For centuries, the world has been ruled in secret by a conspiracy of alien gods, seeking to harvest the souls of humanity for sustenance. They had wielded both the Holy Church and the Demon King freely, perpetuating strife between humans and magic beasts for their own twisted ends. But something has gone wrong. A girl, powerful enough to challenge the gods themselves, has been thwarting their plans one after another, assembling a team of powerful beings and even founding a new religion, threatening to steal their much-needed faith! Who is Kanata Aldezia, and what does she want? What passion or principle could have driven her to obtain such strength?
The answer, of course, is simple—the fluff! Kanata doesn’t care for power one way or another, and she certainly has no intention of thwarting the gods’ wicked designs. She’s happy as long as she has fluffy critters to pet, and with Zaggy and Fen-fen now in the party, she’s on a keen lookout for a third. Maybe in that ruined castle?
3/5 Another fluffy isekai light novel. Silly fun without a deep plot or much adversity at all. The lead Kanata is a typical powerhouse reincarnation character. She continues her quest to find more furry friends for her Beast Tamer profession. The cast is fun albeit a little too syrupy and the antagonists are always just one shotted gags. It’s not something I could read steadily but here and there it’s enjoyable.
This time around Kanata recruits a powerful ancient vampire who turns into a fluffy pink bat. A temple knight who is infatuated with Elizavett the vampire swears to take her back from Kanata and starts a battle with Kanata and her family.
Warning for new readers to the series, spoiler alert! I'm sure we all understood that Kanata was a saint just from the title, but it's now confirmed that she's THE Saint. This battle with the gods is sure to be epically hilarious as our OP fluff lover continues on her misunderstood quest. I also enjoyed the background on the usurper gods. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Usurper Gods vs Kanata. Honestly I should’ve suspected that Kanata was the First Saint reincarnation, but I brushed that theory aside thinking that Fen-fen wanted to justify his approach to Kanata. Can’t wait to see what will happen in the upcoming volumes
