Claire:
I may be safe on a space station now, but the scar on my face is a constant reminder of how quickly that can change. I hide away in my living quarters because it's the only place I feel safe. My new boss is doing everything he can to make me feel comfortable working with him, but do I dare trust him? I'm determined never to be a victim again, but when I see my friend is in trouble I have to face my fears to save her.

Drannon:
Claire has survived so much in this galaxy. The scar on her face is proof of that. She finds herself ugly, but I've never met a more beautiful creature in my entire existence. I'm determined to make her feel safe working with me while also remaining professional, which proves difficult when her scent draws me in and her smile raises a protective urge within me that I've never experienced before.

Arc Review

I have a constant smile on my face when I read these books. From the dedication to the last page, this book made me feel so seen. This book was dedicated to all trauma survivors who have found or are still searching for their joy. I’ve been pretty vocal about being a trauma survivor as well as having a condition that effects my face visibly, as the MFC Claire has a scar on her face, and omg when I say I felt so seen reading both MC’s stories!? I FEEL SO SEEN.

Claire is working in this new world as a mechanic. She is trying to start over, but is struggling with feeling very unsafe from her abduction, as well as struggling with the scars both physical and mental left over.
In a society that looks down on physical imperfections, Dran is also an outcast with his prosthetic robotic legs and scars, though he has had longer to process.

Dran is a big goofy sweetheart with a heart of gold, and he is infatuated with this tiny human who constantly wears a hood. Claire doesn’t trust easy, but her new boss/co-worker is slowly breaking down her walls, and helping her see how beautiful she truly is. These two outcasts slowly heal each other through compassion, friendship, and eventually- love.

Claire and Dran are so fucking cute and sweet and awkward and quirky, gahh I want to keep them in my pocket for ever they are so freaking cute. Both Claire and Dran have had a traumatic past, and are at various points of healing a processing. Each help heal each other in different ways, and it was just so cathartic to read and experience their journey 🥹. This one was a slow burn, and a bit lower on the spice (the first real kiss doesn’t happen until around 50%), but I very much enjoy a slower burn. This book is low stress, just a bunch of yummy feel goods and a great comfort read. Dran brings the pleasure dom energy and gah I love them so hard!

This series just keeps getting better and better! Lunar Joy is my absolute favorite so far. I immediately fell in love with Drannon and Claire’s story! This gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!

Claire is one of the women who was abducted along with Anna, Maggie, and Madeline. Unfortunately, she was woken up before they were rescued and in her fight with her abductors, they scarred her face with a stun baton. This leaves her feeling very self conscious and she hides her face away.

Since she was a hacker/programmer back on earth, she chooses to become a mechanic since most space ships run off software. The final step in her training is to serve as an apprentice. Drannon is working undercover as a mechanic and hires Claire.

He instantly feels drawn to her in a way he can’t explain. He sees his past self in her and wants to help her. Having prosthetic legs, he knows the burden she carries and why she wants to hide away. Drannon is determined to show her how amazing and beautiful she is.

Together they embark on a journey of love and self discovery. They also get deeper into the rebellion and help out some friends along the way!

This series is truly amazing and has become one of my favorites. I felt so much emotion watching Drannon help Claire out of her shell. He used his own experience as an amputee to help her see she’s more than just her scars… she’s a survivor and should embrace that. Drannon is such a sweetheart! A goofball at heart who makes it his mission to make Claire laugh. And the tattoo at the end 😭😭😭.

LUNAR JOY (LUNAR SERIES #3) | CRYSTAL ROSE

★★★★

CLAIRE ♡ DRANNON

❝I was flirting with my apprentice. Thump, thump, thump. There went my tail again.❞

❝There was something so tantalizing about openly talking about our mutual spying. I liked it. A lot.❞

❝I kissed you because I wanted to because kissing you is the greatest joy I’ve ever experienced in my life.❞

❝I don’t want to be with anyone else but you. You’re everything to me. Your smiles, your laugh, your quick wit, and your smart brain. I want all of you, every day, every minute of the day if possible.❞

❝Claire was like a late summer flower: she might have taken a long time to bloom, but goddess was she was beautiful when she did.❞

❝Mine. Claire was mine and I was hers, now and for the rest of our days.❞

❝I turned to the entryway and saw Dran beaming at me with pride. My heart fluttered ... He was my shining light in this grim universe.❞

Thank you Crystal Rose for the ARC opportunity.

I have loved the previous in the series, and couldn't wait to read this one, and this book didn't disappoint.

This book was so cute and sweet, and still talked about important topics and had representation.

I loved the way both the MMCs connected with each other from the start, although it took them time to open up to each other.

The way the Drannon is protective from the start was just Chief's Kiss 🤌.  He is such a Cinnamon Roll — I like him so much, the way his small acts was consistent, he really is a teddy bear. I liked the way he is, even with going through so much.

I really like the recovery, healing journey that Claire was on, how she developed. I love the developments she went through, the difference between who she was in the starting of the book and who she became in the future.

I love the way their relationship progressed, I was giggling and fangirling over them. I can't wait to read more books in the series.

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to ARC read this beautiful story, and I’m so glad I did!

This was such a sweet story! It might be my favorite so far in the Lunar series; I am so in love with how much care Dran took to make sure Claire was comfortable and secure with their relationship-with his silly pictures and then by adjusting their initial power imbalance. And we got to delve further into the rebellion! AAAHHHH I can't wait to see what we get to learn in the next one!

My favorite quote for this one was: Up until this point, I'd never considered the possibility that there would come a day when I didn't hate my face, but working with Dran and seeing how he'd grown to like himself despite his injuries made me realize that maybe I could grow to like myself, too.

I am 100% a sucker for stories that involve a character working through their trauma and learning to love and accept the them that has come out on the other side of it all-it's got to be in my top 5 favorite tropes. I loved the sweetness and the romance in this story (Dran was just the BEST), but I think I loved Claire's journey of finding herself and realizing that she is strong and worthy and beautiful even more.

Can’t wait to see what the next installment brings!

Another amazing story from Crystal. I absolutely adored this book and the characters, human Claire and Surrett Drannon. The plot was fast paced and action packed. The building of the characters and their relationship was a slow burn but so worth the wait. Drannon was so sweet (He might be my favorite Surrett male I've read so far) and Claire was so brave. She would do anything for her man and her character arc was so beautiful to read. I love that they complimented each other so well.

Enjoyable sci fi romance

The story is fun, and the characters are interesting, especially the Vorst with their companions. Joy has a lot of sex scenes and a few trigger warning. I'm looking forward to Madeline's story.

The best yet!!

I have loved all three of these books now and cannot wait for the next one.
Dran is the most wonderful cinnamon roll you could ever hope to meet, and Claire is a complete badass in her own right. Both characters have been through it to get to where they are now, but they don't let it stop them from finding, loving, and helping each other to grow exponentially.
I loved this book, as I have the 2 before it. The story is engaging, the characters are believable, lovable and make you root for them from start to finish. The world building is second to none and really makes you believe you're right there watching it all happen.

Go and read this series, love the characters within and pass on the love and get others to read. Everyone needs some loving aliens in their lives and we need to spread the love.
