Cool. Dismissive. Emotionally unavailable. That's how Luke Hunter's ex-girlfriends would describe him. And he would agree.
Experience has taught him that being detached and not getting close to anyone are the only ways to survive. So when the needy woman at the bar tells him of her relationship woes, he listens, but that's all.
She's interested, and he's not. She wants to get close, he wants his own space.
When her cousin married the city's hottest and most eligible bachelor, Kay Sullivan looked on and wished she could have met someone like that. If a single mother riddled with debt can get her fairytale ending, why can't she? Plus, Kay doesn't necessarily need the guy to be a billionaire. But it helps when he is. So when she discovers that the bartender she met on vacation is filthy rich, on top of being drop-dead gorgeous, she might have just found a fairytale ending of her own.
Except that Luke Hunter doesn't want a relationship. He doesn't date, and he's not looking for love. She can handle it. She can. Because, like most women, she knows he'll change when he falls in love with her. And until then, letting him use her is something she'll put up with. Because the sex is great, even if it's just a hookup.
** The Hookup is a 110K sexy standalone contemporary romance with a HEA, no cheating, or cliffhangers. It is Book 2 in the Indecent Intentions series (a spin-off from The Billionaire's Love Story) **
Lily Zante is the author of over sixty contemporary romance and women's fiction novels. After spending two decades working in IT, she decided to give writing another try. Given her love of The Walking Dead, she started off writing zombie fiction but quickly dove into writing romance instead. She's glad she switched.
I'm a bit disappointed to learn that The Hookup<\strong> is the last book in the Indecent Intentions<\strong> series. I like the down to earth writing. I could actually connect with the characters because they were written with seemingly "average" issues, especially the woman.
I loved Luke and Kay's story so much. With each new book Lily continues to bring out the emotions in me. Luke and Kay definitely have some major issues they are dealing with and both have their own dysfunctional ways of doing so. With that being said, Luke can be very mean and can say some pretty nasty things, while Kay seems to just allow everyone to stomp all over her. A few times while reading I found myself crying like a baby - feeling every single hurtful thing that was said and then reading further and realizing why the things were said and having a different outlook on the whole situation. Almost felt like I was watching a moving where they do a 360 loop and you see everything happening in a slow motion circle. An emotional roller coaster that is for sure. The journey these two take is chock full of many disappointments but also many happy moments as well. With all of their strengths as well as their flaws you can't help but fall in love with both of them and route for a happy outcome. You will not be disappointed!!
Wow! A compelling, thought-provoking, passionate romance with a great storyline that will invoke so many emotions, you will find yourself getting mad, tearing up, laughing, and at times swooning. The heroine is very strong, sweet, patient, and forgiving but the hero is a douche - interestingly enough they have amazingly hot chemistry. It is a well written fast pace page turner that is quite engaging and relatable with a well-developed plot. Lots of ups and downs, back and forth, and family drama to hold your interest from start to finish. It is a very enjoyable, interesting read that I strongly recommend.

Kate and Luke are quite the couple. Kate likes to have a good time. She has concentrated on her work and getting ahead. She wants love but always seem to end up with losers and users. When she meets Luke, he checks all her boxes. Handsome, rich and a mysterious. He seems that way until they start a friends with benefits arrangement. Luke is messed up. He is cold and unfeeling. He dismisses every overture Kate offers to get to know him and get closer. He was down right mean at times. Kate continued to stand by him until she couldn't take it anymore. She did more than she had to. It took Luke a long time to realise what he was missing. It was not easy for Kate to forgive or forget. I liked both characters even though Luke was a hard to like/love her. Kate came off as desperate and a doormat. They both were strong characters that had to grow. It took a while but they came into their own. Loved the story. Love is not always easy and this a good example of that.

Wow Luke is one intense guy! I really enjoyed this book and the story line was great but I did find the start very odd one minute Luke wasn't interested the next he was wanted to sleep with Kay. I also didn't get why she persued him so much when she also said she wasn't interested in being a fling after Xavier dropped her like a hot potato. Totally made no sense. It just didn't flow well and I found the situation of him being the big boss but bartending and pretending he wasn't rich as sin silly especially knowing Kay was from money herself. I completely loved that Kay held her own and made him see he couldn't treat her like that and he needed help. I not enjoy Savannah in this book at all I felt she was being a judgy bitch and literally made Kay out to be some sort of slut which I felt was wrong. I would have preferred the writing to be in the first person especially when flitting from Luke to Kay. Overall I would recommend this book I couldn't put it down and had to know what happened at the end but just a few things bothered me.
This was a good story with some interesting twists and turns. Kay meets Luke working behind the bar at her cousin’s wedding. She makes it obvious she’s interested but he doesn’t want to get involved with anyone and doesn’t mix business with pleasure. When they get back she goes to his bar but once again he is polite but ignores her flirting. She still wants him and won’t give up. Eventually they come to an arrangement to just be f**k buddies with no feelings or romance involved.. but secretly she is still hoping for more. Soon enough she is regretting getting involved with him though as he stringently sticks to his ‘rules’.. he is the most stubborn guy for not budging on anything!! It takes a long while for her to get anywhere with him, so much so i was getting a little fed up with him being mean and pushing her away all the time...then changing his mind.. then doing it again. He is hot but has issues from being hurt in the past and stuff. They get a hea eventually though.

Kate is at her cousin's wedding trying to be happy for her but wonders if she'll ever find love. When she met Luke it seemed like he met everything she wanted in a man. However after they started their friends with benefits arrangement he turned cold and was mean at times to her. Kate tries to get Luke to share his life with her but at every turn she is rebuffed and doesn't know what she should do. Luke is used to his life the way it is and doesn't want to let anyone know about the painful things in his past. He doesn't understand why Kate is pushing things between them. When Kate reaches her breaking point she ends things even though she loves Luke. Will Luke wise up and admits his feelings to Kate? Cam she forgive him for the way he treated her?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first page. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Kay and Luke's story is one for the books (pun intended) watching from the sidelines as her cousin gets her happily ever after Kay wonders if there's a chance maybe she can to. When Kay is drowning her sorrows at a bar confiding in the bartender Luke about her problems they both jump at the chance for an easy hookup. But neither can forget the other and when they chance another meeting Kay realizes she may have just found her prince charming. Except Luke has never looked any farther than the bedroom no romance no flowers no date nights no snuggling on the couch watching TV. But as they gradually get to know each other Kay's patient she'll wait she waits and waits and waits until one day Luke comes around it takes some drama some tears little hyperventilating little jealousy but in the end Kay gets her happily ever after

Story of 2 stubborn I really liked this story, which is a simple basic story, but the introspection of the two main characters is extremely well described and moving. The two adults Kay and Luke, who refuse up to the absurdity of being emotionally attached, but who want to sleep together for ... and indeed they do not even know it. As much as Kay manages to understand herself, as much Luke needs an extremely serious incident to take a new look on his behavior which is always at the expense of Kay. They are both very annoying because although they hold each other, Luke is sometimes despicable, and Kay seems to accept everything from this behavior. Their change of behavior and theirs backs to the wall are very well described, and their dialogues and confrontations are excellent. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I kind of don’t even know what to say about this book. What the previous book lacked in steam this one more than makes up for. This is a pair of seriously messed up characters. Kay feels the need to be in some kind of relationship and she’s prepared to “fix” him if the man in question isn’t up to snuff. Luke has heaps and heaps of unresolved emotional baggage that prevent him from making any kind of meaningful connections. I was still cheering for their happy ending even though I know perfectly well that in the real world, these two are textbook codependent and I’d be encouraging them to stay far away from one another. One of the things I like the best about this story is that Luke gets help in order to get past his issues, but I would have loved to see Kay getting help as well. Oh boy.... gosh this was a page turner, but at times I had a hard time reading it. Dear Luke a classic workaholic definitely had a lot to learn, and he learned it. I love this love story of Luke and Kay. If you have read The Bed you will find that entire first chapter is a repeat, and there are several moments throughout the first half that are repeats. Those are the moments when I found it hard to read. After reading the whole thing I wish that they would have taken out those repeat moments to give us more of what happens at the end of the novel. I want to experience the important moment.
Overall definitely recommend, but please read The Gift Series, The Offer Series, the Vow Series, and the Bet first. After reading them all I still want more of these characters.
This book was a new author read for me and although I loved the story of Luke and Kay, I felt that I was missing out on some of the dialogue of the other characters. I enjoyed the book enough that I have added all the remainder 9 books to my TBR list and can't wait to get to know each and every one of these characters and the their stories. This book was a well written story with great characters that added personality and flare to the story. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC from BookSprout.
The Hookup is book 2 of Indecent Intentions. I read book 1, the Bet and liked it. I wasn’t as big of a fan for this one but I didn’t like the subject matter as much: ie hookups. This story is about Kay and Luke. Luke is a working as a bartender at a wedding in Fiji and Kay is the cousin of the bride. They are both kind of secretive but when they both are back in New York, she finds out exactly where he works. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book

A exciting and captivating very sexy emotional rollercoaster. These very broken troubled people hookup at a wedding and end up having an emotional, enlightening, plenty of obsracles, and sometimes a painful journey in this engaging and entertaining read. Luke and Kay definitely have some major issues they are dealing with and both have their own dysfunctional ways of doing so and its full of dissapointments but also happy times on there way to a HEA.

Great bittersweet romance. Very interesting plot and characters, even though you get exasperated with them both. Kay is a young woman looking for a good time, or maybe love but goes about it all wrong. Luke is a handsome successful bar owner who attracts women without doing anything, but wants absolutely no commitment. Kay wants too much and Luke wants nothing at all except sex. Luke is too demanding and Kay too willing. Match made in heaven, right? Really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
This book has a captivating storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book! Intensely sensuous, wrought with emotion, and so well written that I absolutely could not put it down! It is complete with its very own HEA, however, secondary characters are interconnected with other books in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone or they can be read in order of publication for maximum pleasure *wink, wink*

Lily does a great job of building her characters, and in continuing to have prior book characters make their appearance. Moody & broken Luke meets Savannah’s cousin Kay, a success in everything but love. Stormy times turn sad, then eventually work their way out, as Kay and Luke find their happy ending. In the meantime, we meet Savannah and Tobias’ new twins, Xavier and Izzy make their relationship work, and Max and Briony make an important decision.
This book just dragged and dragged. The characters were so unlikable! Savannah was not nice to Kay, basically slut shamed her throughout the majority of the book, Luke’s character is so awful! Trauma is not an excuse to treat people like trash and be virtually emotionally abusive, and that’s exactly what he did. I pushed through in the hopes the characters would redeem themselves - Luke finally got therapy after Kay “saved” him and somewhat redeemed himself, but overall, this was not a good read.
Wow, what an amazing book. No spoilers from me but you will not be disappointed. This book is full of chemistry, passion & lust with some twists and turns along the way. They syart witb a hookup but neec to see what they actually want from each other. You will see some of the main characters from Lilys other books in here and that's great as you catchup on there loved as well. This book is amazing. An absolute must read.
I can't wait to see where Lily will take us with her books xx
Loved Luke and Kay's story. These 2 are very broken and troubled, and will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. The chemistry between them is super sexy but they have to work through some drama and truths, to find love in the end. I couldn't put this book down, I needed to know what would happen next. I giggled, I cried, my kindle nearly went flying and when I reached the end, all I could say was WOW. Thank you Lily Zante for yet another awesome book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was a wonderful story. Plenty of emotion. Plenty of heat. Wonderful characters, I loved getting to know. This was a definite five star read for me! This is my first Lily Zante book. I must have more, and can't wait to add them to my list. Looks like I've got to start at the beginning of this series!
Although I haven't read the previous book in the series, this is a standalone and I had no trouble following the story. There's plenty of heat and emotional moments, as well as twists and turns that kept my interest to the end and the happily ever after. I'll definitely add all the books of the series in TBR list.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I really enjoyed reading “The Hookup” from Lily Zante. It is a really well written book with a great, interesting, intriguing storyline and the engaging characters have great chemistry and interaction that pulled me into their story. This is an Entertaining, Must Read Romance that I really loved reading from beginning to end
This is the second book in the Indecent Intentions Series. You'll love the story of Kay and Luke. It's very emotional with lots of highs and lows. Secrets and plenty of hurdles to cross. Their chemistry is over the top and they are quite the couple. Engaging and entertaining with an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
This is another fantastic story by Lily Zante and she’s fairly new to me, I loved the characters Kate and Luke and there’s some pretty hot sizzling chemistry between the two of them. I also felt like slapping the both of them sometimes as well, it’s a very entertaining story and I enjoyed it immensely and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
This is the second book in the Indecent Intentions Series and is just as good as the first one. This was a really emotional read at times and has enough going on to keep you hooked and reading late into the night. Kay and Luke are a really good couple and have plenty of chemistry this another great read from Lily
Wonderful story from start to finish, entranced by the characters... I enjoyed reading this book. Was a wonderful read throughout. The characters pull you in and make you want to read more. Keep it coming... I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
He is cold and is only interested in hook ups. She is lonely and when she sees him she wants him. She wants a happy ending but will she get it with him? Even if she does not they have great sex. Can it ever be more? See where it will go

This book needs a grammar and spelling editing real bad. I made it to chapter 16, but couldn't take it any longer. The book was contradicting at times too. The characters just seemed too childish. I am all for playing cat and mouse, but here it made me frustrated.

He come across as a nice guy, tending bar. She was a little down at the time, and he helped her out of her funk. When they next met, he wasn't the same laid back person. She had low self esteem, wanting someone to care about her. He had a very strict code, to stop him being vulnerable. This is their story telling how both of them found themselves, and then each other.
