Remi How hard is it to go on my first adult vacation?
Broken sandal? Check. Overweight luggage? Check. Two gate changes and an overbooked flight? Check.
What else can go wrong?
When the most ruggedly handsome man I've ever seen comes to my rescue, offering to fly me to my event, I find myself hopping on his private jet. He's charming and inquisitive, though a bit tight-lipped when I try to get more out of him. Not one to think too much of a first meeting, I just relax and enjoy my vacation.
But it doesn't take me long for my luck to run out and realize it's too good to be true.
Tadhg You don't get to be where I am in life without a few bumps in the road, but as the second son of the O'Carroll Mafia family, it's all part of the territory.
When I see this blue-haired fairy for the first time, I figure she'll be a nice distraction for a short time. But as we spend time together—and as my enemies try to take her from me—my jagged heart begins to agree with my need to save her and make her mine.
Meeting her was a coincidence, but keeping her safe is one hundred percent my goal. I just hope she doesn't hate me when she finds out who I really am. Because the dark side of me isn't for the faint of heart.
Motorcycles, Mobsters, and Mayhem author event proudly presents The Mayhem Makers Series. These standalone novels are brought to you by several bestselling authors specializing in writing twisted chaos. You'll get all the bikers, mobsters, and dark romance your heart can handle.
Jessa Aarons was born and raised in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. She has had her nose buried in books for as long as she can remember. Her love of romance began when she “borrowed” her mom’s paperback Harlequin novels. After experiencing a life changing health issue, she had to leave the working world and dove back into books to help heal her soul. She would read anything that told a love story but still had grit and drama. Then she became a beta reader and personal assistant to another author. Jessa is the boss of her husband and their castle. He really is her prince. Thanks to his encouragement, Jessa started putting pen to paper and creating new imaginary worlds. She spends her free time reading, crafting, and cheering on her hometown football team.
This is my first book by these lovely authors but let me tell you it will definitely NOT be my last. Tadgh and Remi are so beautiful together. You quickly fall in love with these two and cheer them on the whole book. Tadgh is an assassin for his crime family. Second in command. Kills with the pull of a trigger. Remi is a born romantic who loves to read so much that she works in a book store and is heading to MMM23 and can't wait to get there. Chance meeting while waiting for a plane to take her to Houston and the rest is history. Loved the book. Hoping there will be more books in this series.
Tadhg sees a beautiful woman in need of a way to get to Texas, he has a private jet at his disposal and offers it. He doesn't plan to see her again, but something about the blue haired beauty has made her unforgettable. Can these two polar opposites come together and find their happily ever after?
Very fun read. Great chemistry between Tadhg and Remi. I definitely wanted more from this couple. I did not realize this was part of a MMM-Mayhem Makers world, which is a series from various authors that I am checking out more from. Hope there is more books for the O'Carroll mafia as well.
I haven't read very many mafia books, but this on drew me in from the very beginning and I couldn't put it down. Remi and Tadhg meet when he offers to get her to Houston for a book signing at MMM. They both feel a connection and while out together for dinner things take a turn and drama ensues. The loved the connection they shared and that she fits perfectly in his world. The epilogue omg it was perfect.
DNF. 33% So... this is a book that plays to the long time romance reader. It is something of an homage to the genre in a gushing, immature way that, rather than endear me, got on my nerves. It doesn't help that the the FMC is TSTL or that the MMC is stuck by instalove.
I DNF'd this short book about 1/3 of the way in. I didn't connect with the characters and felt like it was a lot too on the nose with the author shout outs and book signing/conference type setting.
Tadhg and Remi meet via his eavesdropping her conversation where he finds out she's stranded after her flight is canceled. They're taken with each other but he's keeping secrets.
Once they arrive in Houston Tadhg invites her to dinner and thus begins their journey to love! There's some action, spicy moments and boy wanting his girl permanently.
So, this could have been really great, but even for a shorter story, it felt too rushed. The spice was boring. The love was super cute, and I loved that, but again, just too glossed over. It needed a little more fleshing out.
As for the editing and grammar... not great. Lots of errors, and I normally can deal with them, but this one got on my nerves a little bit.
All in all, it's cute, but no more than 3 stars for sure.
Remi a massive book lover was on her way to Texas when bad luck strikes and she is stuck in Chicago cause her flight gets canceled. However luck turns around for her when she meets Tadhg in the hotel lobby and offers her a ride to texas. When she says yes so she doesn't miss out on going to the MMM signing, Remi doesn't know what to expect. When Remi gets dragged into the world that Tadhg lives, he will do anything to protect her.
This book was fantastic! I am always tickled when authors write books with Gaelic and give a glossary. I can honestly say that I am now going to go read Kay Marie because I truly loved this book. It was a departure from what Jessa Aarons usually writes, but these two nailed it! I can't wait to read more of the O'Carrolls!!!
If luck can be the best thing to ever happen to you then don't doubt it. Pure luck is exactly how Insta love storylines should be. Reminds and T fall for each other fast and that makes the story awesome. I am new to this author but will definitely check out her other stories.
I made it to 12% in the book. The writing and lack of editing is ridiculous.
Here's an example:
"A few the couches at the edges of the lobby hold...." The rest of the sentence is irrelevant because the beginning of the sentence doesn't make sense.
Oh my Jessa Aaron and Kay Marie, this Pure Luck: O’Carroll Mafia book is scorching 🔥. It has all the mafia feels with some mayhem and chaos as well. On to the next one!!!
I have an obsession with all things Irish mafia, so I figured, “why not?” I’m so glad that I did! I loved the characters, & could totally relate to Remi! She’s so me! And Tadgh 😍😍. I can’t wait for the other books! I hope Declan gets his story soon!!
Oh this book was good! Quick read with insta love, banter and spice. I loved every page of this book. I loved the main characters, I wish there was more of Tadhg and Remi. I hope Fergus will get a book and there will be more of nana 🤣
