How Sweet the Sound: African-American Songs for Children is an amazing book with numerous songs that can be taught when learning about diversity and Black History Month. I love reading the songs that I was taught when I was a little girl. The illustrator used colors that may not be as appealing to preschoolers but were beautiful to me. Many of the songs contained repetitive words that will help the children to learn them faster. It will also give them a bit of some history in a fun way. I absolutely love this book and will be adding it to my library.
How Sweet the Sound: Africa-American Songs for Children is a great book for children to learn about historical songs that come from the African-American culture. The pictures are colorful and the songs are catchy and easy to learn. This book can be used to teach children about history, especially during black history month.
A fantastic inspiration book filled with many different lyrical verses. Allows multicultural children to interact with some of their everyday experiences all while shining a light to those who are not familiar with them to get to know about these amazing songs.
