2040: The Battle for Life

Rate this book
“We have nukes, we have bio terror, vials, and we are going to clear impure people from the world…” I heard the terrorists’ harsh words and then looked at Priyanka and Captain Vikram who looked aghast. This was the year 2040 and the world was in an International Emergency mode– terrorists had nukes and bio terror viruses placed in over 30 cities worldwide. And I, Rohit Singh, news anchor MwM channel, along with Priyanka Grover, co-anchor, was reporting on this nail-biting story, second by second. We were part of India’s psy-ops… 2040: The Battle for Life is a book which you will be compelled to read in one go. A romantic thriller at one level, deeper down, it is an insightful love story, a look into future technologies and a warning of dangers to the world. All laced with humour, suspense and a classic tale. This is a story you must read to know what your own future and world may become. Lord Meghnad in his Foreword writes – “An exciting story set in the future where the good things of life are even bigger than today but so are the threats to human lives. Sanjay Mittal has written a fast-paced story which will grip you to the final page. What does come through in his novella is the question of the ultimate purpose of all human endeavor. What possible reason can justify the destruction of all life?”

2040: The Battle for Life is a geopolitical thriller with a story full of action and thrill. Set in the year 2040, this book is like a warning to mankind to mend its own destructive ways which is threatening extermination of the human species.

Set in the year 2040, the story explores the threat of nuclear and biological attacks on the world. A group of deadly terrorists have planted biological and nuclear weapons in over 30 cities throughout the globe.. Amidst all the chaos, a news channel; MwM channel is making waves for its daring coverage of the nuclear and biological attacks. At the heart of the action are journalists Rohit and Priyanka Grover, who are relentlessly reporting on the unfolding crisis.

The book is an action thriller with elements of romance. The story focuses on the impending terror attacks but also has a parallel romantic track between Rohit and Priyanka. The book presents a scary yet plausible scenario where terrorists are equipped with nuclear and biochemical weapons. The story is stark reminder what unchecked use of technology for destructive purposes can only bring annihilation for mankind. The book uses the Covid Pandemic as an example how a potential bioweapon going out of control had disastrous consequences and yet humans have not learnt from their discussions. I loved the intense discussions in the book on technology & geo politics. The book set in future captures the futuristic setting of the time really well. The story nicely blends the important message of regulation of technology

Each chapter is a thriller episode in itself, carrying forward the story to the eventual climax with an engaging narrative. There are lot of plot twists towards the eventual climax, which will keep the readers engaged. The characters of Rohit and Priyanka are well crafted and their romantic track though distracting at times, adds an emotional dimension to story. The author has done lot of research on science, cloning, technology, viruses and geo politics adding authenticity to the story.

Overall, 2040: The Battle for Life is an intense thriller making the readers think about the use of unchecked technology for evil means. If you love a thriller, you will love this book.

Sanjay Mittal's 2040: The Battle for Life offers readers a thrilling and fast-paced glimpse into a future world where technology has advanced significantly, and the threats to humanity have increased.

The story follows the personal and professional journeys of Rohit and Priyanka, as they report on a worldwide crisis caused by terrorists who have placed nukes and bio-terror viruses in India.
Mittal's portrayal of futuristic technology is refreshing and adds depth to the narrative.

The author's warning about the dangers of unchecked human ambition and the need for responsible use and regulation of technology is an important message that resonates throughout the book.

However, the narrative and character development fell short in some aspects, and the mixing of Hindi and English language proved to be a hindrance to the reading experience.

Despite its flaws, it is an engaging and suspenseful ride through a future world filled with danger and excitement.

Covid-19 struck out of nowhere and ravaged humankind. It didn't spare anyone and affected everyone without any bias. Now we are in the 2040s and a similar biochemical war looms large on mankind. How would this be stopped?

2040: The Battle for Life by Sanjay Mittal is a futuristic novel that offers a peek into the increasing power of technological advancement threatening life. The story follows a passionate newsroom journalist Rohit whose experiences push him to propel forward and do honest reporting. On the other side, he is faced with a broken marriage and a new romantic interest that gives him hope of living a happier life.

The author takes us on a wild ride as Rohit sets out to report on a global crisis. Brimming with topics of international ties, geopolitical problems, terrorism, and climate change, 2040 pulls readers into a world of fascinating developments. The fast-paced narrative coupled with the thrilling plotline intrigued me throughout. I could sense the author's grip on storytelling as this story kept me hooked!

Blending elements of action, adventure and budding romance, this book has tight-knit prose and taut writing. Multiple storylines are interspersed with each other to engage and intrigue the readers. Be it the imminent global crisis of the possibility of another outbreak or Rohit's attempt to prevent what he had faced as a child, it all comes together, spun into a web of relatable events.

The language is simple, easy to follow, and accessible. The narrative is engaging and for the most part, surreal. I liked the character sketches that are well-rounded and rooted in reality. In a nutshell, 2040 presents a great opportunity for the readers who would want to delve deep into the future and come face to face with possibilities lying in store in the progress of technology.

" Prophecy of our near future "

"2040: The Battle for Life" by Sanjay Mittal seems to be a thrilling and thought-provoking novel set in a future world where terrorists have access to deadly weapons that could potentially wipe out humanity.

The novel offers insights into the dangers posed by the advancement of technology and the risks associated with human greed and ambition.

The story is told through the eyes of Rohit Singh, a news anchor, who, along with his co-anchor Priyanka Grover, reports on the unfolding crisis. The narrative is fast-paced, with suspense and humor intertwined, keeping the reader engaged until the very end.

The novel appears to be a rich canvas of human study, philosophical insights, and the paradox of existence that mankind faces. The author seems to bring out the two directions that technology can lead us to, one leading to a utopian society, and the other to total annihilation.

* Sanjay Mittal, who wrote it, is a master of his craft. To give the book a more authentic regional flavour, he used Hindi words. Also, he clarified the meaning of the Hindi words used in that paragraph.

* He did a tonne of research for this book. In very basic terms, the science of viruses, climate change, and how human clones can be created as well as the science of species evolution has been discussed. And he totally justified it!!

The author also notes the relevance of the book to current real-world events, such as the coronavirus pandemic and the threat of nuclear brinksmanship. The book seems to highlight the blurred line between good and evil and the obscure truth surrounding these issues.

Overall, the book seems to offer a warning of the dangers that humanity faces in the future and the need to make the right choices to ensure the survival of the species. The gripping preface and ominous warning laced with hope to mankind by Mother Nature are also mentioned as highlights of the book.

"2040: The Battle for Life" seems to be an excellent read for those interested in thought-provoking and thrilling stories that explore the potential consequences of humanity's actions.

This book is a surreal, soul stirring and suspenseful saga which entails a heartwarming love story as well. The story is inexplicably so gripping in itself that it will keep the readers hooked till the very end.

The saga is set in 2040's world in which lies an International Emergency where terrorists had nukes and bio terror viruses placed in over 30 cities worldwide. Carrying nerve wrecking caveats before the entire humankind this saga invokes an esoteric, and evocative musings and leaves behind several ifs in the minds after every flip.

Each chapter is so jaw-droppingly crafted having sense of caveat or somewhat some awakening reality, all the more, narrated very beautifully which fills heart with excitement and the characters sketching of Rohit Singh, Priyanka and Captain Vikram is equally superb.

As the story picks up and proceeds further, there are a lot of plot twists happening and even though it should have been very aggressive with the descriptions, all of it was narrated very calmly, like even when describing the chaotic or the passionate part.

The simplicity of the language with next level evocativeness, intensity and deftness in the storytelling will surely leave the readers agape and a room filled with prospective and creepling sense of caveats and excitements lies ahead for all of us.

These lines are somewhere down the line tells the story of future or so called next generation humankind and the challenges and opportunities before them symbolising a look into future technologies and a warning of dangers to the world.

I personally enjoyed reading this book and will recommend this book to everyone who loves to read suspense thriller. Overall, it is an entertaining package read per se. A must read, do give it a try!

Firstly, huge respect and great appreciation to the author Sanjay Mittal making such a series of masterpieces. Though the discussion of the story line in such a book where many surprises are waiting after turning the pages , I personally don't like. As it destroys the author's effort and spoiler is never a great experience for me. However the entire plot and story line based in the year 2040 ; story line revolves around Rohit a TV anchor and Priyanka mainly two protagonist had a great journey between them related to terrorism, love story and many more.
The novel brings about the two directions that technology can lead us to in the not so distant future. One leading to an Elysium and the other to total annihilation.

What I can assure that the author has beautifully narrated the whole story from the beginning and it's praiseworthy. The plot is well developed. It's an amazing thriller, it seems like an adventurous movie that will surely filled your heart.

What I was impressed with the most was the flow of the writing! Everything is gelled together seamlessly and I whizzed through the book in one sitting. This is a type of book which I can read whenever or wherever I am. The author's technique of raw, magnetic characters and great plotlines is a gift.

However, I found this quite soulful and engaging to keep the readers hooked and tempted towards the track and title of this book.Once you pick up, you can't put the book down! GEAB A COPY OF THIS BOOK TO EXPLORE MORE.

At its core, "2040: The Battle for Life" is a cautionary tale set in a future world where advanced technology poses a grave threat to humanity. The book's central theme is the struggle for survival in a world where unchecked technological progress has led to dire consequences. The book warns of the potential pitfalls of unregulated technological advancement. The novel also weaves in a compelling romantic thriller element, focusing on the characters' lives and relationships, adding depth and nuance to the story.

Like a saying that lessons learnt, if forgotten, will create more wrath, it is apparent that we humans have not learnt our lessons even after the COVID-19 attack on the world. This is showcased in an augmented way through the protagonist, Rohit, who experienced the Covid pandemic at twelve. He is also troubled that humanity has not learned its lesson from the pandemic. The desire for power and control over others has driven humankind to extinction. The book offers a stark warning about the potential consequences of our collective actions if lessons are not learnt from the mistakes of the past.

The story takes off when a nuclear bomb hits a small African country. Even though the destruction is far away, India becomes concerned about the possibility of a similar attack on their soil. In the year 2040, India is depicted as one of the world's superpowers, and as such, it is its responsibility to confront any issue that could put humanity in danger. Following the nuclear explosion, Rohit and his team at the MwM channel immediately begin extensive coverage of the event, highlighting the global impact of the attack and the need for action. The story thus unfolds, with the characters grappling with the enormity of the crisis and the daunting task of saving humanity from its imminent demise.

"2040: The Battle for Life" presents a plausible scenario where life faces grave danger, but the author skillfully satisfyingly resolves the crisis. The book's language is simple and easy to follow, making it accessible to many readers. The narrative is engaging and almost surreal, vividly portraying the events, which feels realistic and compelling. Regardless, the novel's strengths lie in its gripping storyline, well-drawn characters, and thought-provoking themes; some readers may find using a mix of English and Hindi languages during the characters' conversations to be a bit jarring. However, the overall impact of this linguistic mix on the story may vary from reader to reader. For those who are comfortable with using multiple languages, this may add to the book's charm and appeal, while for others, it may be a minor distraction.

Finally, Sanjay Mittal has crafted a captivating and thrilling novel that will leave a lasting impression on readers. With its well-drawn characters, thought-provoking themes, and engaging narrative style, "2040: The Battle for Life" is a must-read for fans of futuristic thrillers and those interested in exploring the impact of technology on humanity.

If one wants to know what can happen if mankind isn’t careful enough with its obsession for technological advancements, one must acquaint themself with this book.
It is 2040, and once again alike 2020 when the Covid Pandemic hit the world, humanity once again finds itself drawn to a catastrophic end. An unthinkable tragedy unfolds as a nuclear bomb devastates a small African nation. The ripples of this catastrophic event reach far and wide, and amidst the chaos, India emerges as a formidable force, shouldering the weight of safeguarding humanity. The story is narrated from the point of view of Rohit Singh, a young and influential news anchor at MwM channel, his co-anchor, Priyanka Grover, and Colonel Vikram, an officer of the Indian Security Guard. Through the eyes of Rohit Singh and Priyanka Grover, we witness the power of responsible journalism, inspiring a nation to face its vulnerabilities head-on.
A fast-paced narrative paired with unprecedented twists and turns makes this for an entertaining read. The language makes it yet easier to soak into the aura of the mood; which is pretty captivating for most part. What could throw one off easily however, is the usage of Hindi jargons that don’t seem to create the exact effect as envisioned by the author but do their job satisfyingly in keeping readers of the Hindi language glued, nonetheless. At 258 pages, the book feels tad long as the author could have done well to keep the length of Rohit’s musings crisper and less introspective. Nevertheless, the writing flows seamlessly and depicts the author’s meticulous thinking on the subject matter and the reality-induced thrill will enchant many a readers for sure.
Mittal's literary prowess lies in his ability to simplify complex concepts, enabling readers of diverse backgrounds to engage with his work. The meticulously crafted events draw readers into a realm where the stakes are high and emotions run deep. With the help of his characters, he skillfully resolves the crisis that plagues humanity. and that satisfies the readers' yearning for a solution.
Finally, what’s left behind is this thought - that the passion for doing good laced with the grit to get to the truth no matter what, the courage to face challenges, and working together as a team for the ultimate goal is what might yet help mankind tackle dystopian catastrophes better.

The story "2040: The battle for life" gives us a glimpse of the future world and its advanced technologies invented by human beings. And also shared the effects of such technologies on the world with readers.
The novel follows the story of Rohit Singh, news anchor of MWM channel and Priyanka Grover, a co-anchor of MWM channel. They are covering the news of the world's International Emergency mode - terrorists had nukes and bie terror viruses placed in over 30 cities worldwide, including India. The situation of humanity is really critical and under threat, the terrorists are determined to clear impure people from the world.
Author Sanjay Mittal, showed us an example of the terror caused by technology and the question about the survival of human society through his work. If we didn't learn the lessons from the pandemic COVID-19, then one day this story plot will become our reality. The desire of power and control of nature and over others will become a threat to human existence.
This story carries an important message about the threats that will be caused by the desire for power and human ambition. Also, the importance of responsible use of technology shared in this book.
Apart from this, the story is also a love story. This is a story you must read to know what your own future and world may become if we didn't learn lessons from our pasts. It is also very admirable how the author skilfully shifts the theme of the story from science and technology to love.
Personal Insight:-

Good one.

then 2040 happened. That cold day of December 2040 was the day where it all began…

Writing a story that is based on nothing but a future is a big task. Everything is imaginary with the hint of reality that we are seeking slowly with time. The story is about Rohit Singh, who is news channel anchor along with Priyanka Grover, who is reporting the news. The chains of events happens making us dwell on a various subjects such as love, life, religion, science and many more. There are detailed chapters on why covid was spread by the character called Scientist Dr. Kutty. As the story proceeds he also explains the climate changing effects and how technologies are developing speedily in future. Together with Vikram Colonel, Rohit forms an operation called Bharat tayyar hai and found the victory over mankind, religion and many more. That lines which got me was “We are the only planet with the conditions to create and support life… we need to protect that. We all have to ensure that life must live on this planet so that our future generations can live here…”

Sanjay Mittal has written a fast-paced story which will grip you to the final page. Futuristic fiction is a genre which is not much practiced in India. Science fiction even less so. Yet to write this story totally based on future with the technologies that are speedily changing. And how it's effecting humans in many way. To have the pursuit of future mindset. Surely it was a great idea. And to keep up with that till the end of the book was magnificent. The efforts were priceless. I really appreciate the author and his efforts.

2040: The Battle for Life by Sanjay Mittal is an interesting novel that intrinsically explores the self-destruction traits of the human race. The protagonist Rohit is a news anchor, runs a news media channel – MwM. Since the lead guy is a newsperson, the novel has optimum scope of philosophical debate on a gamut of topics. However, the broad theme of the novel dives in the issues related to nuclear and bio terror crises. The technology has been advanced to an extent that even small countries, rich terror outfits have access to nukes and bio weapons. Rohit was twelve years old when the Covid pandemic devastated the world. But his concern is that the humanity didn’t learn its lesson from it.

The story picks up momentum when a nuke is dropped on a small African country. Indian leadership worried what if it comes to them sooner or later. Soon after the nuclear explosion, Rohit and his team begin covering up it extensively. The team pragmatically captures the mood of the nation on nukes.

As a news media profession Rohit is different, he takes up the challenge to dig out the roots of terrorists that can possibly attack on India. And how did he do that is another story. It’s a moving lively story. Characters are actively participating, they are judged, compelled, yet have to perform for the sake of humanity. The novel has slightly romantic skeins as well. Sanjay’s storytelling is backed by superb narration, he takes us in future and shows how could our humanity and world look like in 2040.

I was looking for an unique book and then my friend suggested this book. I cannot thank her enough because I had an amazing time reading this book.

When I read the blurb of the book I got a hint that this book is going to be an amazing one.

The story is set in 2040. I felt like I was time travelling while reading the book.

Author Sanjay Mittal did an excellent job in writing this book. Romance action and suspense —this book is a perfect blend of these three.

Without giving any spoiler let me briefly tell you about the super interesting plot .

In future terrorist possess nuclear weapons which are deadly and those can destroy the humanity. Rohit Singh is a news anchor and through his eyes we are witnessing the story. Priyanka Grover, Rohit's co-anchor is another important character in this story.

The book is talking about a world where technology is really upgraded but is it worthy?
Grab the book to know more.

A strong message is given through this fictional story, let me quotes some lines from the book-

"But in case you create conditions which damage me extensively I will just toss you away.
And then give birth to another species to replace you.
For I am the Earth.
The eternal mother."

From this lines you can understand the beauty of this book.

Lastly I cannot help but appreciate the editor of the book for the amazing eye catchy book cover and the title also going really perfectly with the content of the book.

If you are looking for an amazing read then without any doubt go for this book.

A classic of modern times

The novel 2040, The Battle of Life starts with a strong recommendation from Lord Meghnad Desai in his foreword who compares Sanjay Mittal with big novelists like Jules Verne.

As I read I realised that it was quite correct. Big issues of life are taken up in the most simple and lucid language. The main protagonists Rohit Singh and Priyanka Grover are both news anchors for the top news channel MwM. There is some romantic attraction between them but Rohit Singh is also attracted to his ex wife. So some suspense.

An authentic setting of a world and countries clashing with each other is created. Like today, it is NATO vs Russia and China. In 2040 it may be... ( I won't disclose this !)

The book starts with a powerful poem which the earth recites, reminding us why it created life. And ends with the Earth reciting another poem. A very powerful poem

That itself will give you the message of a life time.

Yet there is just so much more. Top scientists like Dr Kutty and Dr Sayles who explain how and why Covid 19 was created. Again a true revelation which you won't get from normal media.

Rohit Singh works relentlessly with Priyanka exploring how life can disappear from Earth. Again a stunning punch in the story

How India fights the biggest terror attack is also a taut thriller which kept me awake.

In short I rank this as among the top 10 books I have read in my life. Worth more than 5 star.

Worth keeping in your library for long and re reading

The technological growth in the last 10 to 15 years is very high. To be very honest, the world has undergone a lot of technological advancements in recent times.

Some of these advancements even let us feel astonished. But, do these technologies pave a way for a positive environment ? What would be there on the other side of the coin? Do we really think about the negative side of these enhancements?

This book, 2040: The Battle for Life written by Sanjay Mittal is set in a future dystopian world. The story actually focuses on how the people would suffer for survival because of the consequences of giant technological progress which remains unchecked. The story actually follows both the personal and professional life of Rohit and Priyanka. They provide reports on the bio viruses placed by the terrorists in India. The story thus provides a mixture of compelling elements like suspense, thrill and romance.

The narration style is very perfect and takes the readers on an exciting yet fearful and adventurous journey to the future. The author's writing style is perfect. The way the author has delivered the story makes it very interesting for the readers. Usage of local language could have been avoided, because the people who aren't used to that local or native language would find it a bit difficult. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed each and every element of this book and I highly recommend it to my fellow readers as well.

Sanjay Mittal's, "2040: The Battle For Life" is an engaging and thrilling read that is a perfect blend of romance, action, and suspense. The story is set in a dystopian future where terrorists possess nuclear weapons and bioterrorism is rampant. The book follows Rohit Singh, a news anchor, and his co-anchor Priyanka Grover as they report on a worldwide crisis caused by terrorists who have placed nukes and bio-terror viruses in India.

Author's writing style is easy to read and engaging, and the story maintains its suspense throughout. The book delves into issues that confront the world today and may come to the fore with greater force in the future, such as the possibility of terrorists having access to bioterrorism and nuclear technology. It also explores the possibilities of gene technology and climate change.

The characters are well-developed and relatable, which makes the reader invested in their story. The romantic subplot adds a layer of complexity to the tale, and the futuristic technologies and concepts add an element of excitement and intrigue.

Lord Meghnad's foreword is particularly thought-provoking, and it highlights the book's underlying message - what purpose could possibly justify the destruction of all life? Overall, "2040: The Battle for Life" is a well-crafted and insightful story that is both enjoyable and thought-provoking. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys dystopian fiction.

What makes a story interesting? It's the characters and world building, and trust  me when i say this. This book is absolutely brilliant in both ! In this modern world the technology is helping humankind to reach new heights. Though there are other aspects of this technology that are helping people to create chaos in others lives. Such people are known as terrorists if they have enough hate in their mind and heart for other humans.

The story is set in 2040 and falls in the category of romantic thrillers. The book is quite serious with its tone as it revolves around the threats of nukes and bio weapons and the danger that lies between them in this futuristic world. The story is anchored by  Rohit Singh & co-anchored Priyanka Grover. The chemistry between them is lovely but doesn't overshadow the real plot of the story. The humour is good and have a kind of romantic flavour to it.

These terrorists  have placed bio terror vials & nukes around 30 cities around the world. This modern world war, and the way terrorists handle the bio weapons and the consequences led by the disasters are breathtaking. As we ourselves have lived the COVID 19 age and we know what a pandemic can cause to a human civilization, imagine a similar threat but by the hands of some people who want to destroy the human kind.
