The Basilisks rocked my world in a night of passion, but discovering their true identities changed everything. Now Zed, Ripper, and Venom owe me answers.
Confronting secrets and resisting desires aren’t my only problems. Competing in a fierce music competition catapults me to fame and flips my life on its head. The three men who deceived me become the only ones who can help.
As our lives, hearts, and music harmonize, we build up to a chorus that no one will forget.
Rhapsody is a full-length reverse harem romance that explores mature themes. Reader caution is advised. This is the second book in the duet.
Holly Bloom has a degree in English Literature, but don't let that fool you... she would pick a steamy romance over a Shakespeare play any day!
Holly writes contemporary romance - the dark, gritty and twisty kind. She loves creating badass babe characters, who aren't afraid to speak their minds, and writing about the men who can handle them - often, there is more than one! Why choose, right?
When she isn't working on her next project, Holly spends an unhealthy amount of time watching true crime and roaming around the woods near her home in the UK. As well as gooey chocolate brownies, Holly’s favourite thing in the world is hearing from her readers.
I enjoyed the second book of Ash and The Basilisks duology. It starts exactly after the ending of the first book A lot of this story is Ash and the Basilisks getting together as a group and more. Tiffany is part again. And she plays her games. Partly her behaviour is explained to her parents and surroundings. But I think that is too easy. It's also her ignorance and her entitlement.
I enjoyed that we meet a lot of Ash's new friends, her Dad and Brick.
Popstarz is the random story, which pull the parts together, but it's not the main story (which was okay).
I would recommend to read the duology. You might need to be in the right mood for it. I like that Ash is not a mainstream musician.
Yes, it is cheesy and rather tropey, however, it gets point for me for doing rockstar romance from a metal perspective, plus the characterisation of all the guys is pretty good (often not the way in RH) and it got an extra half a star for all the group scenes. I mean, I've never seen the point of RH where its just her one on one with the guys, rather than them as a group?
If you like Rockstar RH this is the best one I have read in a long time.
I have been not so patiently waiting for this book from the moment I finished book 1. I built it up in my mind, and wow, this didn't disappoint! Secrets, angst, drama, some danger, and incredibly spicy scenes.
Ash has made it onto Popstarz. Too bad it doesn't seem like it's all she hoped for. Add into that her complicated relationship with The Basiliks: Ripper, Zed, and Venom. They shared something special, but now she knows who they are underneath their masks. Can they make their relationship work while being in the spotlight? Do they even want to try, or will the fame tear them apart?
👏 round of applause for Holly Bloom for writing a phenomenal duet! Seriously, I could not put this book down! I'm not a big fan of rockstar romance, but this duet sucked me in from the very first page. This book was a perfect end to Ash and The Basiliks, but I'm not ready to let these characters go. So what can I offer for an extended epilogue? Just a teeny look into their HEA say 5 or so years down the road. Holly Bloom, if you read this review, let me know.
This was the perfect ending for Ash and the Basilisks!!! This one was also plot heavy, but the spice was spicing in this one 😉
We got closure with almost everything. I loved Ash and Cookies friendship. She was always there for Ash. Ash and her boys grew together and came out strong on the other side. Zed had me raging at one point, but he got his head out of his a$s pretty quickly. Tiffany got what she deserved. Honestly it could have been worse and I would have been ok with it 🤷🏼♀️ I hate her!
I would definitely recommend this duet If you are looking for a rockstar why choose! The fact they wear masks is a total plus!
It seems like I’ve been waiting all my life for this book, and it did not disappoint. There are no words to describe my love for this series. It was an intense rollercoaster ride that was filled with drama, angst, passion, and spice. Ash, Venom, Ripper, and Zed have a vice grip on my heart.
Ash has made it to Popstarz, right after finding out the hidden identities of the Basilisks. This major secret threw her in a loop, and while she is struggling to understand why, she is trying to put that in the past and move on with her life. But they keep on showing up and she must face her problems head on.
While dealing with this revelation, she’s also struggling to find her voice in this new pop world of Popstarz. This is a whole journey of finding herself and pursuing her dreams and fighting her fears. The Basilisks are on the same boat, they’ve hidden their identities their entire career and don’t want to give that up, because this was the only way they can be their true selves.
Oh man, this was something. So much growth happened for everyone. They conquer their fears and while there’s so much going on between their lives’, they find their way together. This world just captured me fully, I absolutely LOVED this duet and am sad to see these characters go.
As a fan of metal music, I absolutely love this story! 🖤 The stigma behind metal will always be around and I really feel it it captured and portrayed so well. Their story is good. I really appreciate how mental health has a big role in this duet.
I was sad it ended, of course, but yes, there were frustrations. I did enjoy this DUET! And enjoy Ash and the Basilisks. The struggle between them was REAL! The stubbornness. Will I recommend this book to people who love hot rockstars, who love mask kinks, why choose romance enthusiasts, and who love spice, plus who love mm, and with ANGST? YES.
I am such a fan of Ash and The Basilisks! Rhapsody picked up right where Disharmony left off, and it was a rollercoaster ride!
After finding out that a band she despises is the same band that got her through some dark times, Ash doesn't know what to do. Not only that, but she's about to be on national television as part of a singing competition, which is being judged by the three men who rocked her world. But there's turmoil between Zed, Ripper, and Venom, who have hidden their secret from the world. They don't know if they could trust Ash, even after they shared an amazing night together. While they're all dealing with keeping this secret, they're also dealing with being in the spotlight and the pressure that comes with it. Who can you trust when you're in the public eye, especially when the people at the top are the most manipulative?
If you're a fan of rockstar romances and men who wear masks, you need to check out Ash and The Basilisks! I was sad to see the story end, but Holly did a great job wrapping everything up for all the characters, not just the main group. Make sure to read the trigger warnings before starting!
Not the American Idol fanfiction. I don’t know much about One Direction/OD fanfiction….but if you told me this was just X Factor fan fiction about one direction secretly being in a metal band (specifically Zayn, Harry and Louis)….I would believe you.
I love pop and metal music, and after reading this book I have decided to never listen to music again. Just in case the members of the bands are acting this cringey and wattpadey in real life. But shout out to the author for capitalizing on booktoks obsession with masked men and drawing everyone in for that bit and delivering when it came to the spice.
Read it... You need to, this book is amazing. Words don't cover just how much I loved this duet, it speaks to my little metal loving heart. Since delving into Disharmony, I've been obsessed about this book and world, literally st@lking this author's socials for any details of Rhapsody. I am so happy that it's here, as soon as midnight came, I squealed with happiness. Did I lose sleep devouring it? Yes I did. Once you open it up, you get completely sucked into this story. The writing is phenomenal, the story is addictive, the men are HOT AF, and Ash is just as amazing as she was in Disharmony. I love each of the Basilisks, one I've grown to love a whole lot more than in disharmony but I still wanted to sm@ck him at times. These men & this story, they draw so much emotion out of you. I've loved, laughed, smiled, raged, sympathized and cried. Remember the spicy scenes in Disharmony, you know the one I'm talking about, hot wasn't it? Rhapsody though, will have you dripping... Or like a full on gushing waterfall. Holly has definitely taken it up a notch, or ten. Honestly get your BOBs and batteries at hand, you'll need them. I've tried my best but I know that no matter what I write, it won't convey just how amazing this book is. I'm speechless. I am so happy that Ash & The Basilisks, and even the side characters that I've grown to love, have all gotten their own versions of happy endings. I am so grateful to have found this author, she's became a must read for me.
I AM NOT READY TO SAY GOODBYE 😭😭😭😭 I didn't think it was possible but Holly Bloom made me fall more in love with these characters and their story. Honestly everything Holly writes is freaking gold its just always GOOD.
I loved this book so much. Definitely happy with the way the story ended it was wrapped up beautifully. There was definitely a lot of ups and downs that Ash and her men had to go through. There's definitely a lot of stuff happening besides the romance that had me hooked.
This book truly showed how much Ash, Ripper, Zed and Venom love each other. Their connection felt so real and raw and their chemistry was off the charts. There was A LOT of spice in this one. We got some one on one scenes and a lot of group ones. And the mouth they had on them 🤭
The character development was well written. Just seeing them work hard for their dream and fight for their love had me crying happy proud tears. Ash and her guys definitely has a special place in my heart. we also got a little of the side characters and their happy ending which just kinds of brings the story to a perfect ending.
"What you are to us is more than a label. You’re all fucking ours , and we’re all yours."
Ash and the Basilisks are back in Rhapsody and this time around, it’s on the set of the country’s biggest reality singing competition. After the betrayal from the night of the Camp Harmony final show, can Ash ever forgive the Basilisks for their deception? And how will she cope with having to be in close proximity to the sexy rockstars on the set of Popstarz? You’ll have to read to find out!
I absolutely love the uniqueness of this duet and the layered and lovable characters. Ash is a small town girl with big music dreams, a rock goddess who is pretending to be a pop princess. Zed, Ripper and Venom are The Basilisks, an obscure metal band disguised as one of the world’s biggest boy bands. There’s mystery and suspense, angst and betrayal, and loads of spice- the perfect recipe for an all consuming why choose read.
In addition to the main foursome, there are some really great side characters, and I love seeing the positive female friendship, especially Ash’s bestieship with Cookie, her former camp roommate turned manager extraordinaire.
Overall, I really loved this duet and would definitely recommend for fans of rockstar romance and why choose.
OMG! This was the absolute perfect ending to this amazing story. Am I sad it’s over, hell yes, but I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out in the end.
The story was suspenseful, emotional, drama filled, exciting, thrilling and so freaking steamy that it definitely had me aching for relief!! It was one hell of a rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to end.
Ash, Venom, Ripper, and Zed go through a lot of emotional ups and downs that they continually had my heart in a vice. I ached for them to work through their differences and to come together to finally get their happy ending.
I was riveted to my seat from beginning to end and devoured every deliciously steamy moment of this incredible journey.
Such a brilliantly written story with amazing characters that you can’t help but fall hopelessly in love with and with a storyline that makes you laugh, cry and fill your heart with unbelievable joy at the end.
Holly Bloom has done it again with her second and final installment to her Ash and The Basilisks series because Rhapsody is everything we needed it to be for Ash and her sexy AF masked men! If you’re a fan of rock star RH romances with tons of hot, steamy, sexy scenes then this is the one for you! No one can deliver the heat quite like Holly, and this one was no exception!
After the first story Venom left our girl Ash reeling with a huge revelation and this story thankfully picks up right where it left us and just keeps going. With lots of tension, angst, hot steamy connections as well as a little heartbreak and betrayal thrown in to keep us on our toes this book has it all and was the perfect ending to this duet! The only thing that makes me sad is that Ash and the Basilisks are fictional because dang do I wish I could hear them play live!!! Well done Holly. Well done!
Aw - I loooooove Ash and her Basilisks!! My one and only complaint - I want moooooooore! Their story is so emotional, and I love the way music brings them together and how she doesn't compromise who she is throughout her journey in the plastic fantastic world of music competitions. The steamy bits are off the charts and this book was one of those that made me mad to have to go to work and adult. Completely unputdownable and though I'm sad that this was the last book in the duet, I'll just have to go reread the Lapland series and scour it for Easter egg mentions of Ash and the Basilisks, and the come back and reread these two again. Love that they're in a shared world, but not. So, super hot and steamy, emotional roller coaster and leaves you with a happy sigh. Enjoy!
I’ve been waiting and waiting for this book. I’m soooo glad it’s here but also sad it's over. I adore these characters in this duet and loved the way this book went. Don’t get me wrong, there were absolutely moments I was screaming at the characters but that just goes to show what a great author Holly is. She writes characters who you love but still want to shake them about occasionally. I love how Ash fought so hard to remain herself throughout the entire experience. She’s a strong woman who didn’t want to give up the person she is to be the person they wanted—and she succeeded. There were twists and turns I didn’t see coming and I loved it. And the ending? Oh, the ending. SO SO SO good. If you haven’t read this duet, what are you waiting for?
Fantastic ending to this musical duet ! Loved this duet so much , especially how the author manages to incorporate rock/metal music , and let the reader connect with a genre most wouldn’t in their normal lives . I think that’s a true measure of success in a music type of story , did you look up any of the songs talked about ? If you did , then the author got your attention and made you at least curious, even if you didn’t like the song , Holly Bloom made you connect enough to look it up ! That’s success for any musical , but especially for a book ?! That’s amazing , great job !
Since ready the Lapland Underground series I have been impatiently awaiting Ash’s story, and it was great! I absolutely love the dynamic between the characters, I am grateful to the author for how even when there was strife between the fmc and her men it was short lived and most issues came from outside of the quad rather than within. I’m not the greatest fan of bully romances, I’m read them but don’t enjoy them as much as I do the story lines where the main characters stick together and fight against an outsider. Big fan of Holly Bloom, she is an exceptional writer and look forward to continue reading books she’s written!!
Nice storyline and has a good DP and DVP scenes. The parts I don’t like was third act breakup but it was mainly Zed’s fault but Venom and Ripper would not have let that slide and I thought it was out of character for them not to speak up for her. Also the MM was good and through their povs we learn their feelings but I kinda wish there would have been a big romantic moment, they do say they love each other. Also they do get to on their own and not hide themselves but they should have been some characters in jail that are still in the industry. I also love how they renamed their band how they all fit well like puzzle pieces.
Rhapsody is the 2nd and last book in this series. It was well worth the wait.
Ash (FMC) has now made it onto the TV Show -Popstarz. Only now is where the problems begin for her with all of the underhand tactics & backstabbing associated with the program. Blackmail and The Basilisks - Zed, Ripper & Venom as well as keeping up the lies and secrets with them too. There's a lot going on in this final book but my word was it just brilliant. I loved both books in this duet so much. It was a cracking read.
This duet is easily a favorite for me. Rhapsody, honestly both books, are jam packed with angst, steam, and so much drama and secrets that you just can't help but love every second of reading it. The character development is only one of the highlights for Ash's story but I must say it's on point. Obviously the steamy bits were worth the read alone because Holy moly 🥵. I'm really sad to see these characters go but their journey was so worth it!
The perfect ending to this duet. I loved Ash and the guys and I was so happy that despite not being set at camp harmony like disharmony was we still got to see all our favourite side characters like Cookie and the twins! I enjoyed seeing how the individual relationships within the group developed and I’m always excited to find some ⚔️ in a why choose book. All round fantastic book, wonderful characters, interesting plot that had me absolutely hooked.
Holly really did Ash ,Zed,Ripper, and Venom, a total solid with the end to their story! What a wild ride!!! 5 stars easy, and as always, the spice was chefs kiss!!! Realistically, anything Holly writes I love because she has such a way with words and characters development that sucks you right in and consumes you!!! She makes you wanna live in these worlds! I can't get enough of her books!!!
She does it again! Absolutely loved this duet! Ash and the guys are perfect together. Seeing how everything plays out after the bombshell in the end of the first book made me not want to put this book down. Especially with all the extra stuff happening. Wish I could go and read it all again for the first time.
The second book of Ash and the Basilisks duet was everything and more. It picks up right where the first book left off. Ashley struggles being a contestant on the show popstars and battles with having to be in the limelight and who you can and can't trust. She deals with drama, betrayal, and tough choices but makes it through. This book was amazing and I highly recommend reading this duet!
Camp rock needs X Factor but hotter, wetter and better!
I absolutely loved it! Metal music is not my thing but it didn't affect my reading or enjoyment of the story! You could still feel the passion and drive behind the lyrics. I loved that we got to see the whole gang again and got to see their story come together too. Cookie is an absolute BLAST!
I was really looking forward to what would go down after Ash found out the Lionhearts were the Basilisks. My expectations were high because Disharmony was one of my favorite books last year. But I found this book to be highly lacking. I felt like it was super cheesy, predictable, and the guys were emotionally immature. I love the merch, though! Super cute!
Miss “iM nOt LiKe ThE oTHhErS” needed a slap of reality sometimes. And I truly don’t understand why Tiffany didn’t end up locked up in a jail or a madhouse, she didn’t deserve redemption after 2 homicide attempts, stalking, threats and arson… Zed also needed therapy for his issues or to read a book to learn how to properly grovel
