(There is a spoiler in this review) I have rarely enjoyed a book so much but been so disappointed in the ending. We've got a serial killer about to kill another victim (a victim we have real sympathy for) and an FBI agent (Jade knows that Jeanie is alive and in danger) not only getting a shower before she saves the day but also stops on the way to have a breakfast sandwich? Maybe I read it wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened right before the exciting climax. Too bad too, because I loved it for the first 80% of the book. Maybe someone that read it and loved it can tell me the error of my ways.

I was looking forward to a good read, but about halfway through the book, the main character did something that was stupid and unbelievable; however, I pushed on. And then when I got 85% of the way through the book, another completely unbelievable action with the main character is told. At that point, I just wanted to finish the book as quickly as I could. My bottom line is that although this main character could have been interesting, the author's storytelling ability is mediocre at best.

I was enjoying the plot, but the FBI agent made a totally stupid, illogical and unthinkable decision, so I made the decision to DNF this book on page 140. Scribd.com's English text, and translation for Portuguese + audio in English from Google Translate. Continuing the Project Learning English by myself.

The character development was weak and the author did more telling than showing. The main character, a new FBI agent is given way too much leeway and privilege for someone trying to prove herself. She comes off as a 'know-it-all' and it doesn't work for me. The author left many opportunities on the table that could have enhanced the reader's pleasure. And the ending was a total bust. Even after going against protocol, the MC is given the lead after she goes home to shower and freshen up before trying to save a woman that is in grave danger and then when it comes down to the finale, well, I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't say what happens. But if I were the director of the FBI, heads would roll, starting with the SSA that gave the newbie so much leeway.

I liked this but the ending felt rather implausible. It just didn't seem that Jade could go through all that and NOT go to the hospital after. I did like the writing though it felt draggy in the middle at points. Overall this wasn't bad but definitely didn't wow me. May continue with the series, may not. I don't know. Actual rating 3.5 ⭐ rounded up.

This is another fabulous read I came across that was offered as a freebie on Kindle Australia for a short period.
Wonderfully written with interesting characters, and even though we knew who the killer was from the outset this did not detract from the suspense of the plot.
Without giving away any spoilers, the theme of the book is vengeance. It was an enticing read, although I'm not sold on the character of Jade Munroe. At this point in time she comes across as a bit abrasive and a know it all. Recommended reading.

Disappointing
Was looking forward to this but found it difficult to put any credence to the story. Just can't imagine a new recruit FBI Agent taking over in a case like the one involved

Sutter's portrayal of her characters and how they intertwine with each other throughout this Book. Snapped is well-written and researched by C. M. Sutter. I like C. M. Sutter's description of the settings of Snapped, which allowed me to imagine being part of the Book's plot.

Ok I liked the series that came before this but I’m totally second guessing myself now. This book is a travesty. Where to start. Brand new FBI agent sent to another territory and immediately starts telling seasoned agents how to do their job, “This isn’t my first rodeo”. Bitch has been with the FBI less than a week. Then let’s talk about a brand new agent allowed out on their own. So, here I am in a strange town, no one knows where I am, cell phone service non existent; I know! I’ll go to the house of the suspected serial killer! Oh good, she’s home! She totally won’t know I’m stealing something from her yard! Ooops. Many bearings and druggings later it takes us just one hour to recuperate! Then we are allowed to lead the home invasion of the killer! Then we screw up and let the last two people be killed! And we are golden. Nope, done with this. Finding a new series

This was just an ok read. I enjoyed the story but I felt it lacked detail. There was no depth to the story. There was so much information I would have liked to have read about characters and situations but they seemed to be glossed over. Even at the end when faced with her having to explain a 'career ending decision ' it was almost dismissed. This was not believable to me. She was kidnapped, two people died one could say directly due her actions and yet there was nothing.....
She showed very little empathy towards the victims, she took her time going back to work showering and eating.
As a retired Detective I found her actions to be unforgivable. I would not have wanted a partner with the same character traits. Not a likeable character.

The characters in this novel are interesting and the over-all plot was well thought out. Unfortunately, CM Sutter managed to let things get away and many of the actions were unbelievable. The characters stopped for food or breaks just when they should have been ignoring their own comforts and pursuing active leads. Also, at the end of the book, the EMTs leave the fatally wounded suspect is in the back of the ambulance with the FBI agent and no one to attempt to save her life. I can overlook minor procedural errors; however, not when such errors could've been avoided by a little research and/or common sense.

I was enjoying reading the first half of Snapped but then the author went for a visit to fantasyland. A little research would have given the story reality. Anyone with any common sense would have found the actions of Jade, as a new FBI agent, hard to believe. Approaching the ending, Jade takes time to get cleaned up and get breakfast before she insists on taking the lead in catching the killer. Really? Really? The second half of the book destroyed what could have been an enjoyable read. C. M. Sutter must have been in a hurry to finish this book. I might try another book by this author but not anytime soon.

An OK read but not particularly believable
This is my first Jade Monroe book, so I didn't have background into her character, but as a brand new FBI agent she comes across as a real know it all. I doubt that other agents would put up with her attitude. I didn't like knowing who the perpetrator was and the crimes smacked of overkill. There's no way an injured agent who had been kidnapped, drugged and assaulted for 2 days would be leading the charge against the killer at the end. The death of the final 2 victims would not be considered a successful outcome either.

The first half of this book was ok. Jade seems somewhat unbelievable however because of the flexibility and respect given a rookie FBI agent.
But starting with Jade’s decision to visit the home of a suspect at night, alone & without informing any of her team, this book goes downhill fast. The end is unbelievably bad. Jade shoots the cinder block in the suspect’s hands but then the suspect picks up a gun and shoots each victim! How can that happen with all those agents in the room. If Jade had shot the suspect , the last two victims would be alive.

Another one that will keep you reading--will they catch the person who is committing murders? Tou will know who is doing it but not why until the end.

What made this killer finally snap--she is not your usual serial killer. I could almost sympathize with her-almost!! Who lives and who dies by the end of this novel--you will have to read this book to find out!!

3.5 stars! I expected more of this book. It had a great mystery but it needed more details. I believe that since this is the first book of the series, it should have more details about the FBI agents. But as my first book of this author, it wasn't that bad. I'll give it a shot and read the second book. Maybe it will get better, maybe it won't. We'll see...

This story takes place where I'm living right now, Houston TX. It's a some what believable story. As to the fact of what a mother would do for a child, but the extreme, is just that, extreme.

A good story
I have read the first book in the series of Jade Monroe, when she was a detective and really enjoyed the character story, I know I should finish that series and will, but this came on sale, so I got it. I liked the first book better, but this was still good.

The first in the next Jade Monroe series. She’s transitioned to the FBI chasing serial killers and the first one was something. Had a Criminal Minds vibe. Sutter does a nice job. Give her a try.

Loved this book! It is the 1st in a series but you do not have to read the rest. But this book absolutely made me want to read more of them!
