Lovecraftian cosmic terror meets modern-day conspiracy. Award-winning author Dennis Detwiller brings you twenty-four brief tales of horror and personal fragments of terror in the world of Delta Green.
Born of the U.S. government's 1928 raid on the degenerate coastal town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts, the covert agency known as Delta Green spent four decades opposing the forces of darkness with honor, but without glory. Stripped of sanction after a disastrous 1969 operation in Cambodia, Delta Green's leaders made a secret to continue their work without authority, without support, and without fear. Delta Green agents slip through the system, manipulating the federal bureaucracy while pushing the darkness back for another day—but often at a shattering personal cost. A short but entertaining book of micro-fiction based in the Delta Green universe. As with most collections I found some stories stronger than others but on average here they were almost all entertaining.
For those interested in playing and especially running Delta Green RPG sessions this collection offers tantalizing tableaus that may spark ideas for short games. With some work perhaps the ideas could be fleshed out into longer games but that would require quite a bit of work from the reader.
An improvement on the volume 1 in many ways and a great foray into the Delta Green universe. Some of the stories are more interesting and memorable than others, but an each is short and digestible.
