isa would possibly show up to or at least know about bc he told odin he had the emperor in his pocket, and what would he do with hunter in the meantime??? lock him in the bedroom aka the safest place for hunter to be right??? bc there’s a high chance that isa knows odin will be away from hunter, he’d make sure hunter was locked down and extra safe right???? no, he’d let hunter roam his club with ONE guard, who has previously fucked up and gotten hunter in danger, who continues to also be an idiot in this situation too by stepping away from hunter, leaving him with a club manager who gets a phone call and then leaves hunter completely unguarded. like ???? and odin didn’t even THINK about the possibility of isa knowing about the meeting and not going. he literally thought to himself “there wasn’t anything odin could think of that would warrant isa missing out on this willingly.” umm maybe the chance to steal ur mans, for one????? like do u even think!!!! and hunter is stupid too bc he’s literally gotten himself into trouble THREE times by not just fucking staying where it’s safe. and hunter’s decision making skills are ass bc two of those three times had him following after people when his instincts were telling him something was wrong, something was off about the situation and he ignored it. like hunter doesn’t think anything thru, the dumbassery was driving me nuts!!! even odin’s entourage was incompetent half the time….they get tricked constantly….they’re always like 2 steps behind it seems….odin is the worst judge of character, constantly mistaken about people’s motives…like how have y’all survived this far???

plus sooo many things weren’t ever discussed. hunter never told odin why he really missed that day in the woods. like don’t you think it would be useful information for him to know that you can’t kill a shout if ur bleeding!?? you don’t tell him this, even when things ramp up with isa and you both plan to kill him. are u dumb??? that could’ve fucked up the entire plan!! plus supposedly hunter did all this research about whispers, but never shares any of it with odin. odin knows hunter knows way more than him, but he never makes time to get more info about whispers that could help them fight isa or help protect hunter??? makes no sense. why tf was leo grimes mentioned so many fucking times if he wasn’t important and we were never gonna figure out what he thought hunter stole??? in the final fight, isa apparently wasn’t aware tapping into odin’s power was something hunter was capable of, except that’s exactly how he found out hunter was a whisper in the first place!!! bc hunter tapped into odin’s power right in front of him…..like ???? and what happened to wren’s secret plans?? we never get to find out.

so, i spent the entire third book being irritated as all fuck pretty much. the ending left so many questions and loose ends, and all in all just wasn’t a satisfying wrap up. also, i read this series in the omnibus with the bonus content, which the bonus content is pretty much ass, sorry, but like wtf are those interviews😭 unnecessary that’s what.

hunter and odin as a couple….they were actually lowkey romantic in the first book, at least wayyyy tamer than i thought it was gonna be, but ig that makes sense since this was chani’s first dark romance attempt. there is like no lube in these books and i can’t tell if that was on purpose or not. bugged the absolute shit outta me bc hunter’s not into pain like that and he was enjoying it too much for it to make sense, kinda like it was written as if lube isn’t needed for anal? idk annoying anyway. also they are not having that many rounds in a row, esp without lube, good fucking bye💀 anyway, they don’t stand out to me as a couple, probably bc i couldn’t focus on anything else but the accumulation of everyone acting stupid that last book.

everything about the sister story was wild to me lmao….got shot in the head but survived but her memories were basically gone or meant nothing to her, and she was basically a robot, worked for isa for 10 years, and then in the end, she had chunks bitten out all over her entire body bc isa thought she might be a whisper too since she was hunter’s sister, and tbh probably was raped during that too since isa thought he needed to do that with hunter, and then her body was discarded in the woods like trash….poor girl fr.

overall, the story had me addicted and reading like crazy, even if most of the third book annoyed the hell outta me. the first book was probably the best of the three. the second book was pretty monotone up to the sister reveal. and the third, aside from giving me anger issues, was anticlimactic, and even yule agrees. the fact hunter just shot isa is simultaneously funny as fuck and also like ??? is that it ??? i kept waiting for another twist after that bc i’m like no fucking way is that all. but nope, the danger was done after that. so yea, enjoyable but with an unsatisfying conclusion.

(3.5★) This series pretty much downhilled since book 2. I think downhilled is not the correct term, because there wasn't anything wrong or unpleasing with book 2 and this one. I just.... This just didn't hit as good as book 1.

I liked the way their relationship progressed for shore.

But that was it. The plot was decent, but I can't believe *spoiler* that Isa died.

Like yeah, he isn't a good guy. But man. I LIKED HIM. He would've had such a solid redemption arc (with first 🤧). The amount of wasted opportunity we had with Isa will forever haunt me.

Ironic that he’d spent ten years of his life running from Odin, only for the Dominus to turn into the one thing he needed to run to in order to feel whole again.

Chani hasn’t let us down with this final instalment to Odin and Hunter’s story. I absolutely fucking love this series and have been waiting for this final book with the excitement of a hyper child.

Odin is still possessive AF over Hunter, and it’s wonderful. I love their dynamic, it’s hot as hell and it’s just swoon worthy.

The plot in this completely explodes with intense storyline and things happening I wasn’t expecting. It was a delight and I will be rereading this series again as it’s just addictive.

I won’t say more than this as you don’t want it spoilt. I actually got a little teary at points. I just can’t praise it enough.

Some authors are not meant to be binged. I think each book should not have been read in a row. I should have taken a break. I probably wouldn’t be as bored and annoyed rn about the slug of a plot this 3rd book was. Luckily it was short. I should have spaced it out instead of binging it. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Odin is a bit of an idiot. Makes poor choices. Hunter does too. It’s probably why they are such a good match. Making the same mistakes over and over again.

“How…incredibly anticlimactic of you,” Yule was saying when Odin approached.” Couldn’t have said it better myself, Yule. The demise of Isa was VERY meh 🫤

It ended with an HEA but with several plot holes. Hunter should have admitted why his shot went astray from book 1 where he was a dead bullseye 🎯 shot when it came to Isa in book 3. AND how Hunter should be Dominus Frost. The Meg stuff was completely asinine and pointless too.

Should I read on in this universe or take a break?🤔

She’s done it again. This book had me absolutely captivated. I have loved Hunter and Odin since I first read their story in book one and it has only gotten better. The world building and character development is amazing and we finally get our happily ever after moment. This book had its ups and downs, it’s dark times and bright times and I loved every second of it. This is the final book in this trilogy and I’m sad to see it end. I can’t wait to read the spin off novel with Wren and Sun. I was honored to receive the ARC for this book and I hope that everyone else loves this book and has enjoyed reading Hunter and Odin’s story as much as did.

“You can take it, Huntsman.” He fucked him deep again. “Little whisper.” And again. “Baby.” Again, this time hard enough, Hunter’s eyes rolled back in his head. “Husband.”

The bitterest of all bitter sweet moments, whilst we get our well fought out HEA, it's time to say goodbye to my boys, Odin and Hunter. Reviewing the final installment in The Whisper In The Dark trilogy has truly left me emotional. I feel like it's been a journey and a half, from the enemies-to-lovers to where they find themselves now. Although lovers is a bit of a stretch in the beginning of this trilogy because both men's pride was an obstacle to overcome on the road to love. Don't Let Me Go was a tense finale and my heart was in my throat whilst Odin battled it out against Isa. There's casualties of war but the end definitely justified the means. And What a climactic ending to a mesmerising and gripping trilogy. Chani did us proud in giving us the closure we needed for this pair of idiots (I mean that with all my love and adoration) Odin and Hunters tale is one of revenge, double crossing, vengeance and an earth-shattering love between a Shout and his Whisper.

Tropes: secret identity, mafia, enemies to lovers, paranormal
Feels: 4/5
Steam*: 4/5
Kinks: rough sex, blood exchange
Angst: low/medium
HEA: yes
Pairing: MM
Triggers/potential icks/content themes: murder and violence, jealousy over Odin's past sexual relationship with Isa, attempted rape

When it comes to a duet or a trilogy, my review approach is I have to read all of the books in it before I judge. I do judge each book individually but I like to put it in context of the other books that complete the story. I have read the full trilogy.

This is the final book in Hunter and Odin's story. It starts with Hunter leaving Odin's club with Meg, his sister who is somehow alive. He thought she was dead for 10 years. Something is seriously wrong with Meg, she's not the person she was. Hunter is reluctant to leave the club, he doesn't want to leave Odin and he doesn't want Odin to think that he's abandoned their agreement / him. Hunter finds out that Meg is working for Isa. Hunter is tortured nearly to death by Isa and his men and is nearly raped by Isa. Isa realizes that Hunter is a whisper and wants to use him, tying him to him.

Odin rescues Hunter. Throughout this book, Odin and Hunter finally admit that their relationship is more than convenience and lust, they love each other. Through various conflicts, they choose each other over everything else, even things and people that are very important to them. They are 100% committed to each other. They have a final confrontation with Isa.

I enjoyed this trilogy. It was a compelling story, with lots of history between Odin and Hunter and a lot of strong emotions and tensions. I loved the friends to enemies to lovers aspect. How they were always obsessed with each other even when there were negative emotions. And I love when a villain falls hard and is vulnerable for their love interest. It was very entertaining. I loved that Hunter was a strong character and had his own moments of saving the day and being smart.

I was happy to see that book 3 had almost no typos! Book 2 was riddled with typos and it drove me batshit.

There were a couple of things that I wish we had seen play out on page. They never talked about how Hunter missed fatally shooting Odin 10 years ago because of whisper/shout restrictions. We never heard why the heck Leo thought Hunter had stolen something from him. I was really hoping they would wrap up that loose end and that it actually served a purpose in the plot. We also didn't get a lot of closure on what happened to Meg over the course of the 10 years. Her story was wrapped up super quickly with her being killed.

One random thing about this author that bugs me a little bit is that a lot of her books take place in the same universe, but she doesn't mark them as being part of a series of connected books in Goodreads/her website. She writes such a wide variety of books (e.g. mf, mm, ya, older, etc) that I need help finding organization in her back list, and yes I have looked at what she has on her website. It makes it hard for me to find which books of hers to read. Once I've read one book in a series and I've liked it, I want to read more!

Some notable moments:

"“If there’s a binding contract that exists on this planet,” he stated, “I’m going to have it. With him.” “You’re already mated.” “And I’ll bind him to me further. Objections?” “Wouldn’t dream of it.”"

"“Gross,” Yule said, throwing up his hands when Odin glared. “I meant the icky sex sound you just made, not the blood-drinking.” He turned to Hunter. “That was badass. I like you, Thorn.”"

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

Don’t Let Me Go is the third and final installment in Chani Lynn Feener’s dark MM scifi mafia romance A Whisper in the Dark. Here, Hunter and Odin have finally acknowledged that their feelings for each other are real despite all the baggage. They must face Isa with a united front if they want to succeed but soon realize that loving each other may just be the weakness Isa needed.

This series has been very consistent throughout and this one did not disappoint. Hunter and Odin have come a long way, and while there is still this hint of darkness in their interactions and play, the love is apparent as well. I don’t know how healthy their relationship could ever be, but both are just as fucked up as the other and they accept that about each other.

Overall, I do think the series would work better read as a single book rather than in 3 installments. These last two books felt lacking in story beats when read alone, but all three together will tell the complete story.

Consistent with its predecessors, Don’t Pet Me Go ties up Hunter and Odin’s tumultuous relationship and delivers a satisfying ending to the A Whisper in the Dark trilogy.

This author has promise even if the storylines are somewhat predictable. The world-building could also use a more sophisticated approach but the creativity comes through loud and clear.

Given all this, I was so surprised to learn in the Acknowledgements that Feener has a "street team" of support specifically focused on editing. How can this be? Feener's creativity and imagination are evident but her ability to spell is woefully lacking. She needs a stronger editor. This is now the fourth book I've read by Feener and I'm not certain I'm willing to go further until she addresses the glaring grammatical errors. They are so jarring in the midst of the storytelling.

Case in point:
- "Subtutly" for "subtly"
- "Reigns" but really meant "reins"
- "Taught" but meant "taut" -- This error was consistent in all three books of the series!

These are just a few mistakes that I started to highlight because it was so dang annoying. Either words are spelled phonetically or the wrong but similarly sounding word is in place of the intended context. It's cringe-worthy and incredibly distracting for the reader. Feener has the talent she just needs serious polish.

The perfect end to this dark romance. Hunter and Odin are great and really find their stride together in this book. The conclusion to this trilogy was fantastic. I had to sit with the story for a little bit. While not as dark and twisted as other books, I loved this one. Odin and Hunter really came together. And I loved how things ended. These two felt like dated mates.

Well, this whole trilogy was just a blast! Just what I wanted to read and I’m so happy about it! Nothing too complicated. High on fun and low on any extraneous plot lines, just what I love. Definitely going on my favorites list.

I enjoyed seeing Hunter and Odin become true lovers and move toward partners. They’re both absolutely unhinged in different ways and I love that for them. It always helps when both people are unhinged.

Aw man, I’m so sad Wren Shen never got his book. I saw something about how it was supposed to come out in 2024 but I don’t see it anywhere. I’ll just have to hope one day the author is able to share that book with us.

I just about cheered out loud when

I chuckled when Odin decided they needed to get married and Hunter was so neutral about it, lol! But he went along with it to make Odin happy and because he didn’t care if he was married.

Still wrong words used and typos, but nothing to make it unreadable. Possibly less than the previous books. Plus she broke a dialogue paragraph the right way and I love to see it!

Contains:
—on page torture
—kidnapping
—betrayal (not between MCs)
—MCs physically separated for about a third of the book
—patricide (but frankly he was physically abusive to his kid and had it coming)
—vomiting on page
—bloodletting and blood drinking
—sexual assault and near-rape of MC on page
—possessive MCs
—mafia
—sci fi fantasy
—hand-wavey world elements (but it works fine)
—anal sex without lube
—anal sex without much prep
—reference to murder of a an 11 year old child (not by the MCs)
—spanking (during one sex scene)
—vomiting
—kidnapping, kind of
—betrayal, kind of
—death of side character

He’d keep him distracted for as long as he could, that was the best he could do. The last thing he could do. Finally, a sliver of sadness seemed to poke at his otherwise emotionless state of being. He’d gotten to be mated with Odin for such a brief amount of time and now he was going to die before even getting to admit to the other man how he felt. It wasn’t fair. But it wasn’t surprising.

At some point, keeping his Huntsman had become more important to him than his revenge.

Typically, Brumal law was more than enough for Odin, but where Hunter was concerned, he wasn’t willing to settle for anything less than what the man deserved, and that was protection from everyone and everything. “I’m going to marry him,” he admitted then, stroking his fingers lightly through Hunter’s hair.

“We’re here, in our bed. In our home. I’m about to fill you with my cock and my come, and then later, I’m going to do it again. Not because you’re forbidden fruit, or out of curiosity about what your face might look like not wearing that serious expression you always used to wear, but because you’re mine and I can. I can fuck you whenever and wherever I like, Huntsman, and you’ll spread these legs for me and welcome me into that tight little body of yours willingly. Won’t you?”
That stubborn part of him reared its head and wanted to snap back for the sake of pride, but he caught it and shoved it back down, shifting his hips instead in a wordless plea before whispering, “Yes.”

“Sir, yes, sir,” he stated, grinning as he aimed and fired at the person who’d almost hit him.
Odin blinked over his shoulder at him for a split second. “…You’re actually enjoying this."
It’d started as a joke, but yeah, he actually was. “I forgot how much I like to shoot,” he said, emptying the rest of the clip in one swift motion. Hunter held out his palm. “Refill.”
“Oh,” Odin pulled something from his pocket and slapped it into his hand, “I’ll definitely be filling something later. You’re incredibly sexy when you’re murdering people, Huntsman.”

Even if Hunter had taken the time to try and convey he’d be back, Odin’s gut reaction had been to find him and rut him on the nearest hard surface.

Part of him recognized how insane all of this was. How he’d gone from hating the man to wanting to taste and touch and own every part of him. But Odin didn’t care. So long as Hunter Thorn was his, he didn’t give a shit what that said about him or what anyone else thought either. So what if they’d once been enemies? So what if Hunter had shot him that day in the forest? What mattered, the only thing that did, was that he’d finally gotten to test out that fantasy he’d had as a teen. He’d not only gotten to experience Hunter’s body, but if he was to be believed, he now also had his love. And damn it all to hell, Odin did believe him. That wasn’t a word someone like his Huntsman would ever throw around lightly.

Odin moved quickly, capturing him in his arms and pulling him forward to stand between his legs. “You’re mine now, and I’m never letting you go.” Even if he had to burn everything to the ground to keep him.

While he wasn’t wrong, Odin was already determined to kill the next person who tried tacking on the name Frost to his Huntsman.

“Here are the facts, Snow, so listen closely. You’re mated to a Whisper who doesn’t like to cower and is prideful to the point of it almost being detrimental to his well-being. I’m never going to be the person standing on the sidelines, twiddling my thumbs, hoping you can win a fight without me.”

[About marrying Odin] He’d almost suggested they skip it since things had run pretty smoothly since Frost’s death a month ago, but it’d been so obvious Odin wouldn’t drop it, Hunter had eventually opted to go through with it just to make the other guy happy. It wasn’t like being married was some great hardship for him in any case. Now, not only would he be recognized as Odin’s partner in the Brumal, but by the government.

Honestly… this book probably didn’t need to exist... the series was already dragging and by the time i got to this one, i was just over it. It could’ve been wrapped up in 300 pages tops. I mean I kept checking how many pages were left every few chapters and that’s never a good sign. I’ll give it some credit...the ending was kinda cute and tied things up nicely, but even that felt rushed and underwhelming. not enough to save it tbh, its like a 1.5 out of 5, maybe a 2 if i’m being generous. big yawn 🥱

Awesome book!

Awww, I love Hunter and Odin. They're so cute together in the end. Hunter is such a badass. It's so cool that they share powers.
I love this book. It gave me all the feels. There were some laugh out loud moments, and some cry like a baby moments, too. This is the fifth book I've read by Chani Lynn Feener, and I've bought every single one of them after I read them on KU just so that I could hoard them like the treasures they are.

Broo, this was so good. I can't believe I won't be seeing these two foreseeable future. I'm so excited about the book A Shout in the Light: I Will Never Tell, which will contain Wren and Sun's story, and I'm just as curious about them as I am excited to see my boy in this book.

The dynamic between Odin and Hunt was so hot and fun, the foreplay teasing so good. You know what is the best part? Hunt's personality, to the very end of this book he refused to be any less than a partner, an equal. He fought tooth and nail every time Odin tried to treat him like a weakling, fragile thing. Really ma boy was far from a weakling but the carts the life dealt him was so shitty (imagine that to this point he doesn't know why he was tortured in book one? I suspect it was just for the fun of it).
“Here are the facts, Snow, so listen closely. You’re mated to a Whisper who doesn’t like to cower and is prideful to the point of it almost being detrimental to his well-being. I’m never going to be the person standing on the sidelines, twiddling my thumbs, hoping you can win a fight without me.
“If I’m there, I’m jumping in. If I see you in danger, I’m going to do something about it. And if there’s ever a time like there was tonight, where you’re backed into a corner and about to literally lay down your life for mine, I’m sure as hell not going to let you take the fall alone.”

“Things can’t always be perfect and pretty,” Hunter said, knowing that’s what he was getting at, that he was trying to say they could be like this and only this. “I can’t be your escape from the darkness outside, not all the time.”
“Why not?”
“Because I want a partner.”

The world building was good and the plot was exciting, so all in all it was a fun and awesome ride.

Oh well. The finale was rather unsatisfying.

The relationship between Snow and Hunter was the best part of this series. The resentment turned interest turned affection turned love was well-done and had a great pace. They grew up together as a couple and as people, and I really enjoyed reading their development.

The rest though...

The world-building was completely forgotten; the first book gave an explanation but that was all. Isa was an interesting villain that

All the twists and turns happened so fast, out of nothing, and were so effortlessly solved that I just couldn't care.

And the sister... She literally came back to life to lure Hunter out of the club and that. Was. All. I think she's the most convenient tool I've seen an author use. Omg the nerve!

The series waned more and more with each installment. I'm still glad I read it and met these characters, and this book is like a 3.5★ ish, but I was expecting so much more...

Of the titles I’ve read by this author, I liked this series less than the college series set in the same world. I can’t specifically say why - this series seemed like a practice run for the others I’ve read set in the same universe. I thought Isa ended up being kind of a lame villain overall and I didn’t like how the author brought back Meg, the sister character, only to completely cut her out of Hunter’s emotional life for storytelling purposes. It seemed to cheapen that relationship. I thought over the three books it was interesting how the characters (and the author maybe?) kept retconning Hunter/Odin’s relationship (i.e. first- “I was going to let you down easy, I knew you had a crush on me”; end - they had always been flirting and everyone knew, enough that Isa would be jealous). The things I enjoyed were things that I generally enjoy about this author - she has a knack for creating an immersive story that it is easy to lose yourself in, she creates possessive and consuming relationships that make you root for the couple no matter how toxic they tend to be, etc.

Five stars for the series as a whole! This series did not disappoint from beginning to end!

Hunter was awesome! Odin kept stating he wasn't a good person, which was because guess what? He was the best person! Once again, harkening back to previous "dark romances" that I have read by the author, this one was like sunshine and rainbows. I kid you not! Although there was angst, Hunter and Odin's relationship was actually quite positive and healthy, and they communicated! And it was good communication!

Sad to see this series end, but I will read the spin-off book because I enjoyed Wren's interactions throughout this story.

Fave side character in this book has to be Yule. Oh my gosh, his interactions with and about Hunter and Odin's reactions to them were hilarious.

And the main villain...his delusions made him crazy scary in this last book because you knew there was no reasoning with him.

Awesome, awesome series, and well worth the read!

After book two left a bittersweet taste, this one was incredibly satisfying. Finally, Odin and Hunter get their relationship on the right track, and boy do we feel that mating bond twisting! We get lots of action, violence, power clashes, and dominance! We get satisfying deaths, and all of this comes with possessiveness overload! Don't you dare look at Hunter or Odin, because sh*t will happen to you!

That was the HEA they deserved; once they put aside all the doubts and insecurities, being a whisper and a shout was pure perfection. It's dark and possive till the very end, super sexy and hot.

Some side characters who deserve credit Isa is perfect, and i love reading about him, his motives were extreme and so perfect for the villain. Wren, what a good friend, Full of golden mysteries! The twins, wow, loved then;(

I feel, though, that some things that happen in Fade to Black should happen in the open, so that we have more action and the plot makes more sense. It doesn't make sense to introduce a character of such importance to the MC or to the whole story and then kill off the scene. This would work better as a duology or even a standalone, because when you read a series, you expect more world building, more depth, and more action, and this series, to me, fails at delevering that. The possibilities were endless.

I have loved this series so much. Odin and Hunter made me swoon. I was so sorry to see it end. I could read about these two forever. If you haven't read the first two books, I recommend you do so. This world is fascinating, and Chani Lynn Feener has really created something special. Check your cw.

The third book starts off with a bang, picking up right where the second one ends.Hunter has just surrendered to what he feels for Odin when he is lured away from him by a familiar face and is now in extreme danger. Odin knows his Huntsman wouldn't leave him and is desperate to find him. The explosive conclusion to this series is epic. All of these characters were fantastic. This series was fast-paced from the very beginning, and the action never stopped. I absolutely recommend it. I recommend the author's whole catalog.

This whole entire series is fantastic! I LOVE Odin and Hunter. I have fallen in love with the sci-fi romance. Chani Lymn Feener is one of my new favorite authors. This series is unique and refreshing. The storyline grabbed me from the beginning and held my attention the entire three books. It was fast-paced and over too quickly. I could read endless stories about Odin and his Huntsman.

I am not going to spoil anything. I suggest that you read the series. This is book three, and I do not want to spoil anything. However, Odin and Hunter's chemistry burns up the pages. Their wordplay is just as hot. They were destined in the stars. I recommend the whole series and the rest of the author's catalog.

I think I already said it in the first book but so far this is the series that I like the most by Chani. The characters have grown throughout the books and I love the bond that develops between them not for being a whisper and his mate, but by themselves.I think or hope there is another book in this series I am very interested in knowing who the new emperor is and everything that entails.
