Jo Pullinger #4

A Killer’s Shadow

Rate this book
The hunter becomes the hunted as FBI Agent Jo Pullinger fights to survive the ultimate game of cat and mouse.

Special Agent Jo Pullinger is thrilled to chaperone her niece's school field trip. It is supposed to be a relaxing day away from the stresses of her job. But all of it changes in an instant when the call comes in that there is a bomb on the school bus.

The bomber calls himself Graff, and he wants Jo to know that he is coming for her.

Meanwhile, Bryan Ford is starting out on his new career as a private investigator. He has promised his wife and daughter that he would take on less dangerous cases from now on, but fate has other plans for him.

When a woman goes missing, Bryan is hired to find her. But as he digs deeper into the case, he realizes that there is much more at stake than just one person's disappearance. The trail leads him straight to Graff and his twisted plot.

Now, Jo and Ford must work together to stop Graff before he can carry out his deadly plan. But with time running out and the odds stacked against them, it's anyone's guess whether they'll be able to succeed.

Fans of James Patterson, David Baldacci, and Harlan Coben will love this new series!

Family is the heart

This one hits at Jo and her family. We have new agent, more time with her supervisor, the family is in danger, and Ford is back as a PI and then a consultant. The killer/stalker is creepy but efficient. Joe, the taxi driver, has a role again and I loved seeing him throughout the book. The story and case move fast and are very colorful and engaging. Another great book and a fascinating series.

This one almost crosses the line

Between the heartbreaking conflict between the safety of loved ones and duty and the insanity of this perpetrator, this tale of tragedy almost gives me a feeling of being exposed to something, slimy, nasty and unclean. I am not quite sure why; the writing of James Burke’s daughter (is her name Alafair?) gives the the same discomfort.

That being said, it’s my own discomfort; Thomas Fincham’s writing is as skilled as in previous works. Maybe it’s just my old age catching up with me.

A mood for conundrums...

No matter how careful she is , the bad guys always find her. former Detective Bryan and Agent McKinley back her constantly and give her support whenever needed. The new Agent Swann comes on the scene rather abruptly to confuse the mix. Dead bodies are all around her and give her reason to guard her family. Good storyline and thanks TF for another insight to FBI life and tribulations.

Great, heart blog being read.!

I'm really loving No Pullinger & Bryan Ford, also Sam, Kim, niece Crissy.
Thus us a great series, filled in with twisted & turns that keep you guessing this one especially. The characters are real people, not stiff cut-out lawman-& women. They have flaws & fears, ideally love their families & are sometimes tired of their jobs.I also enjoy that more people are starting to join the storylines & widen their worlds.
On to the next adventure!

An amazing read in this series and I feel the best yet. Jo gets tangled once again in the life of a psychopath, who resembles the new agent called Swann. Two cases end up crossing over with her old friend Bryan Ford, who is now a private detective. Together can they catch the psychopath who has been stalking Jo. Another fast paced, exciting read from Thomas Fincham.

Good read

It's hard not to get immersed in a Thomas Fincham's book. The read is easy to follow, the characters have great chemistry and the story itself is good. The right amount of mind games and a perfect amount of crazies.

Great

Out of all the series, the jo pullinger series is quickly becoming a favorite. While this one you didn't have to guess who the killer was, it was still edge of your seat what's going to happen next. Easy read.

Great, thrilling read.

I love the Jo Pullinger series. Well written, great characters and thrilling storylines. I do, however, feel sorry for people, who are close to Jo, as they undoubtedly get entangled in her investigations.

I would highly recommend.

Killer's Reasoning

Jo has a stalker, but is it someone she knows? Will his path of destruction explain his choices? Fincham is once again a masterful storyteller who brings the different plot threads together.

Great Read

With a killer cold enough to chill my bones and bodies dropping fast A KILLER’S SHADOW kept my attention straight through.

They could subtitle Fincham’s books, NO DULL MOMENTS.

I've Been Watching You

A bomb threat was made on the bus Crissy, Jo's niece was riding on a field trip. Strange beginning of a case of murder, near kidnapping and an obsession with Jo.

This series gets better with each book!

Fincham writes great characters - even the villains. The supporting characters are also well-developed: adding interest and some laughs. The relationship between Jo and Ford gets better with every case.

Another great read

I can't stand it when a book is bad, but I hate it when they're good too because I finish them too fast. Another great book finished to fast.

Wrong one of Love

The characters are very believable and we could feel like we were there with them. I'm still wondering why the Swann character had to be thrown in.
