Overall, this story was underdeveloped, boring and never passed the surface level on anything. The characters were a little whinny and boring to me and they didn’t do anything but have sex. I’m all for spicy books but I like for there to be some sort of connection outside of the physical before we get to the heart-eyes stage. Even when they did talk, the dialog just didn’t work for me. He also got around a lot before meeting her which doesn’t bother me until he whipped out a dildo from under his pillow he’s used with countless of other women before her. No thank you. He’s a prince, he can afford to buy new toys.
Normally I would put this under a spoiler but considering it could have been completely left out and not a single thing would have changed from the story, leads me to think it doesn’t count as a spoiler but a fair warning some may need. This is about grey area cheating so if you don’t care about that then just skip this paragraph. So the MMC’s brother’s mate, Kate, came to Brayden and asked him to have sex with her so she can get pregnant. The reasoning behind it in itself isn’t the most logical and considering the odds of her actually getting pregnant are extremely slim (they literally say you can only have a baby with your mate but I guess they forgot about that or had some sort of really far stretch to explain this exception?) makes this whole plan dumb, especially since the brother had a plan already. They know of the brothers plan too but still decide to go through with their own. The fact that he was going to do this behind his brother’s back wasn’t even the worst part. It was that he was already in a relationship with Willow at the time. He already had deep feelings for her and was going to just have sex with Kate, impregnate her, then go back to Willow as if nothing happened? He wasn’t just slightly considering it either, they were naked in bed together… he was hard… it went way further than acceptable. They don’t go through with it but then it’s never mentioned again. What was the point of this plot? Willow never finds out, and he’s back to having sex with her within the hour of the whole thing with Kate. I hate above all else in romance books cheating and this counts to me especially since he never mentions it to her. He does talk about how he feels sick going through with it and doesn’t want to do it at all but he still almost does. Oh don’t worry, he can’t help it if he got a boner so quickly with Kate, he is just a man after all. I’m sorry but if I were betraying my brother and the love of my life like this, I would need 20 bottles of wine and all the blue pills in the world to get it up. Everything about this made me so angry and I completely checked out from caring after this point.
The first part of the book is so slow then once they get to the second part (which actually needed to be slower to get all the points across properly) it’s so rushed. so much happened in the last 100 pages or so that it really felt like I was just getting bullet points of information thrown at me. I also loath when authors use the final chapter to set up their next book rather than giving us a good enough HEA or even a HFN of the characters we’ve just invested 350 pages on. It stops so abruptly in Willow and Brayden’s story that I thought I missed a chapter, or five. I needed more on their relationship afterwards. There’s still so many questions and things that need to be talked about and seeing it through another couple’s book won’t cut it.
I didn’t mean to go on a rant but it’s 5 am and I’m sad I missed precious sleeping hours over hate-finishing this book. I just wanted to get to the part where Willow finds out about the Kate thing but it never happened. Three stars minus one for the Kate thing and minus one for everything else.
If you like reading J R Ward, then you will love this new author! This is an easy, funny, steamy, vampire book which you won't be able to put down! Bad Ass Vampire Brayden & fiesty Willow will leave you gasping! Smooth writing, steamy scenes, action & an on going storyline with a HEA. although there will be a book 3 which I anticipate will be just as good.
Wow, wow, wow.. get ready for an incredible ride .. the ending will keep you wanting more.. it’s a very steamy love story but read the backstory first., (The Vampire King) so you understand this family and their history. Can’t wait for Book 3 to be published.
I normally adore vampire stories. After reading the novella, I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into this one (see what I did there?). Unfortunately while I understood what the author may have been going for, this didn’t really work for me.
Willow meets Brayden and he ends up at her home after knowing her for an instant. There were a LOT of setups to lead our two main characters into many, many sex scenes. I love a sex scene, especially when it enhances the storyline. For me, these scenes were too over the top and I got pretty bored with them. To me, they didn’t enhance the storyline, didn’t help me see the 2 main characters falling for each other. It was just gratuitous screwing. Gratuitous screwing is fine sometimes in erotica, but I wanted more storyline and plot.
I’m not sure I’ll continue onto the next book in the series. I’ll have to think on it.
Another one where I’m in the minority on my thoughts.
I have to start by saying the Kindle edition that I read had a different cover. The edition I read was book one of fourteen, and I believe it was free.
What I liked: Even though Brayden and Willow are fated mates, there was still intrigue. Loved how Brayden brought Willow into his world and gave her a choice to decide.
Disliked a couple of incidents that didn't make sense to me: 1) The queens kidnapping 2) The healing of Willow's injury. Maybe I missed some details and need to reread the book. Enjoyable read for me, and I plan to read more books from the series.
I was really in the mood for a spicy vampire book, but this was just ok.
Rating: 3.3ish ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ short and not as descriptive in some scenes Tropes: fated mates, vampires, mine
I’m having trouble rating this because parts of the book were good, but the negatives were glaring. I thought the story was interesting. I liked the possessive/mine vibes from the MMC.
I hated the third POV. It works for Suzanne Wright and that’s about it. I almost DNFed it to be honest. The pacing was also really weird as the author spent a lot of time on inconsequential story lines. There was a lot of world building, but I think some of those details could have been left out. The ending was too quick and anticlimactic. And I thought the FMC was a little annoying
A book that will draw you in quickly and keep you guessing the outcome. It's hot, steamy, intriguing and a world I enjoyed getting lost in. So ready for the next book!
Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! I love a good vampire romance, with insta love and mates and people making absolutely stupid decisions, and action and danger and MORE dumb decisions. It's just the best. Perfect!
To be fair, there were a couple of errors in the text, but it makes no difference to the likability.
I liked this book a lot. It started a bit slow but once it took off, it was hard to put down. Reading the prequel helped speed things up I think and know a lil back story. Very enjoyable vampire read!
Okay, Juliet's Banks is officially a one-click author for me now. I cannot tell you how much I love this series! The Vampire Prince focuses on Brayden and Willow's relationship and I LOVE them. If you love a sexy alpha male, a strong female character, and a whole lot of chemistry, then you have got to read this book! There is plenty of steam here and the will-they-won't-they factor is set up perfectly. While Brayden and Willow try to figure out exactly what their relationship is, Brayden also has to deal with the Vampire politics of the royal family. I don't want to give anything away but I cannot recommend this book enough, it was even better than The Vampire King. I can't wait for book three!
So I had high expectations for this book. What I got was a book that I honestly thought was written as a guy with a woman's pen name. The dialogue was laughably awful and full of cringe at points. The characters were not believable to be with some of the dialogue that was said along with some of the reactions, which there is no female would ever use in those situations. Just not believable. Now I do enjoy a good sex scene but there was just so many and didn't really go with the storyline. Did I mention there is A LOT of sex scenes. Honestly every time I would come across another one in my head I would hear Monty Python's Get On With It in my head, and I would quickly skim to get on with the story. The storyline has potential but I will not be continuing on.
Missing star is because it's too short! I loved this book! Vampire intrigue, steamy scenes, and well rounded main and side characters. As well as a nice over arching storyline that will make you salivate for the next in the series which is tentatively due out in July 2021. Do yourself a favor and pack this book for your steamy vacation novel.
DNF’ed at 64% and would’ve DNF’ed earlier than that if I wasn’t so determined to make this work for a challenge I’m doing. But I just can’t.
It’s written like a Wattpad story (one of the bad ones) (grammar mistakes, redundancy after redundancy, characters having conversations that go one way but ends with the H/h concluding something off the wall with subsequent conversations going absolutely fucking nowhere, and an overwhelmingly amount of describing rather than showing). It was just getting too silly and I couldn’t do it anymore.
I love the vampire lore that Juliette N. Banks crafted for this fantastic Paranormal Romance series! I was gripped by the hierarchy created for this royal family, and how the whole mate bond works. This book had perfect amounts of spice and action and it had me instantly ready to read Craig and Bri's story!
Nope nope nope nope absolutely nope. If she's said no, asked you to leave repeatedly, there's nothing hot or romantic about convincing and manipulating her into saying yes. Absolutely not. Nope. Nope. Nope.
The world is interesting The plot is weak Smut is on point.
I wanted to rate it a 2.5, but since I can't, I bumped it up due to the spice level. I will be keeping this series in mind for when I am in the mood for a start to finish a smut book.
Loved the book, Willow and Brayden story is amazing and I fell in love with them. Lots os steamy scenes amazingly written ☺️ Juliette please be quick to bring Craig’s story 😍
I purchased this e-book on a Thursday. The lie I told myself was that I’ll save it for the weekend because I know I’m going to get sucked in. Well if I needed any more proof that I have trouble setting boundaries and no self control this was it. Because I QUICKLY got sucked in to this book and 8pm turned in to 2am.
Brayden and Willow’s story had such a beautiful flow to it. And holy crap their chemistry was super intense!! And Brayden, of the two brothers, is now my favorite! I love a book that pulls at your emotions while also having some steamy fun and humor. This is the kind of book you want to take your time to savor the story. My only warning to others is they should pay attention and start putting this Indie author on their watch list. They’ll regret it if they don’t.
Now I have to figure out what to read next in order to fill this book-sized hole left after this book ended.
This second story was riveting to say the least. The prince finds his mate and she’s human. There are some laughs with this one. There’s sorrow, chemistry, heat, suspense and some twists I didn’t see coming. Can’t wait to read Craig’s story!
I'm hooked on these books. I just really enjoy reading these stories. So entertaining, never straightforward. Can't wait to read about Craig and Lance. definitely would recommend
And I thought the first book was good. This book is about Brayden. His brother Vincent the king also plays a role in this book, but as he married Kate who is the queen, this book centers around Brayden and how he finds his mate, tries to deny it, and then tries to figure out how he’s going to tell her he’s a vampire. Willow is a human, of course she doesn’t realize there’s anything other than human, but she meets Brayden and has feelings for him she can’t figure out, they are more than feelings but she knows she has to spend time with him. As king, Vincent had given Brayden one week with Willow. Then it is time to go home. The king has been feeling ill, which is something vampires are not supposed to feel. They are away from home trying to find an answer but now it’s time to go home. The relationship between Braden and Willow is steamy, funny, emotional, and a great love story. But now Brayden must tell her the truth and risk losing his love forever. Now knowing what has been going on with the king there is so much to worry about. The throne is in danger, and Willow needs to make a decision quick. Such a good book I can’t wait for the next one.
Wow what a read, this book has so much going on it’s packed with a fantastic story and plot. The characters are great. Between Vincent and Brayden it’s jam packed full of love, sex, loyalty and so much more. This read is angst filled for various reasons but you will not be disappointed by this series. I highly recommend.
Blood brothers story the book is about the the Prince. Royal Prince who finds love with a human and explains he wants what her as his wife. He wants to change her into a vampire, they go trouble going through the issues as she tries coming to terms with dying. Great story
